It wasn't like the pale bluish ice around them. The girl's hair was a little richer than that, and it glistened like cerulean, catching the light along every strand.
It fell over her shoulders in loose waves, contrasting with the white hair of her sisters. She was watching Lancet intently, more intently than the others, with her hands resting on the edge of the board.
Opaline leaned closer to him. "Who are they?"
Lancet kept his voice low. "King Odesto's daughters."
Opaline looked at them again, now with considerably more interest. "All six of them?"
"I think so. The castle doesn't have a custom of inviting white-haired female strangers to play Monopoly in the royal residence, so I'm sure I'm pretty accurate."
She gave him a little nudge. "They're so pretty."
"Try not to stare. They're all variations of winter Mages so their gaze could freeze you."
Opaline smiled, obviously knowing he was kidding. "I'm not staring. I'm admiring."
