After dancing for a few more minutes, Cael and Elowyn finally stepped out of the circle.
He wanted to ask her to lunch when Elowyn's watch rang.

Elowyn read the message and softly said,
"Looks like I got some work."
Cael eyed her reaction and asked,
"Need any help?"
Elowyn shook her head and replied,
"There is no need. There will be other stronger rankers available, and besides, I just need to attend the meeting."
Cael nodded while slowly releasing her hand.
"I see… Are you free for dinner?"
Elowyn smiled, turned back, and started walking away while saying,
"I will see what I can do."
She didn't look back as she walked away, but her steps were slightly slower than usual.
The crowd gradually swallowed her figure, blending her into the busy streets.
He watched her until Elowyn completely disappeared from sight.
Cael stood there for a moment longer than necessary before muttering to himself,
"Is that a yes or no?"
Then he let out a quiet breath and turned away.
