General Akihiro Fujimoto stood calmly before his army. Thousands soldiers waited in formation behind him, their armor reflecting the firelight from the burning village in the distance.
A captain stepped forward and bowed slightly.
"General, sir… why did we bring three thousand soldiers for just one book? Isn't that a waste of resources? A few troops would have been enough to retrieve it."
The general remained silent for a moment, his sharp eyes fixed on the smoke rising into the sky.
That is not a normal book, he finally said.
It is the Golden Book.
The captain stiffened slightly.
"We are not the only ones searching for it," General Akihiro continued calmly. "There are demons who also desire that book. I have received reports that the Demon Army may attack that village at any time."
His voice grew colder.
"A new Demon Lord has risen… and he wants the book as well. That is why we came first. Before he could reach it."
