A red coloured bus stops in front of the University gate. One by one, three boys and two girls wearing blue-and-nevyblue uniforms get down from the bus. Then the bus drives away.
Among the three boys, the first one, Arlo, is talking to someone on the phone. The second one, Ethan, is listening to music with headphones on. The third one, Caleb, is talking to one of the girls, Emma.
The other girl, Jay, is staring at the nameplate of the college gate.
Jay's POV
Scarlet University!!!!
Emma: Ugh! It took so long! My parents treat me like a princess. So, obviously I can't tolerate hardship at all.But they made me travel for seven hours!Even I have to wait for such a cheap bus.They should have arranged for a private car instead of that damn red bus.
Caleb: Disgusting weather. Maybe there'll be a storm.
Emma: Oh no! I just hate Stormy weather.
Caleb: Don't worry. I'm here.
Arlo hung up the phone and shouted at everyone.
Arlo: Guys! Let's go!
They go inside.
They are sitting in a large hall. On both sides of the hall, there are five chairs in each row, making a total of fifty rows on both sides. The middle space is left open for walking. They are sitting in the fourth row on the right side. From front to back, it's Arlo, then Caleb, Emma, Ethan, and finally Jay. Arlo is taking files out of his bag and organizing the documents. Caleb and Emma are helping him and discussing things. Ethan is still listening to music, and Jay is observing everyone around.
Jay's POV
Wow!Japanese!Korean!Chinese!And also many country's student!This journey will be very interesting!I wanna make many foreign friends. Ummmmm... Yeah!That girl!Maybe Japanese. She's so pretty.I like Japan and their culture. Will she be my friend?
Arlo's POV
Each of them has come from the best reputed schools of their countries. Before coming here, only fifty countries were selected through online voting to attend the competition. Taking them lightly would be foolish!I have complete faith in my teammates-except Jay!She's so childish. She behaves like a stupid. That's the way she impresses others.
Aria would better than her. She is smart, beautiful, and also has a proper background. Unfortunately, she is not here.
The principal and three teachers enter the room.
Principal: Welcome, students! I'm Joseph anderson, the principal of the Scarlet University. The competition will run from June 1st to June 30th. Arrangements have been made for your accommodation, meals, and practice.For any kind of help, class president, Rabin Knight, will be available. Rabin! Come!
From the first row of the left side, a boy stands up and walks forward. A slight murmur spreads among the students-especially among the girls. Because Rabin is very handsome.
Rabin confidently comes and stands in front of the microphone.
Rabin: I am Rabin Knight. I am at your service twenty-four hours a day.
Everyone claps. The girls can't take their eyes off him.
Rabin's eyes fall on Jay.She has fallen asleep while sitting. She has no idea what's going on here.
In the dormitory, Jay is arranging her luggage. Their rooms are on the seventh floor. Five rooms for five people-side by side. First Arlo, Emma,Caleb. Then Jay's room, and at the end,Ethan's room. Their nameplates are fixed on the doors.Jay comes out of her room and goes up to the rooftop. Holding the railing, she looks down.
Jay's POV
Fifteen floors!What if I fall from here?I might have needed to be admitted to the hospital.
Suddenly, a voice reached Jay's ears. Startled, he turned around.
Robin: Nope. If you fall from here, it's instant death.
Robin walked over and stood beside Jay, gripping the railing. He closed his eyes, letting the fierce, stormy wind wash over him, as if he were savoring every moment of it.
Jay's POV
How did he know what I was thinking?
Robin slowly opened his eyes and looked at Jay.
Robin: The weather is beautiful, isn't it?
Jay remained silent, simply standing there and watching him. Without another word, Robin gave a crooked smile and walked away.
Jay's POV
What a strange guy!Which stupid likes stormy weather?Astonishing!
Jay was heading toward her room. Suddenly, Arlo came out of his room. Jay and Arlo almost collided face to face. As Jay tried to walk past him, Arlo grabbed her hand. Jay looked at him.
Arlo: Fix your behavior. I don't want any trouble.
Jay: W-What did I do?
Arlo: Ask yourself.
Arlo shook off Jay's hand and walked away.
They were all sitting in the cafeteria. There were separate tables for each school.
Jay's POV
Wow! I've never seen such a big cafeteria before. But everyone here is talking in their own language. All the sounds together have turned into something strange.
Jay smiled to herself, but stopped when she noticed Arlo's angry eyes.
Jay's POV
Astonishing! Why is he angry? Such a stupid guy!
Suddenly, some boys entered the cafeteria. They were heading toward their table. The girls at the nearby tables were watching them as they walked by—even Emma. Jay was muttering to herself and aggressively stabbing her food with her fork and spoon.
The boys were Seojan, Robin, Juhan, Jisan, and Jin. As they were passing by Jay's table, Seojan suddenly grabbed Jay's hand. Everyone at the table was startled and looked at Seojan. The boys were shocked too.
Seojan: You're supposed to eat quietly. This isn't a place to show your anger. Save that for your enemies.
The boys walked away. Everyone went back to eating quietly.
Jay's POV
Astonishing! What's wrong with them? What did I even do? Idiots.
Arlo placed his plate down with a loud sound and walked away.
In the Scarlet school's table...
Jisan : Who's that girl?
Rabin:She's from Blue heart international high school.
Jisan:Don't you know her name?
Seojan:Why are you interested?Do you have a crush on her?
Jin:Just tell bro.I'll bring the girl to you.
Jisan:Hey..hey..she's not my crush.She's so childish.Bro, can you remember what she was doing?
Jisan smiled loudly.
Juhan:Jisan!Everyone are starring at us.Have your lunch quietly.
Rabin:What happened Juhan?
Juhan:Nothing dude.
