Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Chapter 1

The largest of the flower-shaped islands in the Boin Archipelago—the one known as the Stomach Baron—was already rumbling with hunger. Its central maw, a bottomless abyss, slowly opened wider, preparing to retract its petals and begin the feast.

Victor, freshly transmigrated, was still lost in sleep.

Then the ground shook violently. He jolted awake, eyes wide with confusion.

"What the—? An earthquake? Where even am I?"

The tremors intensified. Trees swayed, the earth tilted. At first, he thought it was just a quake, but something felt deeply wrong. The surrounding forest—lush, vibrant, dotted with strange plants—didn't match anything from his old life.

Distant roars echoed—deep, guttural, from massive creatures nearby.

Victor snapped fully alert, mind racing to stay calm. "Okay, wild animals. The shaking's getting worse—the ground's tilting faster. This isn't good."

He scanned for safety. That's when he saw it: a gigantic carnivorous plant folding its petals inward like a Venus flytrap on steroids.

"Holy crap—man-eating flowers?!"

He leaped to his feet in panic—and immediately froze. That jump… he'd cleared several meters effortlessly.

"Wait… I jumped that high? My body feels… off. Way too strong. Too tall. Too… handsome?"

He quickly patted himself down. This wasn't his old body. Younger, fitter, more chiseled. Power coursed through every muscle.

"Damn, this feels incredible. But no time to admire the upgrade—survive first."

Another roar. The ground tilted to a sharp 45 degrees, accelerating. The entire "island" was closing.

"No choice." Victor dashed forward, slapped aside a reaching tendril from a smaller man-eating plant, yanked its vine free, and vaulted onto a massive tree trunk. He swiftly wrapped the vine around himself and the branch—loose enough to escape if needed, tight enough to hold.

Just in time.

The Stomach Baron's petals fully retracted. Sea kings, oversized beasts, and unlucky animals slid helplessly toward the gaping central mouth, tumbling into the abyss.

Victor watched the entire process, jaw slack.

"No way… This is the Boin Archipelago. The Stomach Baron. I transmigrated into One Piece? After a nap? I'm basically livestock on a giant plant?!"

Realization hit, but instead of fear, excitement surged.

"Hahaha! No more 9-to-5 slave life! Freedom at last! Drum of liberation, beat on!"

He grinned at the endless bounty around him. "And food—endless, no-cooking-required food. Perfect for an eater like me."

Once the island settled, Victor calmed down and focused inward.

First, the body check confirmed: name's Victor here too. Memories were sparse—just the name. Fine by him.

Then the real jackpot: an immense inner spatial pocket (limitless, easily big enough to swallow the whole Boin Archipelago), and the Devouring Talent—eat anything, digest it, grow stronger. No limits mentioned.

"Hell yeah! This is broken. If I get my hands on a Glutton-Glutton Fruit… unstoppable."

He could sense the space like an extension of himself—vast, empty, ready.

"Time to test it."

With a thought, he targeted nearby fruits and meats. Whoosh—they vanished from view and reappeared inside the pocket.

"Works! Now living things…"

More tests: live capture possible, but no air inside—anything alive suffocates fast. Range tied to vision and focus—currently about 100 meters max.

"Vision-based for now. If I awaken Observation Haki later… maybe blind spots too. Nice."

Next: the Devouring Talent.

He grabbed a huge chunk of fresh meat from a nearby plant and bit in. Hunger hit hard anyway.

The food hit his stomach—and vanished almost instantly. Digestion was freakishly fast. Strength flooded his muscles, subtle but unmistakable.

"Hahaha! This is insane. Eat more, get stronger forever. And the digestion never slows—I can keep going."

The Boin Archipelago was paradise for this: infinite natural gourmet food everywhere. He could eat non-stop, train his body, grow endlessly.

Sure, the man-eating plants and giant insects were dangerous—but with his new speed and strength, the smaller ones were no threat. He could dodge, counter, devour them too.

No training manual yet, but if he ever reached the Navy or found a master… Rokushiki would be next-level here.

For now? Eat. Grow. Survive.

And enjoy the ride.
