Chapter 4 - First Enemy

The battlefield had quieted, but the air still crackled with tension. Blue sparks lingered on my hands from yesterday's fight, and my heart was still racing. I wasn't afraid anymore. Not completely.

I had survived. I had power. And I was learning my place in this story.

1. A New Threat

The hero had left, but the world didn't rest.

A low growl echoed from behind a pile of broken stone. I turned slowly. Two figures emerged—creatures I had never seen in any story before. Sharp claws, glowing red eyes, and jagged teeth.

The system blinked:

ENEMY DETECTED

LEVEL: 3

DANGER: HIGH

I froze. My first real test alone. No hero to protect me. No one but the system.

2. Trusting the System

"Energy Burst?" I muttered.

A tiny spark of doubt ran through me. Yesterday, it had worked, but now the enemies were stronger, faster. I took a deep breath. The system's voice whispered in my mind:

"Use your powers wisely. Observe first. Then act."

I nodded. Focus. Observation first. Not rushing.

3. First Solo Battle

I raised my hand slowly. Blue energy swirled into a small sphere, hovering above my palm. The creatures advanced. Their claws slashed through the air.

I ducked and pushed the energy forward. The sphere exploded into a burst of force, knocking the creatures backward. They hissed, retreating slightly.

It worked. But the system warned:

WARNING: Enemy adaptation detected

I realized this fight wouldn't be easy. Every attack, every move, every choice mattered.

4. Learning and Growing

The system highlighted a new line:

ABILITY UNLOCKED: Mana Sense – Detect energy around enemies and environment

I felt it immediately. Red energy pulsing around the creatures, the tension in the air, even the faint traces of magic left on the ground.

"Not bad," I whispered to myself. "I'm not completely helpless."

Each small victory boosted my confidence. I wasn't the story's mistake anymore—I was a participant, a force that could survive.

5. Ending Hook

The creatures lunged again, faster than before. I held up my hands, blue sparks crackling around me.

From a distance, I felt a shadow. Another presence approaching. Friend or foe? I didn't know.

But I knew one thing:

The story had never expected me to fight.

Now, I wasn't just surviving—I was rewriting it.
