Inside the Great Hall, it was a lively scene. Today's Halloween feast was different from usual, with a group of children wearing animal masks. They handed out candy to everyone they met.
In fact, two lions bought a good amount of candy and distributed it to the Professors one by one. Everyone recognized Fred and George from their bright red manes.
"Professor McGonagall, Happy Halloween."
Their creations earned praise from Professor McGonagall, but she also asked if they were running another small business. However, the Weasley Brothers wouldn't admit it, quickly turning their attention, beaming, to Professor Sprout.
"Professor Sprout, Happy Halloween."
"Happy Halloween, children." Professor Sprout smiled broadly, "Thank you for the candy."
Basically, every Professor received candy from the twins, even Snape, though… it was clear he received much less than the other Professors.
"Candy and Halloween…"
Snape, having grown up in the Muggle world, naturally knew the candy tradition. As he thought, he gently picked up a filled chocolate, his thoughts drifting.
It was during his first year, in a corridor of the Castle.
Which floor, which exact spot, the Halloween decorations around… it was all too blurry.
But that wisp of red hair, stirred by the evening breeze from the window, those eyes curved like the moon, that dimple… "Severus, guess what's in my hand? If you guess right, it's yours."
"It's not toffee, it's filled chocolate, but it's still yours."
"Happy Halloween."
He took a deep breath. He didn't know why, but lately, various scenes from decades ago kept replaying in his mind… Boom—!!!
The doors of the Great Hall suddenly burst open, and Professor Quirrell, his head wrapped in a purple turban, rushed into the dining room, his face filled with terror. Instantly, all eyes focused on him.
He gasped, looking at the high table, and stammered in fright, "Troll… in the dungeons… I thought you ought to know!"
With that, he collapsed onto the floor, unconscious.
The dining room immediately descended into chaos, everyone in a panic. Dumbledore rose and raised his wand, and several piercing fireworks exploded throughout the Great Hall.
"Prefects!" His voice was clearly amplified by a Sonorus Charm, deep and immensely resonant.
"Lead your house students to their dormitories at once!"
Seeing that the chaotic order had somewhat returned, Dumbledore turned to Snape at the high table and spoke softly.
"Severus."
Snape gave an almost imperceptible nod, or perhaps he gave no response at all, simply standing up and quickly walking out.
"Filius, would you mind taking Quirrell to the infirmary? He's clearly terrified," Dumbledore said.
"Gladly." Professor Flitwick hopped off his chair, raised his hand, and with a slight flick of his fingers, Quirrell floated into the air, being carried towards the infirmary.
Dumbledore sighed, looking at the chaotic Great Hall, then suddenly realized, "By the way, where is Howl?"
…In the wide corridor, a smell of old socks mixed with vomit permeated the air. A massive creature, twelve feet tall, with dull, granite-grey skin, was charging wildly.
Its enormous, clumsy body was like a huge pile of rubble, topped with a small, cocoa-bean-like head. Its short legs were as thick as tree stumps, with flat, calloused feet below, and it dragged a wooden club larger than a man.
Suddenly, among the two figures fleeing ahead, one seemed to twist an ankle due to their hurried steps and fell to the ground.
"Hermione!" Harry shouted, quickly turning to help her up.
However, the massive Mountain Troll was already upon them. It raised its enormous wooden club, seemingly imbued with unmatched power.
Then, it brought it down heavily.
"Wingardium Leviosa!!"
Boom—!!
For a moment, it seemed the entire Castle shook. To the side, Hermione, who had been pushed away by Harry after a Levitation Charm was cast on her, crashed against the wall.
Fortunately, due to the Levitation Charm, she wasn't seriously injured.
Harry quickly rolled over, looking at the Troll's hand, which held the huge wooden club, about to be raised again.
Just now, in that instant—
He seemed to have seen Hermione dying before his eyes.
His entire face became expressionless, yet the occasional twitching of his facial muscles indicated an unspeakable rage beneath, and black flames seemed to ignite in his eyes.
He swung his right hand to his left hip, and with a clang, a sharp, unparalleled blue steel longsword appeared in his hand.
The next moment—Boom!
Flames blazed on the longsword, and a spell enhancement, derived from the Severing Charm, worked within the blade.
As he thought, the greatsword came down heavily, flesh splattered, and a large chunk of foul-smelling meat was gouged from the Troll's arm.
A piercing roar echoed throughout the Castle, and the brutal, savage instinct within its flesh was unleashed at this moment.
Harry's figure flickered, and he quickly led the Troll towards the Castle lawn outside the corridor.
"Harry!" Hermione shrieked in fear. She forced herself to stand, raising her wand.
However, her mind was a mess, and the few spells she knew were of no use at this moment.
On Harry's side, under the moonlight, he watched the roaring Troll charging towards him. He flicked his left robe, and his wand appeared in his hand.
The next moment, the Troll's unprovoked wail sounded.
The shattered fluid from its eyeballs fell through the air, outlining the shape of two awls.
"Not bad!" A soft praise sounded without warning… "Leg-Locker Curse!!" Hermione found a spell that could be used here. The Troll's legs involuntarily drew inwards for a moment.
Panic was in Hermione's eyes. The spell's effect was far weaker than she imagined; it was completely insufficient to bring the Troll down.
However—it was enough!!
"Wingardium Leviosa!"
Harry cast another Levitation Charm, his entire body becoming light. He leaped high, even higher than the Troll, like a moonwalk.
"Petrificus Totalus—" Hermione's spell quickly landed on the Troll.
"Engorgement Charm—"
Harry raised his longsword with both hands, and the moment he brought it down to strike the Troll, the entire longsword became enormous, and the added gravitational potential energy seemed even more terrifying.
"Roar!!!"
Blood splattered all over Harry, warm and foul-smelling blood covering his face.
Around the corner, a terrified scream rang out. Draco's pale face looked even more bloodless under the moonlight.
Then, he saw the enormous body collapse with a crash, and the figure standing triumphantly on the Troll's massive form.
The collapsed Troll seemed to have no effect on the person's balance. No, that's not right!!
It should be said that he was meant to stand there.
The victor was meant to stand on the corpse of his prey.
Draco couldn't make out who it was, because he was backlit by the bright, silvery moonlight.
He could only see drops of blood falling from the hanging longsword.
After discussing with the editor, we decided to change the book title to "Hogwarts: The Cat Wizard of the Moving Castle." Dear readers, please remember this.
