Chapter 3 - Destiny and promise

I just want to be who i want to be

I don't need exceptions, no delusions

Chance is only once, you know

When i'm lost and start to fall

Let me fly 'em all

Go! I've been waiting for this so long

Fate is calling me along

Another dawn will shine a hope inside my heart

YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY! LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY CYAN!

Cyan was panting in the middle of the stadium stage. It was the end of another great show, and the fans' reaction was proof enough for her that once again it had been an incredible experience for everyone.

"THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR BEING HERE!" She shouted into the microphone, grateful to be able to sing for so many people.

LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY! LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY CYAN!

"THANK YOU SO MUCH"

"YOU ARE THE BEST"

"YOU ARE THE TRUE NUMBER ONE HERO"

"YOU ARE AN ANGEL WHO FELL FROM HEAVEN"

LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY! LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY CYAN! LUCKY CYAN!

Each fan's scream was drowned out by another louder scream.

Even after so many shows, Cyan still felt a little nervous about this reception.

"Why did you stop?"

Cyan felt a chill down her spine when she heard that voice, turning around, she found the person she feared.

"M-Mrs. Smith!? Why are you here!?"

"I'm here to make sure you achieve the best result for your fans, you silly girl." Mrs. Smith had a dangerous smile on her face.

"You know very well..." Mrs. Smith took a step forward and as a result Cyan felt something grabbing her leg, it was a chain.

"What!?"

"Your existence is based on the trust of your fans..." a few more steps from Mrs. Smith, and another chain attached itself to her other leg.

"Everything you are, you owe to them. You live for them." Mrs. Smith walked past Cyan and stopped in front of the stage, chains now attached to Cyan's wrists.

Cyan had a look of fear on her face.

"Isn't that right, dear fans?" Mrs. Smith now spoke to the audience of fans in front of her.

"You want to hear your favorite hero sing again, don't you?" Mrs. Smith had a big smile on her face, her hands cupped around her ears to better hear the fans' response.

YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

Clank!

A loud metallic clang was heard as another chain was fastened around Cyan's neck.

Cyan fell to her knees, tears streaming down her face.

"Accept it once and for all..." Mrs. Smith looked at Cyan, removing her own glasses, revealing black eyes with bright red irises.

"This is your destiny."

"Ahhh!" Cyan opened her eyes and sat up in bed, startled. Light streamed in through the bedroom window, revealing that it was morning.

Distraught, she quickly checked her wrist for a chain.

Nothing... It was a nightmare...

She felt small tears running down her face. Wiping the tears from her face, she looked around and saw that she was in what appeared to be a small room.

Where am I...?

"Need help?"

Memories of last night began to flood her mind, it seemed that the brief rest was already having an effect on her.

From the moment she heard those words, she felt that luck was guiding her to trust the person in front of her. She knows how ridiculous and foolish that sounds; she herself finds her luck ridiculous at times.

Now she was here in the house of a stranger, whose true intentions she did not know. She did not feel as tired as before, she was not as hungry as before, and she felt... safe.

He was kind to me, but...

Cyan clenched her fists tightly on the bed sheets. She could not help thinking about someone else suffering just for helping her.

He can pay the price for that...

Getting up from the bed, she walked to the door.

I can't stay here.

And then the door opened in front of her.

"Are you okay? I heard a scream."

The person who helped her was standing in front of her, again with that look of concern on his face. It was clear that, compared to her, he hadn't gotten much sleep that night.

Cyan lowered her head in response. She couldn't take it anymore. She couldn't understand why he was doing this for her, why he was trying so hard to help someone who couldn't even look him in the eye. He was just someone who could get hurt by doing this.

"Why—"

*Ring*Ring*Ring*

A little tune played in the air.

"Oh, sorry," he took the ringing cell phone out of his pocket.

Lifting his head slightly, Cyan finally noticed the badge hanging around his neck.

Lin Ling...

"AAAH!"

Cyan stood up a little more when he heard his quick scream.

He had a new look on his face, one of genuine fear.

He moved away from the door and stood further inside the room while shaking as he answered the call.

"Hi boss... how are you this morning?"

Cyan thought of Mickey when she heard the word boss. She had to admit, bosses could be scary.

"The campaign is underway—yes... I... yes... no, no, no, I'm on my way—what?...Really!?... Okay... thank you."

Lin Ling ended the call and a brief silence stretched across the room.

Cyan didn't know exactly what the boss had said to him, she could only hear his part of the conversation.

As she moved a little closer to him, she saw another new expression on his face, now one of total astonishment.

He seemed to be processing something in his mind. After a few seconds, he began to blink and finally turned to look at her again.

"Oh, I'm sorry about that, it must have been a strange scene to see." He scratched his cheek with a nervous laugh.

"My boss gave me the day off, he said a break would help me with my work..." He frowned and put a hand on his head in concern. "He's never done that before... I'm afraid of what it might mean."

Noticing how the girl looked at him with a blank expression, he realized that he might have said something unnecessary at that moment.

"Okay, I'll forget about it for today, it's a day off after all."

"So..." Lin Ling now looked at the girl with a serious expression. "The most important thing is that we talk about—"

He was interrupted by a familiar sound from last night, a rumbling stomach.

The girl lowered her head, and Lin Ling could see her ears turning red.

Lin Ling smiled slightly at this sight; in a way, she was more expressive than last night.

"How could I forget, the most important thing is breakfast! I'll go out to buy something, you can wait here and if you want... watch TV." Lin Ling sounded more playful now as he left the apartment.

Cyan was now alone in the apartment. Cyan knew that she had trusted him a little blindly, but wasn't he doing the same thing to her?

Walking further into the living room, she noticed that it was just as messy as the night before. The difference this time was that there was an open laptop and a folder on the small table in front of the sofa.

Finding what appeared to be the TV remote control amid the mess, she decided to sit on the sofa, pulling her knees up to her chest, while she changed channels until she found something interesting.

GREAT PAIN IN THE MUSIC WORLD FOR CITY X

"Hm!?" Cyan's eyes widened when she arrived at the news channel, it seems they are already talking about her.

The news anchor began showing images of last night's concert stadium as he continued.

"For the first time in her career, idol heroine Lucky Cyan abruptly canceled a concert last night.

The cancellation was first communicated to fans who were at the stadium, and the lack of prior notice generated great dissatisfaction among fans of the heroine throughout City X.

An hour ago, DOS posted a statement clarifying what happened."

Shortly after this announcement, DOS announced that talent agent Sophia Smith had been dismissed from her position as Lucky Cyan's personal agent.

Fomo users suspect that Lucky Cyan was suffering from work overload due to his agent, causing a decline in his health, but no confirmation has been given yet.

When questioned, DOS did not respond about the case..

Now let's move on to the weather forecast-

Turning off the TV, Lucky Cyan didn't know how to feel about it. Clearly, she felt relieved that Mrs. Smith had been fired if it meant she wouldn't have to see her anymore, but the question was, did she want to come back?

Surely DOS wouldn't announce her departure from the show, as that would surely cause more outrage among fans, but she had her doubts that DOS would willingly wait for her to return.

She has seen heroes being replaced, and they may very well do that to her, but her friends would not like that... Queen, Little Johnny, Big Johnny, Luo...

Luo...

Cyan hugged her legs tighter as she remembered the friend who changed her life.

I failed you once again...

37 A.C - Two weeks after the orphanage incident.

"Hey, watch out!" Cyan's driver warned her as she practically jumped out of the car.

"Sorry."

Cyan was very excited, she ran to the orphanage as fast as she could. Mickey had finally agreed to make Luo a hero, even though he first had to do a kind of interview to be accepted into DOS. This was already a big step for her friend to realize his dream.

She couldn't wait to see his face when she told him.

Entering the orphanage, she dodged children playing and workers who were renovating the orphanage. After her victory against the former director, the orphanage resumed receiving funds to continue operating, in addition to some donations from Cyan herself.

Even though this place had used her for years as an object without feelings, she couldn't blame the children there. They needed a place to stay and grow up. This place was a refuge where they could find themselves and grow up with dreams, just as she had grown up.

She finally arrived at what used to be the old orphanage stage. Luo was there, talking to someone who looked like one of the renovation workers.

"LUO!" Even though she was panting from running, she mustered the strength to call out to her friend.

Luo quickly turned around and smiled when he saw her. Saying goodbye to the worker, Luo approached Cyan to greet her.

"Hi Cya-" Luo was interrupted by a sudden hug from Cyan. He realized that she was more excited than usual.

"Hey, hey, hey, calm down, I'm not going anywhere." Luo laughed as he returned the hug.

After a few seconds, they both walked away, embarrassment written all over their faces.

Plucking up their courage, they both decided to tell their friend something.

"Cyan." "Luo."

"Hm? "Hm?"

"You first—" "You first—"

"No, I insist—" "No, I insist—"

"I—" "I—"

The situation was getting more and more ridiculous.

"ENOUGH!" Cyan shouted to the sky, already irritated and impatient with it all.

Luo reacted with a nervous laugh to her friend.

"Rock-paper-scissors to decide who tells first!" Cyan had a serious gleam in her eyes as she challenged his friend.

"What!? You know that's not fair! You always win!"

"Oh, are you going to chicken out?" Cyan had a smug smile on her face as she taunted him.

"Okay. You asked for it! Don't cry when I beat you!"

"Let's see then!"

"JO" "JO"

'KEN' "KEN"

"PÔ" "PÔ"

Luo threw rock. Cyan threw paper.

"Victory!" Cyan struck a funny pose as she bragged.

"Why do I even try?" Luo was lying on the ground with comical tears falling.

"They look like two children."

"Let them enjoy the moment, it's never too late to have fun."

"Say that when we finish today's shift."

Two nearby workers commented on the scene they saw of the two friends.

"Okay, so what's the news?" Luo stood up, wiping the dirt off his pants, waiting to find out why her friend was so excited.

"Oh, right..." Cyan let out a nervous laugh, she was already forgetting why she was there.

"Listen, I finally got Mickey's approval... you... can... FINALLY BECOME A HERO WITH DOS!!" Cyan shouted happily with her arms open, waiting for Luo to react.

Luo's eyes widened in surprise, but that was all. Then he had a serious expression on his face.

Cyan noticed this and became concerned. She had expected him to jump up, shout, and go crazy with the news, but his reaction... was disappointing.

"Hey Luo... are you okay?" Cyan asked, hoping he would explain his reaction to her.

"Cyan... can you come with me?... I have something to show you." Luo asked in a serious tone.

Cyan nodded, accepting his request.

The walk to where they were going was silent. Cyan still couldn't understand his reaction. This was his dream! Why wasn't he happy and running with her to DOS to make it official...

"We're here."

Cyan knew very well where they were; it was the orphanage director's office.

Ah... he must just be worried about getting the new director's approval.

Cyan thought of a reason for them to be there.

Entering the office, she noticed how empty it was, but something else caught her attention: the new decor had a familiar style, and there was even a guitar on one of the walls.

Approaching the director's desk, she saw that he wasn't there.

"So we'll have to wait to talk to the director?"

"About that, Cyan..." Luo had his head down, his hair hiding his eyes.

Walking around the desk, Luo sat down in the chair and then...

"SURPRISE! You're looking at the new director of the orphanage!" Like Cyan, Luo had his arms open while flashing a small smile.

.

.

.

.

"HAHAHA.... very funny Luo... seriously, director of the orphanage... you." Cyan was laughing exaggeratedly; for her, it was just another one of Luo's pranks.

"Cyan-"

"Seriously? Who would believe that..."

"Cyan-"

"Now seriously, where's the real director? Hidden inside a closet?"

"Cyan... that's the truth... i'm the new director of the orphanage, and because of that, I can't become a hero right now." Luo returned to his serious expression.

Cyan stopped laughing, his expression once again unreadable to Luo.

Silence returned to the room. Cyan trembled slightly, while Luo tried to remain as strong as possible.

"Why...?" Cyan asked, her voice trembling. It had to be a lie.

"I know it's strange, but I—"

"NO! Why!? This isn't your dream! After everything you've been through, you don't deserve to be here." Cyan spoke with a tone of desperation, small tears forming in her eyes.

Luo stood up from his chair, worried about her. He knew she wouldn't like this, but her reaction surprised him.

"Cyan, listen, i—"

"No! No! No! Why are you—is it my fault? I'm sorry if I ended up stealing your dream, I just wanted to find you, to help you! You dreamed of being a hero and I stole that from you, you have every right to hate me—"

Cyan, in the midst of her apology, suddenly felt arms wrap around her. Luo was hugging her.

"Please never... never say that again." Luo hugged her tightly, small tears also visible in his eyes.

"You were the first to believe in my dream. I am grateful to you, Cyan. Remember, you have become someone incredible. You are my hero. Never forget that."

Cyan returned the hug, and they both cried on each other's shoulders.

.

.

.

.

After a few minutes, both were calmer. Cyan was sitting in a chair at the table with a cup of tea in her hand, Luo was in front of her, leaning on the table.

"Why?" Cyan now asked calmly.

Luo sighed before beginning to explain.

"It's strange, I still want to be a hero, but I can't turn my back on this place... I always believed that once I became a hero, everyone would look at me differently, not with fear, but perhaps... admiration, but then I met you, a girl who had the potential to have it all, but didn't want any of it, you just wanted to live like anyone else, like an ordinary person. I have to admit, I thought you were crazy."

Luo had a small smile on his face as he remembered.

"We grew up believing in each other's dreams, and then the day of escape arrived. I helped you, you ran away, and I stayed... I won't lie to you, I waited for you, I believed in you, but in the end I was weak, I fell for the former director's talk and began to doubt you..."

Luo now had a melancholic look on his face.

"No! It's not your fault, you were alone, he just took advantage of your fears—"

"Exactly."

Luo now looked out the window on the other side of the office. Cyan followed his gaze and saw what he was looking at.

It was a group of children playing outside.

"Cyan... children are the ones who believe, trust, and dream the most, but they are also the ones who feel fear the most... I want to make sure they no longer feel fear in a place like this, that they find hope for a better life after this place. This wasn't my dream, but it's something I'm willing to do from the bottom of my heart.

Luo now looked seriously at Cyan.

"That's why I need you to believe in me once again. I will always believe in you, so promise me that you will always be that incredible heroine who brings hope to everyone."

Cyan responded with a small laugh. This was truly the incredible boy she knew.

"All right..." She knew that at that moment Luo would never change his mind, so she stood up and held out her fist to him. "I promise." In response, he did the same, and they both touched fists as a sign of a new promise.

"But I hope to see big changes here." Cyan took on a playful tone.

"Oh, but you will see, one of my first plans is a talent show, how about you being one of the judges?"

"Are you sure? My approval rating may be quite high."

"You'll be surprised by these kids, little Carl for example..."

The two great friends continued to talk for hours. For both of them, it was a day of new beginnings in their lives.

Later, Cyan was going up to his floor in the heroes' tower when the elevator reached his floor and—

SURPRISE!

The floor was decorated for a big party, with a large banner stretched across the room that read, "Welcome, new hero Luo!"

His hero friends Queen, Little Johnny, and Big Johnny were coming out from behind the sofa dressed for the party.

Queen wore a party hat and had a horn in her hand. She seemed a little shy in this situation.

The father and son duo were equally prepared, both wearing party hats and holding horns in both hands. They seemed genuinely excited for the occasion.

"Hm?" The three had the same reaction when they saw that only Cyan had arrived.

"Where's Luo?" Little Johnny ended up asking the question that was hanging in the air.

Cyan let out a nervous laugh in response..

.

.

.

.

"Oh wow, so now he's going to continue as the director of the orphanage... I'd say it's unexpected, but it just proves what an amazing guy he is!" Little Johnny commented after Cyan's explanation.

Cyan and Queem were sitting on the sofa next to each other, Little Johnny was leaning on the back of the sofa, and Big Johnny was sitting on Cyan's lap, enjoying the affection of both heroines.

"Little Johnny is right, I can understand why you're sad, but willing to let an opportunity like this pass you by for the sake of such a noble goal. Luo is an incredible person, Cyan, he's being a hero in his own way." Queen commented with the serenity that only she could convey.

"Yes! Next time you go to the orphanage, take us with you. I bet the kids will love the boomerang," Little Johnny said, excited by the idea.

The mood was already improving thanks to her friends, and she is always reminded of how incredible they are.

"Thanks, guys, but right now I'm more concerned with what to do with all this food." Cyan commented on the treats on the table.

Big Johnny could eat anything, but he didn't seem interested at the moment.

"Hmmm- oh oh oh," Little Johnny raised his hand as if waiting for permission to speak.

Cyan let out a giggle, while Queen rolled her eyes with a smile on her face in response to his friend's jokes.

"Go ahead, Little Johnny," Queen did the honors.

"What if we had a sleepover and a bad movie marathon?" Little Johnny's eyes lit up at the idea.

"Like the horror movie marathon where you were scared of most of them?" Cyan took the opportunity to tease his friend about the night he didn't like to remember.

"Oh come on, they were pretty scary movies."

"Really? Even the clown one?"

"Don't you dare act like you're the most courageous one here!"

Cyan laughed heartily at that.

"Okay, okay... I like that idea."

Big Johnny raised one of his paws in agreement with the idea.

Now the three of them looked at Queen, with a typical cute face waiting for her approval.

Queen tried to be strong against it.

It's cowardly to use my weakness.

"All right, it should be fine. Tomorrow's patrol starts later."

"Yes!" Little Johnny, Big Johnny, and Cyan pumped their fists in victory.

"Time to change into my pajamas, let's go, son." Little Johnny jumped off the couch toward the elevator, his son following close behind.

"I'd better go change too." Queen left immediately for the elevator.

"See you." Cyan waved at them with a smile.

When they both disappeared into the elevator, Cyan's smile vanished and a sad expression took over her face.

Lifting her knees up to her chest, she lowered her head and lamented her new reality.

I still wanted him by my side...

40 A.C - Back to the present

After that day, Cyan still visited Luo regularly, but unfortunately, both of their workloads increased over time, and their visits decreased to the point that they hadn't seen each other in months.

Cyan wanted to see him, wanted to apologize for failing him again, but now she didn't know if she had the courage to face him.

I broke another promise once again... I never deserved this dream... it belonged to Luo, he would have handled all this much better than I did....

Tears began to roll down her face, and she cried alone for a few minutes.

Suddenly, a strong wind began to blow through an opening at the entrance to the balcony.

Some papers that were scattered around the room began to fly around, until one hit Cyan square in the face as she was wiping the tears from her face.

After all... what's so important about these papers that they're everywhere?

Picking up the paper with a slight anger, she began to read what this person was probably so dedicated to.

Treeman advertising campaign

Campaign proposal for request No. 93

From: Hero Ling - Toadman Agency

Result: Denied

Objective: Promotion of the partnership between Treeman and an eyewear franchise.

Reason: The lighting does not sufficiently highlight Nice's face; Nice's smile must be perfectly highlighted.

Cyan blinked a little, the reason seemed a little exaggerated, so she picked up another piece of paper that was nearby.

Treeman advertising campaign

Revision of proposal for request No. 84

From: Hero Ling - Toadman Agency

Objective: To promote the new line of sneakers for the perfect couple.

Result: Denied

Reason: The camera did not focus enough on Nice's movements, decrease Moon's screen time, and increase Nice's.

Another paper.

Treeman advertising campaign

Campaign proposal for request No. 77

From: Hero Ling - Toadman Agency

Objective: Promote Treeman's new Nice Cola drink

Result: Denied

Reason: Horrible, Nice's face shows an exaggerated expression of satisfaction; he needs to show subtlety and perfect appreciation for the product.

All the papers repeated the same negative response, and for a reason that Cyan found ridiculous.

In the end, this guy is someone who is also part of these heroic activities, for Treeman on top of that.

She has already seen how their greatest hero, the perfect hero Nice, may be far from perfect. The incident at the ruins made her realize that even heroes do not shy away from lying about who they are.

She has no concrete evidence of Nice's involvement in the deaths at the ruins, but she also has no evidence to say that he is innocent.

And the look on Luo Li's face when she talked about Nice after the incident wasn't the look you'd expect to see when talking about a hero.

These thoughts made Cyan a little apprehensive about the person who saved her. He was too kind to her, but he could very well be lying about being kind in order to do the same thing the former principal and Mrs. Smith did to her.

Selling a photo or news about her in that situation would easily be profitable for him.

Maybe he's only helping me because I'm Lucky Cyan—

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the front door opening.

Lin Ling was back, her hands full of shopping bags.

As she approached him, she saw the look of astonishment on his face. Apparently, something had happened during her brief trip out to buy breakfast.

"Sorry for the delay, but look..." he showed off the bags as if they were a prize. "At the convenience store, I won a prize for being the millionth customer, and they gave me all this. There are all kinds of sandwiches here. What's your favorite flavor?" He flashed a small smile at Cyan.

Cyan's eyes widened. First the unexpected day off, and now this. Her luck was already having an effect on his life.

It won't be long before he wants to use me too...

Cyan lowered her head and hid her face from his view, avoiding answering his question, thus leaving him once again in silence.

Lin Ling, in response to this action, became concerned, as the girl had become less expressive again.

What happened while I was away?

"Okay... I'll leave the bags here and you can take whatever you want." Lin Ling left the room and decided it was best to think about the situation more carefully.

He went into the bathroom and decided to wash his face to see if it would help him wake up and think more clearly. He had stayed up most of the night to get some work done.

This just gets weirder... could this girl really be Lucky Cyan?

He remembered the state she was in when he found her.

Lin Ling looked at himself in the mirror, the dark circles under his eyes reminding him of those she had on her own face.

If so, what made an elite heroine like her end up like this-

He shook his head, dismissing these thoughts.

Forget it! That's not the most important thing. Lucky Cyan or not, she needs help.

Returning to the room, he noticed that there were some empty sandwich wrappers on the table. At least the girl was willing to eat.

Okay, let's do this.

Before returning to the girl, he went to the table near the balcony and picked up a few things that were on it.

"Hi..." he called out to the girl, who was still sitting on the sofa in the same position.

She lifted her head slightly to look at him.

"Use this to answer me, so you don't have to strain your throat."

He handed her a notebook and a pencil.

The girl weakly accepted this idea.

Pulling up a chair, Lin Ling sat down in front of her with the small table between them.

Now... where do I start...

Lin Ling knew that the situation was delicate, he had to be calm with his questions.

I haven't introduced myself to her yet, have I...

"I don't think we've been introduced yet, my name is Lin Ling."

The girl didn't respond, just left him in silence.

This isn't going to get us very far.

"I've asked you this before, but is there really no relative or friend I can call?"

After a few seconds, the girl decided to use her notebook and pencil, showing him the notebook.

I don't want to involve them in this.

At least she decided to tell me more.

"Sorry for asking, but involve them in what exactly?"

Vacation, I'm on vacation.

Really? That didn't look like vacation to me.

Before he could ask again, the girl showed him the notebook once more.

Why are you doing this?

Lin Ling blinked a little, unsure of what she meant.

"Doing what exactly?"

The girl went back to writing in her notebook, looking a little impatient.

WHY ARE YOU HELPING ME?

Lin Ling's eyes widened. At first, he just wanted to play the role of a hero, to feel like one, but now...

I just...

Lin Ling smiled slightly.

"Honestly, you seemed like you needed help... and I think in this world of heroes, that's the most common thing."

Cyan's grip on the pencil loosened when she heard that. Another question written in the notebook

Are you a hero?

"No... but I would like to be one..."

Why do you want to be a hero?

"I think I just want to be someone cool in the eyes of others... helping someone is a step towards that, after all, that's what a cool guy does, right?"

Cyan felt bitter about this. This person is dreaming of something that is a nightmare for her. He doesn't know the truths of this world of heroes.

She decided to ask a strange question, but one that was bothering her.

Have you ever been told that you can't go against your destiny?

"Destiny..." Lin Ling lowered his head, thinking about the question.

After a few moments, he looked up with a serious expression on his face.

"Always. I've been told that I should be realistic. To them, someone like me should accept living the way they expect me to, but why give up when it's just difficult? I may fail? yes, but in the end, what matters is that I tried and didn't let them decide for me how far I can go... I still want to be a hero, and I will live for that, because that is the destiny I have chosen for myself.

There was a determined gleam in his eyes at the end of his speech.

She had only one more question in mind.

Do you know who I am?

Lin Ling smiled again, he began to understand where she was going with this.

"Tell me... who are you?"

Cyan felt a chill; she still had doubts. He seemed like someone faithful to his dreams. She didn't sense any falsehood in his words. Maybe her luck... isn't ridiculous and stupid...

Putting her notebook and pencil aside, she raised her head and looked into his eyes for the first time.

"My name is Cyan."
