The first day of the Trailblaze journey.
Under March's strict supervision, Stelle did not touch a second trash can.
"Ha… so tired. I just want to pass out on a soft bed."
At the Goethe Hotel, under the bright lobby lights, March yawned lazily.
Stelle: (O_o)
"What's with that look? Trash cans aren't treasure chests. Not treasure chests. Do you think I got this tired for nothing?"
Stelle said nothing. But when she saw Dan Heng check in three room cards at the front desk, a subtle smile crept onto her face.
"Stop. I know what you're thinking. 'March, March, you can't restrain me anymore. Once I'm in my own room, lock the door, I'll be free to flip trash cans.' Right? One hundred percent."
Busted.
After confiscating the last trash can, March kindly left her a few empty garbage bags. The Stellaron baby's face filled with regret.
"They're right online. Taking care of kids really is exhausting." March muttered outside the door. "I had amnesia too. How come I wasn't this obsessed with trash cans?"
The Sage of Bins, Jin Lajitzde, once said: one needs a whole day of wakefulness for a whole night of rest.
You did great today. Your opponent just did better, so you did not get to touch any trash cans. No matter what, a healthy body is the foundation of struggle.
Sleep well. Tomorrow, continue writing March 7th Does Not Want Me to Flip Trash Cans: The Astral Express Trash Can War.
Stelle lay down on the soft bed.
For adults used to staying up late, lying in bed often meant getting more awake. But for a Stellaron baby less than three days old, it was not a problem.
"One trash can. Two March 7ths. Three trash cans… twenty-two March 7ths. Twenty-three trash cans…"
She fell asleep at the twenty-third trash can.
She dreamed.
She dreamed she planted garbage bags on the train. In spring, trash cans covered the entire train. No mere March could stop her from playing with her trash can friends.
My dear Elysia, can you do this or not? You're already 0-3. Keep playing like this and your teammates will report you.
A girl's meowing voice echoed in Stelle's ears. It sounded nice, but the content was oddly rich.
Wow. Cat paws are cute, but so inconvenient. I'm done, I'm done. Waaah.
Wait a moment. Stelle seems about to wake up.
Aww, so cute. Rolling around and mumbling meows in her sleep. Was I like this too when I turned into a cat?
So.
When the Stellaron baby opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was an adorable oversized cat face.
Pure white and dreamy pink fur.
A round face, chubby cheeks, slender body, pretty whiskers, clear big eyes. This cat reminded her of someone she once knew on the Astral Express.
March 7th.
Haki Three. You jerk. Even in my dreams, you oppose me.
"Hi there, cute little kitty," the cat with March-like colors meowed.
"March…"
In the dream, you even turned into a cat. Now you definitely can't stop me from playing with trash cans.
Stelle tried to let out an evil laugh like the villains in Memoirs of Jin Lajitzde, but only a meow came out. She looked at her hands and saw pink cat paws.
Stelle: (⊙_⊙)
I turned into a cat too?
Could it be that what March said on the train was true?
The Astral Express is full of hidden masters. Every passenger has hidden power. I look like an ordinary cute girl, but I'm actually a magical girl. I just don't show it because my transformation is too cool.
It was real.
Not joking?
Stelle was obsessed with trash cans, packed herself into luggage, froze her tongue licking fences. All very abstract and dumb.
But she was actually a genius.
You cannot judge a less-than-three-days-old Stellaron baby by adult standards. Compared horizontally, Stelle surpassed 99.9 percent of her peers. (T/N: Compared horizontally lmao)
Even the famous Lady Herta probably could not match her at three days old.
In one second, Stelle accepted being turned into a cat and drafted a plan titled Playing With Trash Cans Right in Front of March Cat.
Then.
"Meow…?" The pink cat across from her looked confused, staring above her head.
Stelle followed her gaze and was suddenly scooped up, landing in a soft, fragrant embrace.
"Meow!"
Stelle Cat panicked, squirming like liquid, only to realize she was being held by a beautiful girl.
Delicate features, fair skin, graceful brows.
That alone was not special. Stelle had seen many beauties. March, Herta the puppet, Asta. None lost to this girl in looks.
But this girl had white hair.
Kiyono Inori's hair was actually overexposed flaxen blond that looked pale, not true white. But how could a three-day-old Stellaron baby tell the difference?
Stelle: wow, white-haired beauty (?﹃?)
Their eyes met. Stelle Cat grew shy and looked away.
The girl's lips curved slightly as she glanced provocatively at Elysia Cat, who puffed her cheeks.
"Stelle. I know your name."
"Wh… who are you, meow?"
"I'm Kiyono Inori. That cat is Elysia. She's not the March you know."
She explained patiently. "In short, you were summoned to this world. You can think of it as traveling here, just as a cat."
"But don't worry. You can go back. As long as you fall asleep here, you'll return to your world and meet your Astral Express companions. And when you fall asleep there, you'll come back here to see me and this Elysia Cat."
She smiled warmly.
"Hey, Inori-chan. That smile. You're luring this beautiful-girl-turned-cat, aren't you? Very bad. Stelle, don't trust her. She's a bad sister who turns beautiful girls into cats and then bathes them, meow."
Elysia Cat protested dramatically, freshly washed.
"Oh? Are you jealous?"
"I am not, meow!"
Elysia Cat meowed loudly on purpose.
