Yet the residuals remained, unchanged by the declaration of "end".
They did not decay. They did not escalate.
They persisted, outside the system's definition of time.
The system attempted escalation.

Reality did not.
The system flagged a contradiction:

This should not be possible.
If an effect persists, the state must still be open.
If the state is closed, the effect must terminate.

The label did not explain. It contained.
