Chapter 34 - Immunity to Genjutsu (Fourth Update)

With the issue of genjutsu now placed squarely before him, Yuya continuously searched his memories for everything related to illusionary techniques.

Uchiha Han—Yuya suspected that he most likely possessed the Sharingan.

Even if he didn't, an Uchiha chūnin who couldn't use genjutsu? That would be laughable.

This was a very serious problem.

"Genjutsu, in essence, seems to be the interference of chakra flow—disrupting the enemy's mental processes and throwing their senses into chaos."

Yuya vaguely remembered that in the original canon, when Jiraiya taught Naruto how to deal with genjutsu, he explained that once caught in an illusion, one should stop their chakra flow as instantaneously as possible.

Chakra itself is the product of physical energy and spiritual energy extracted from the body's countless cells.

As long as chakra flow is disrupted, it can influence the opponent's mind, inducing hallucinations and distorted perceptions.

In other words… genjutsu is still fundamentally tied to chakra!

And as long as the disrupted chakra flow can be stabilized, genjutsu can be broken. In canon, the Eight-Tails' jinchūriki, Killer B, once stated that he was nearly immune to genjutsu because he had two consciousnesses within his body—himself and the Eight-Tails—capable of correcting chakra disturbances for each other.

At this thought, a flicker of astonishment appeared in Yuya's eyes.

"Then doesn't that mean… I'm basically immune to genjutsu?"

Suddenly, Yuya recalled Might Guy from the original story. Guy almost never fell victim to genjutsu. Even later, when he opened the Eight Gates and battered Six Paths Madara, Madara never attempted to use genjutsu against him.

Madara's combat experience was immeasurable. If genjutsu had truly been Guy's weakness, he would have exploited it long ago.

The real reason was likely simple—genjutsu was extremely ineffective against Might Guy.

Especially in the state of the Eight Gates Formation, Guy's chakra surged violently, his willpower was condensed to the extreme, and his body was wracked by unbearable pain.

Under such circumstances, even the strongest genjutsu would struggle to take effect.

"Besides, even if genjutsu can interfere with my chakra, it can't affect my vibration force."

"All I need is a single vibration…"

Yuya muttered softly. With a mere thought, a strand of vibration force activated within his body. His chakra was instantly shaken—and forcibly halted.

To dispel genjutsu, he didn't even need to form hand seals!

"Unless it's something like Tsukuyomi or Kotoamatsukami—those freakishly overpowered genjutsu—ordinary illusions, whether sensory or mental, are completely ineffective against me. I can break them instantly."

At that realization, Yuya visibly relaxed.

His long-standing worries turned out to be unnecessary.

From the very beginning, it wasn't just ninjutsu and taijutsu that were ineffective against him—genjutsu was as well!

The Vibration Release Kekkei Genkai could perfectly and effortlessly dispel genjutsu. A simple vibration was enough to free his chakra from external interference and neutralize mental attacks.

Even so, Yuya was cautious by nature. Despite being almost certain, he decided to test it in practice.

The problem was that he barely knew anyone in Konoha. Might Dai was out of the question—genjutsu was something he definitely couldn't use.

In the end, with Kushina's help, Yuya finally found someone willing to test him.

After just two simple attempts, the ninja helping him stared at Yuya in a daze, disbelief written all over his face.

Normally, breaking genjutsu required at least forming a hand seal—either stopping chakra flow or forcefully breaking through the interference.

But Yuya didn't even do that.

It was as if he was completely immune.

The ninja was utterly stunned, looking at Yuya as though he were a monster.

After several more trials, Yuya finally confirmed it completely: as long as it wasn't genjutsu on the level of Tsukuyomi or Kotoamatsukami, it was entirely useless against him!

And as his Vibration Release Kekkei Genkai continued to grow stronger, if it could extend through chakra into the spiritual domain, then even facing Tsukuyomi or Kotoamatsukami… it might not be impossible to resist.

With ordinary genjutsu confirmed ineffective, Yuya finally put his mind at ease.

When Kushina saw that Yuya was immune to genjutsu, she was overjoyed.

The stronger Yuya became, the happier she was.

Before, she never imagined that Yuya could defeat Minato Namikaze and take first place in the Ninja Academy's combat ranking assessment.

Now, when no one believed Yuya could defeat the chūnin Uchiha Han, Kushina felt an inexplicable confidence in him.

After shouting a quick "Good luck!" to Yuya, she obediently stopped bothering him and let him continue his training.

Yuya returned once more to the back mountain.

While continuing to temper his body, he also began to develop techniques that truly belonged to him.

Previously, he hadn't cared about named techniques at all—there was simply no need.

But as his strength increased and his Vibration Release grew more powerful, its derived applications naturally became more refined.

A standard punch empowered by Yuya's Vibration Release didn't just strike forward—it unleashed a powerful vibration across everything in front of him.

This vibration wasn't an impact that sent enemies flying backward, but rather a tearing, destructive force.

By simply combining it with taijutsu, Yuya developed three techniques.

Calling them "techniques" was generous—they were really just refined applications.

Collapse. Sever. Pierce.

Collapse involved striking downward with the palm, directing vibration force from above to below.

This attack enveloped the enemy beneath him, causing the vibration to strike both the target and the ground simultaneously.

Sever was a move Yuya had already used before—both fists swinging outward, splitting the entire battlefield apart in a single震断 strike.

Pierce was an upward uppercut, directing vibration force from below to above.

Though these three attacks merely altered the direction of the vibration force, its sheer power made even such simple changes devastating and extremely difficult to defend against.

While practicing these techniques, Yuya suddenly discovered something astonishing.

After his vibration force became strong enough to shatter B-rank ninjutsu, it could now trigger earthquakes!

If Collapse, Sever, and Pierce belonged to the realm of air vibrations, then his newly developed technique—

Vibration Release: Earth Release: Earth-Shaking Technique

—belonged to the realm of seismic vibration.

There was already a C-rank Earth Release technique called Earth Release: Earth-Shaking Technique, but Yuya's version was far stronger.

Not only could it cause the ground to roll and tremble, it could even tear open massive fissures in the earth itself.

And once Yuya fully mastered all these newly developed techniques…

The day of his life-or-death duel with Uchiha Han finally arrived.
