Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Accept Reality, Boss

"Jerry! Are you done yet?"

"Almost there, almost there! Ah! This damn camera! I knew I shouldn't have bought it at Temu!"

Thud! Thud!

With a series of pounding sounds, the previously black screen first flickered with static, and then gradually began to display the filmed content.

Facing the camera was a female reporter wearing a name tag, a gray suit, a black pencil skirt, and long, wavy blonde hair, embodying the epitome of the usual sexy reporter.

To the female reporter right side was a man with a buzz cut wearing sunglasses, a red tie, and a black suit, with red A metal buttons on his shirt collar and cuffs.

Behind them was a fairly wide street, but judging from the traffic lights and buildings, it appeared to have been built in the 1960s or 70s.

Further away is a modern building bathed in the midday sun, standing out from the surrounding buildings it is clearly a newly built industrial park.

At this moment, cameraman Jerry's left hand appeared on the left side of the screen, making a fist and extending his thumb, saying

"OK, OK, we can start filming now!"

"Oh? It's done so quickly this time?" The female reporter, reminded, straightened her clothes and hair, then raised the microphone she was gripping tightly in her right hand to her front and said.

"Ahem, just testing it out."

"No problem, start filming, five, four, three..." The cameraman, who had withdrawn his left hand, did not finish the countdown of two, one.

"Hello everyone!" However, the female reporter had already silently counted down in her mind, and with a professional smile on her face, she began her report.

"I'm your old friend, Raven Mead, the field host for the Seattle Midday News!"

As she spoke, the female reporter named Raven Mead turned slightly to the side, looked around, and introduced herself "Today, we've arrived in Accra, the capital of Ghana, known as the land of cocoa. As for the reason for coming here...."

At this point, Raven turned her attention back to the camera, saying, "It's something that's been making headlines in Seattle. Our proud multinational giant Atlas announced three months ago, on June 12th, that it would invest in Accra and build a large-scale industrial park.

As viewers are probably familiar with what happened next, the construction of the Accra campus actually created a large number of jobs for Seattle, boosting the city's economy once again.

However, everyone, including myself and our in house cameraman Jerry, was very puzzled as to why Atlas would choose to build a high end campus in a West African country.

Although Ghana is known as the land of cocoa, and Accra is one of the few modern cities in Africa, we don't understand why this industrial park wasn't built in Seattle, Atlas's hometown.

Wouldn't that have created more job opportunities for the local residents?

Therefore, we invited Shane Wong, the director of the Accra campus, to answer your questions!

At this point, Robin moved the microphone in front of the man in the suit next to him and asked, "Mr. Wong, was Atlas's intention in establishing the industrial park in Accra to invest in Ghana, or...?"

"The reason is simple: natural resources." Wong Shane didn't have the same smile as the female reporter, but still explained in a relatively kind tone "We understand the public's confusion, and we also understand that there are many problems in Africa.

Industrial manufacturing requires a large amount of natural resources, and Ghana contains minerals such as gold, bauxite, manganese, and iron, with reserves ranking among the highest in the world.

Therefore, after several site visits, we decided to establish an industrial park in Accra for manufacturing our company's products and some heavy industrial operations.

We have never forgotten Seattle, otherwise we would not have recruited nearly 10,000 local Seattle residents or nearby residents to come to this park to work.

More importantly, Atlas not only provides these employees with the most comfortable accommodations, but also offers them a monthly salary that is four times higher than the Seattle local average.

Wage increases will stimulate consumption, making the Seattle market more active, and will also indirectly increase the income of local people in Seattle, so this can be considered a virtuous cycle.

Ghana's security situation is relatively stable compared to the rest of Africa. Even if armed conflicts were to break out, our Atlas security team would be able to protect the park and its employees without the need for the local army."

"Yes, that makes sense." Raven nodded thoughtfully, then followed the interview procedure and asked, "Mr. Wong, would it be possible for us to take a brief tour of the park?"

"Of course, please follow me."

The photography team followed Wang Shane to the main gate of the park, where they met two armed security guards equipped with rifles, bulletproof vests, and helmets.

One was on guard duty, while the other was inside the security booth.

Even knowing Wong Shane appearance and identity, the armed security personnel still followed the rules and regulations. They first verified his credentials, reported to their superiors, and only allowed the group to enter the park after receiving approval.

Of course, the areas the camera crew visited were all legal and compliant buildings such as factories, restaurants, and dormitories they would never enter the actual core area, which is the arsenal.

Indeed, as the female reporter mentioned in her opening remarks, the Accra campus was announced to have started construction on June 12 and was fully completed ten days earlier on September 9.

It took just over three months from project initiation to official use.

The true purpose and objective of Atlas's construction of the park was to manufacture and test the technologies obtained through the first spatial gate, such as mechanical exoskeletons that could greatly enhance individual combat capabilities, and the batteries that power them.

The reason for not hiding the park is that, given the scale of Atlas, it would inevitably attract the attention of peers and competitors. Hiding it would be tantamount to protesting too much, so it's better to be open about it normally.

At the same time, the park can also provide cover for the ruins deep in the rainforest.

Once the hype dies down, spend some money on the media to divert public attention, and then strictly implement confidentiality measures there's almost no need to worry about exposing the problem.

As for recruiting people from Seattle and the West Coast of the United States to work here, to put it nicely, it's to provide employment opportunities and stimulate the market economy, to put it bluntly, it's because Atlas and Sui Yang are suspicious of Ghanaian and local African workers.

Of course not everyone of these citizens have any bad intentions against Atlas, Sui Yang ingrained to himself to not stereotype any of the ghanaian and local african workers, he has a reputation to make and he ain't gonna start pointing fingers on who have bad intentions against him, he's not gonna move unless the idiots move.

In contrast, the specially selected newcomers and the veteran employees with more authority are not only attracted by Atlas's high salaries and benefits, but also by their goodwill and loyalty to their fellow countrymen's company. Furthermore, after signing confidentiality agreements, they fear the consequences of leaking information.

at this time.

In the heart of the Accra campus, there is a three story building, roughly the size of a teaching building.

And in one of the offices in this building....

"Boss, my team and I have conducted seven comprehensive tests as you requested, and each time the results showed that the DNA similarity between you is greater than 99.999%. The results support your parentage, so there's no need to dwell on it anymore. You are the father, accept the reality boss."
