Chapter 59 - An S-Rank Ultimate Technique

"Th-This…"

Even Yuya himself was shocked by the scene before him.

There was no explosion.

No sound at all.

Yet the sense of impact was even more terrifying.

It was as if the world itself had become a painting—and someone had simply taken a brush and erased the tree's existence.

Staring at the ground covered in fine powder, Yuya sucked in a sharp breath.

It took him a long while to calm down.

Only then did he realize—

The chakra in his body hadn't just dropped below half.

It had been almost completely drained.

"So the rotation of the Rasengan and the vibration of Shock Release chakra fused together…"

"…turning what should've been a violent explosion into a silent force that annihilates everything?"

Yuya suspected that at the instant of release, the Rasengan's rotational force and the tearing vibration of Shock Release chakra had interfered with and reinforced one another—

Breaking through a limit and entering an ultra-high-frequency state that destroyed matter instantly.

"In terms of single-point power, this is almost on par with an S-rank Rasenshuriken."

"But the drawback is obvious—its movement speed is slow. Slower than Rasenshuriken, and much easier to dodge."

"To land it, I'd need to rely on surprise or positioning."

"And the chakra consumption… is far too high for me right now."

Fully composed again, Yuya analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of this mutated Rasengan with a calm, rational gaze.

In the end, based purely on its destructive power, he classified it as—

An S-rank ninjutsu.

This was also the first S-rank technique Yuya had ever mastered.

At the same time, he designated it as a last-resort trump card—

Not to be used unless absolutely necessary and under perfect conditions.

Draining nearly all of his chakra in one use was simply too extreme.

Even though this S-rank technique benefitted from the Rasengan's framework, Yuya was still excited as he named it:

"Shock Release Ultimate Technique — Collapse Annihilation."

"This is my first ultimate technique…"

"But it definitely won't be my last."

Yuya didn't stop developing new techniques just because he had created Shock Release: Collapse Annihilation.

Opening the Third Gate of the Eight Gates was still some distance away for him.

The True Eight Gates were pure fundamentals—

They had to be built up steadily, step by step. There were no shortcuts.

Collapse Annihilation compensated for some of Yuya's shortcomings.

Even against jōnin, or possibly even Kage-level opponents, Yuya now had a chance to reverse the situation with this move.

However—

He still needed a single-target attack with A-rank power that suited his current state.

Rasengan technically counted.

But using it consumed nearly half his chakra.

And once Rasengan was used, there was no chance of deploying Collapse Annihilation afterward.

So Rasengan itself wasn't ideal for Yuya.

What truly suited him were techniques that:

Worked in tandem with shock-force chakra

Consumed very little chakra

During the period of refining Collapse Annihilation, Yuya had been continuously practicing shock-force control.

Gradually, he began to notice new things.

And new ideas emerged.

If Shock Release chakra could combine with the Rasengan's rotation and transform into a high-frequency, silent annihilating force—

Then it meant shock-force itself was malleable.

Yuya's next goal was to elevate Shock Release chakra into a high-frequency state—

Without relying on Rasengan.

That clearly couldn't be done with bare fists.

It required a weapon.

Yuya commissioned a custom chakra blade from ANBU, intending to infuse it with Shock Release chakra and raise the vibration frequency through the blade.

In essence—

He was imitating chakra flow,

Imitating the power used by Hatake Sakumo.

Before Yuya stood a steel pillar as thick as an arm.

In his hands was a partially damaged chakra blade.

The next instant—

Yuya tightened his grip.

A strange ripple spread across the blade.

There was no visible glow of shock-force chakra.

Formless.

Invisible.

Yet it carried a subtle pressure that made one uneasy.

"Slash."

A sharp glint flashed through Yuya's eyes.

Holding the blade with both hands, he brought it down.

SCREEECH—!!

The harsh sound of metal grinding against metal made everyone's teeth ache.

And then—

The steel pillar was cleanly severed in two.

"Whew. Done."

Yuya nodded in satisfaction.

This was the technique he had derived from Collapse Annihilation—

A standalone form of high-frequency shock-force chakra.

He named it:

Shock Wave Slash

It was not chakra flow—

Yet it possessed comparable cutting power.

By raising shock-force into a high-frequency vibration and focusing it along a line, its cutting power had reached A-rank.

More than enough to resolve Yuya's current dilemma.

Once he passed this stage and his Shock Release chakra grew stronger—

These "workarounds" would no longer be necessary.

So Shock Wave Slash was a transitional technique.

Pros

Extremely low chakra consumption

Comparable to normal shock-force usage

Single-target power greater than Shock Release or Monstrous Strength

No rigidity; highly flexible

Cons

Single-target only; poor against multi-directional attacks

Must be paired with wide-area shock-force for defense

Cannot be used consecutively

Requires recharging after each use

And there was a third, very real drawback—

Even refined steel couldn't withstand it.

Yuya stared at the weapon in his hand—

Which was now nothing more than a handle.

"…It broke again after just a few uses?!"

His face twitched painfully.

He had already destroyed multiple custom-made chakra blades while training this technique.

Even when deliberately thickened and reinforced, the blades still couldn't survive.

The high-frequency shock waves directly destroyed the internal material structure.

Until he found a suitable weapon—

It seemed safer to use kunai instead.

Refined-steel weapons were already standard issue for shinobi.

Anything stronger fell into the category of ninja blades.

Like Hatake Sakumo's White Fang, or the weapons of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist—

Those were true ninja blades.

Ordinary refined steel couldn't withstand Yuya's power.

A ninja blade might.

But even then, Yuya suspected—

Most ninja blades would still break after dozens or hundreds of uses.

Unless it was something like:

The Executioner's Blade, which could regenerate

Or the Kusanagi Sword, a true divine weapon

A weapon above even ninja blades.

Something like that would handle Shock Wave Slash effortlessly.

But…

The Kusanagi Sword wasn't easy to find.

At this point in time, Orochimaru likely didn't possess it yet.

In the Naruto world, the Kusanagi Sword was said to originate from the Kusanagi Clan, with multiple versions existing—

Orochimaru only later began collecting them.

Which meant—

If Yuya acted early, he still had a chance.

If the sword fell into Orochimaru's hands first…

Taking it back would be far more difficult.
