Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

The moment the explosion shook the ground, panic swallowed everything.

Screams tore through the air.

People ran in every direction—pushing, falling, shouting. Smoke rose, metal groaned, and the world felt like it was breaking apart.

Rian didn't hesitate.

He sprinted straight toward the collapsing building, ignoring the cries behind him.

"Rian!" Yunho shouted, already moving to follow—

Suddenly – A hand clamped down on his shoulder.

"What are you doing here?!" his father barked, yanking him back. "Move away!"

"Let go!" Yunho struggled, but the grip tightened, unyielding.

Not far from them, Yurim stood frozen.

Her eyes followed the path Rian had taken, but her body refused to move. Her heartbeat thundered in her ears, the screams around her fading into a dull blur.

'If I go there… I might die too."

Her hands trembled. Her legs wouldn't respond. A heavy crash echoed from the building, and she flinched, fear locking her in place.

Then—movement.

High above the chaos.

Her gaze lifted to a nearby rooftop.

Someone was standing at the edge.

Yurim's breath caught. Even from this distance, she recognized the silhouette. The familiar curve of the shoulders.

"…Grandmother?"

Her chest tightened.

She looked back toward the building Rian had disappeared into—then up again.

She couldn't just stand there anymore.

Before fear could stop her again, Yurim ran.

Inside the building, smoke burned Rian's lungs.

Dust coated the air, debris littering the halls.

A weak groan stopped him.

A man lay pinned beneath broken wood, blood seeping from his arm.

"Hold on," Rian said, forcing the debris away. He pulled the man up, half-dragging him toward the exit.

"Stay here," he ordered, leaving him near the door.

Then Rian turned back.

Through a shattered window, he saw a figure on a rooftop across from the building.

His eyes narrowed.

…Grandmother?
