Some time passed or should I say should have passed, it was hard to distinguish between days and nights. There wasn't a sun nor a moon going around to see, instead all I saw was space and anything related to galaxies and stars. The moons and suns were all in different places, never a pattern.
"Planko."
Planko flew around me quickly, stopping in front of me. Now in his small bunny body.
"yes, master"
"I've been wondering since I woke up, how come I didn't wake up with my body over there?"
Planko smiled "your body needed rest so I put you in the most suitable person, with something you would enjoy doing while your body rested."
"I see, it seems like everything over there is also intact as well. Why don't we stay there again for a while. It was really nice to go back home. I'd like to go find out what happened to my parents as well."
Planko thought about it but didn't answer. I looked at him more intensely but he still didn't say anything.
" Planko I've been here since I woke up,I feel better and staying here is boring. Can't we go out?"
" We can go to the other dimensions, let's wait to go back to earth. It seems like something is wrong to go back right now.
We should go to gate 8 if you're bored. They have the best fruits there. They've also been waiting to have a meeting as well, this would be a good opportunity to just visit them."
Planko pulled out a magic staff and waved it, a blast of wind hit us, and a yellow gate appeared in front of us. It seemed normal to open, there was no double thinking about going in. It felt normal. I had no fear, it was as it was normal so why when the other gate opened did I hesitate to go in.
the place I was sitting on was high up with big pillars going around the room and the chair I was sitting on seemed like a throne made for a king, it overlooked the hall. the above was glass, and the walls on the side were so clear you couldn't tell there were barriers or some kind of glass. You could see more than galaxies and stars. It really did look like a palace in the middle of the space where no one could enter it.
"It's open master, sorry for the wait. I'm not as strong as you so it takes me a bit. Once you're fully adapted to your body again, you'll also be able to open the ports again master."
I looked at him and nodded my head
"Its fine lets just go"
As I got up I felt light as a feather but I was still having trouble lifting up my wings. They were heavy so they just dragged down they seemed like a cape.
" Do you need help, master?"
"No"
Planko tilted his head and grabbed the back of my wings.
"I'll lighten them up for you."
And as he said it they really did get lighter. I was now able to move them around more freely. I looked at Planko and thanked him.
"We should get going, they've been waiting to see you. I told them you haven't been feeling well so they understand."
As we walked into what seemed like a gate Planko went off first it was a fuzzy sensation passing through the gate.
"Welcome to 'Frostwhisper' master. We should head to the front gates so they'll know we're here."
It was a beautiful sight in the middle of the winter biome where the trees seemed like they were part of the sky. As I walked I looked around. They were all human monsters, they were all kind and acted just like regular people.
A young human-wolf monster appeared in front of us. He kneeled down.
" Young master, you'll be escorted by our best knight." I looked at the young guy and just nodded. Planko looked at me. And whispered
"There's nothing to be nervous about, they have helped you for generations master."
"I see."
Then a young older gentleman arrived in a carriage. Welcome back to 'Frostwhisper' . I hope your arrival was smooth. We heard you haven't been feeling well please don't hesitate to ask for anything. I'll be glad to guide you wherever you pleased to go in our kingdom. Feel free to call me. Don't hesitate to ask me anything."
"Im Don, it's a pleasure to be serving you
As I was about to open my mouth, I was put into the carriage and taken to the entry of the pales in seconds. It felt like a strong wind blew towards us and then we were at the front gates. I won't lie, I was surprised at how fast we arrived in the carriage. I might get one if it's like this.
"For someone as young as you, you're a very reliable chauffeur. Moving that fast and being able to control that, it's amazing.." Planko said, smiling.
Don looked at my direction waiting to see what I would say. I felt a bit embarrassed but.
"Like Planko said, It was very impressive that you brought us here safely with that speed."
You could tell that Don was trying not to smile, as I walked out of it I was greeted by more nights. They seemed very strong for their kind. Then Planko nudged me.
"Master, Sr. Varyx is waiting for you. We should get going."
"Alright . . . "
Every time I tried to enjoy something, I was always pushed away from it. I don't understand why I've been treated like I was higher than them. The place where I was in was empty, no one was around, just me and Planko.
"Astor It's been a while, are you feeling better? I heard you fell into a deep sleep."
A calm and strong voice came from behind me, I turned to see who it was.
"Sr. Varyx," Planko moved in front of me, "we were just on our way to find you." Planko moved towards him."
"I see Planko, I wanted to greet you two in the front gaits but when i got there you two were already here."
"Sr. Varyx, my master is still recovering, his memory is still fuzzy. Can you help him out as well?"
Sr. Varyx looked at me with a serious face, he looked more angry than calm. But he looked very excited. It made me feel uneasy. Planko just smiled at him and at me.
"Of course, how can I refuse my friend here. I've gone many times to go see you, but I was only met with he's currently unavailable". Varyx walked up closer to me." But now that you're awake my friend, why don't you and I have a little fun just like back then?"
I started to wonder what "fun" was because it looked like he wanted to kill me. He pulled out a huge sword out of his pocket, it must have been small enough to fit and turned huge when he pulled it out or something.
Planko didn't even react; he was just encouraging us to continue.
"Don't tell me you forgot how we played Astor? You loved playing this game."
I moved back by instinct. As he started to run over to me I pulled out whatever I had stored. Sadly enough all I had was a small ax. As the sword came closer to me I instinctively threw the ax to it, breaking the sword with the ax.
A gust of wind hit us. Varyx started laughing while I was still confused with what just happened.
" I can't believe even after not being in full health you can still beat me. Uhffff . . " He looked down at the broken sword.
"But to easily break your own creation like that, it's very impressive. He put both thumbs up smiling.
"Well, it's kinda sad to see my sword broken. I hope you'll be able to fix it whenever you're free. I heard you were at earth Astor how was it?
Varyx walked up to me extending his hand to help me. I took it and was flunged up.
"Earth was nice."
Varyx crossed his arms "it was nice?"
" I heard that the human race were the self-centered, rudest, and hypocrite types. I was wondering if they were rude to you.
Planko joined in "well he was indeed there but he wasn't physically actually there he was using someone else's body. I wouldn't want my master to get hurt and disrespected in such a low place."
"Oh how smart of you Planko. I was wondering if he was fully physically there." Varyx looked at me.
"So tell me, are human beings weak or strong?"
"The humans I met were all weak. . . But."
Planko and Varyx stared at me with wide eyes waiting to hear what else I was going to say.
"But? What?"
"Well, it seems like if they really wanted to they could become stronger than what they are."
"OOHHHh!!! That's right!!! you used to be human. How could I forget!!! Forgive me for forgetting Astor."
I looked at him " yeah I used to be. . ."
" I have forgotten how time works and a year there is thousands of years here. And yet you were the lucky one to be favored by all. I'll never forget the first time we met. I really thought I could beat you. A young baby human. Ahh you were so cute back then."
He looked at me up and down and put his hand up to his mouth thinking about something. "Well, you're still cute looking after all this time."
I flushed hearing that, l-I was not a baby, I was 19 years old." I turned to Planko
"Right Planko!!"
"Indeed you were master. You were a young human adult."
"Yeah! See a young adult."
Varyx turned his head. "19 is still a baby here. You know that. There's no one who's younger than 400 years old and you!"
He pinched my cheeks hard
"You are still a young baby reaching 26 years of age. You left home too young because you wanted to learn more. You're lucky you're not dead."
Varyx kept blabbering on and on but stopped
"But how did a human like you turn into"this "? He pointed at my wings.
"Oh my wings, well some awakened people on earth got different abilities. Both my father and mom had wings, my father on his back and my mother on her head. I'm able to hide them from people whenever I feel like it so that's why when we first met you didn't see them."
"Uhm, so there are some special humans on earth."
" yes."
"So I'm guessing all the time you've spent here made you what you are a "monster" like us."
A "Monster" uhhh. . . I thought about it for a bit, well everything and everyone I've met here, they've always been good to me. The more time I spend here the more I remembered. Being called a monster didn't really affect me. Even my own kind called me a monster. Those " people " were really the worst.
"Perhaps, I've trained with anyone I meet, made connections, and friendships. I wouldn't be surprised if I was considered one."
"Ohhh Astor!!! You're the best thing that happened to all of us, I think if it wasn't for your creating skill we would've been wiped out. I remember another young man just like you. They were one of the strongest creators out there and your skills are almost like his. I'm impressed by how alike you two are. But he wasn't a human like you, he was something that nobody would ever want to mess with, instead they tried to befriend him so they wouldn't be in odds with him. Who knows what he would have done if he got angry."
'Someone like me, but not human.' Varyx looked out the window and grabbed Planko. And pointed outside.
" Can you go get that real quick?"
I couldn't see what he was pointing at, but Planko shook his head and left. " Astor, come here."
Man if I didn't know him better, it seems like he just wanted to have a serious conversation about something. I made my way to him.
"Is something wrong Varyx?"
"No, but, I've always felt like," he stopped talking and looked at me.
"Astor, what happened to you? you slept for decades."
"What are you talking about? It hasn't been for decades." It was only around 9-10 months. . Right?"
"Maybe on earth but not here. Everyone was concerned about you, and Planko refused to answer anything we asked. He moved you to another location, cut all contacts off and refused everyone from entering your estate."
"It wasn't only that but 100 years before you awoke that he sent me a message asking for help with opening a port on earth."
" I think he wants to get rid of it. Did something happen while you were there? You know better than us that Planko doesn't take action on free will. He lives only for you and gets rid of anything that could potentially harm you, if it's threatening."
I looked at him confused. It was surprising to hear that Planko would even think about something like that.
"Nothing really happened, but there was someone that he said that wasn't supposed to be there. Before passing out and coming back here he got in a fight with him. I'm not sure what happened but Planko did come back an hour later than he said."
"Someone who wasn't supposed to be there? Who was it."
"My mind is a bit foggy but I think their name was Sylvester. He's a young guy with . . ." The more I thought about it the more I couldn't remember. He just looked foggy. "I'm sorry but that's all I recall. He was a young man that was younger than me."
"Sylvester? What was he? A regular human?"
" a hunter I believe."
"Hunter?"
" Yes, someone who protects the people from monsters like us, I guess."
Varyx laughed loudly " you're getting quite bold talking like that Astor."
As we chatted about some plans about future things a knight entered into the room we were in.
"MY KING!! I'm sorry to interrupt you but some humans have entered the town and are attacking our people."
Varyx looked at him and said "beat them until they pass out but don't kill them, we don't want to start a war with such a weak species."
"Understood!!! MY KING!!!"
"Where is Planko? Get him over here. We can't have Astor alone when he is still not fully recovered."
"Planko, my king, is also participating in the fight."
" He is? How odd of him, that's not like him. Is there a high level human there?"
" Yes my king, there are 2 high level humans. One with what seems like brown hair and gray eyes and another with dark hair and red eyes. Sr. Planko is taking care of those two right now."
I stood up "Where is he right now?" I looked at the knight seriously.
The knight looked down "I'll guide you to them young master."
"Astor, why would you go if you're not well? Just let him take care of it."
" . . . Planko is still immature for someone who doesn't hesitate to attack on what he thinks is dangerous like you said. Let's go talk to those humans and let them leave without killing them. I'll heal your people once they leave."
Varyx rolled his eye's. "Fine, let's go but if Planko gets mad I'm blaming you. He's quite a hot head."
"I don't think he'll get that angry at me."
"He must be in his human form, he's not the type to show his lil bunny form out. It's kinda scary to see a small bunny with a body like that. Especially when he's angry."
"Of course he won't show his bunny side, He's not allowed to show that form to any human. knowing how they are they would just want to capture him and use him until they have no use for him. They have away's done that. "
The knight teleported us near the fight. We weren't in it and weren't out. From the distance anyone would know that we were there, watching what was going on. You could feel the tension once we arrived there.
I saw Planko just freeze in place when I found him. It was as if he knew that I came to take him away. Although he was fighting he was still going very easy on them. Just knocking them out. Knowing that I let him be and looked away to another place, but there was something that I couldn't shake off. Varyx grabbed my arm.
"Look at this, that guy's technique is incredible, are these the hunters you told me about?"
I looked over to see a familiar figure. He looked just like that guy I used to be close to Harrie? I think.
"No, that was one. . "I pointed towards him. That one is weaker than the one I told you about."
I looked at him closely
"Uhmm. . "
"What?"
"Want to go play with him, Aster?"
" Play? no, I don't want to play. Do you just want to go see them up close?"
"Maybe, you keep looking over there. Don't tell me you like them. hahah"
"Its nothing like that they just look familiar, he might have been someone I met back on earth."
Varyx grabbed me and jumped off the tower we were on and dragged me where they were fighting.
"Let's go take a look closer and see if you know them."
"But, I don't want to see them. I don't even think they'll even remember a dead person."
As we got closer the more nervous I felt, it's not like I didn't remember them. It has been a while since I last met him but. I guess I was just nervous to see someone whom I spent a lot of time with. But then. .
"Harrison, WATCH OUT!! Those monsters are heading your way!!"
Harrison turned our way. I don't know why I thought I would be greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. I should have known better and told Varyx to " go back". But instead I was hit with reality. He wasn't the Harrie I knew and I wasn't the person he also new.
Varyx's understanding, quickly what was about to happen, stopped.
"I thought you said you knew them."
Varyx was now in front of me. In case someone tried attacking us. Even if they did try we would know before they even tried anything.
"I did. But I'm not the person he knows. He knows 'Theodore' not Astor."
"That's right, it wasn't your original body. Did it also censor your name as well?"
"I believe so, but I think there was a hunter who actually heard my name."
"Who??? what? Astor you need to finish your sentences. You need to learn to finish them"
"The one who's in a fight with Planko right now sylvester. The one he said that wasn't supposed to be there."
As we turned around I felt someone approaching us. It was Harrie.
"You, where are you from? You don't seem to be from here. What's your kind?"
I looked back at him. As I was about to answer, there was a sword near my neck. I turned to look over to Varyx. He was kicked very hard to the point he passed out who was pushed back from the kick. But who? Who would be that strong enough to push him that far? Was Harrie's question a distraction on us? Than what about–
"So, you must be the big boss here. Seeing how much energy you give off, but you seem much weaker than I thought."
It was a voice I knew, it was sylvester. But yet I didn't answer the question but instead ask one back.
"What did you do to him?"
"Who? The guy behind you?"
"No. Dark gray hair, tall as you, freckles, with the staff. Where is he?"
"Oh him, I took him out."
"Took him out? That's impossible. He dislikes things like that, especially dirty 'things'. I looked around seeing the mess that was created around. Humans are one of the most disgusting creatures out there even if you guys were blessed to have awakened and given an advantage, you guys only know how to fuck up the only good thing."
I brought my arm up and snapped my finger. All you could hear was a
-SNAP-
And the ground started reforming around. Varyx at this point had woken up and looked at me.
"Astor, aren't you sick? You shouldn't use your energy like this. What are you-"
Then i felt a hand grab me, it was harrie but before i reacted sylvester grabbed my other hand pinning me down .
"How lucky of us to find something this strong you remind me of my friend".
Before I knew it I was chained up with special chains that drained my energy making me weaker. But as I drifted off Varyx ended up beating them and taking me back. Planko had also arrived and opened a port right behind them and pushed them back into it.
Varyx looked at Planko. "What took you so long? He was in danger!!"
"It seems like they have cheated their way up here. The humans are not supposed to be here for another couple of years. They must have done something to come here...
