Chapter 113 - CHAPTER 113: FORCED WEDDING.

The hotel hall shimmered with borrowed elegance.

White drapes.

Gold accents.

Rows of chairs filled with people who didn't belong to the moment—

only to the spectacle.

At the center—

an altar dressed in perfection.

And standing there—

Min-Soo.

Smiling.

Like this was love.

It wasn't.

At the entrance—

Ji-Ah stood frozen.

The wedding dress fit her like a dream—

soft white layers cascading to the floor, delicate lace hugging her arms, the fabric catching every light like it was made for someone cherished.

But her face—

told the truth.

Tears.

Fear.

Defiance.

Beside her—

Min-Soo's father.

Mr. Min looked… trapped.

His suit was immaculate.

His posture stiff.

His eyes filled with something between anger and helplessness.

Because just a few steps behind—

guards.

Watching.

Ensuring.

"Walk," Min-Soo said coldly.

Ji-Ah shook her head slightly.

"…No…"

A hand tightened on her arm.

"Walk."

And so—

she did.

Step by step.

Down the aisle.

Her voice broke softly with each step—

"Ha-Joon…"

Another step.

"…Where are you…"

Guests shifted uncomfortably.

Whispers rippled like cracks in glass.

"Come on…" she whispered under her breath, barely audible.

"…please…"

At the altar—

Min-Soo waited.

The officiant stood between them—

a man hired for legality, not morality.

"We gather here today—" he began, voice steady, rehearsed.

Ji-Ah's hands trembled.

Her eyes darted toward the doors.

Nothing.

Min-Soo's smile widened.

The ceremony moved forward—

fast.

Too fast.

Documents were brought forward.

"Family registration will be completed following the union," the officiant continued. "Witnesses present—"

Two men stepped forward.

Silent.

Complicit.

"Do you, Min-Soo, take—"

"I do."

Too quick.

Too eager.

The officiant turned.

"And do you—"

Silence.

Ji-Ah didn't speak.

Her lips trembled.

"Answer," Min-Soo muttered under his breath.

She shook her head.

"No—"

His hand tightened around hers.

Hard.

"Say it."

Tears slipped down her cheeks.

"I—"

Her voice broke.

"I…"

"Say it," Mrs. Min hissed from the side.

The room pressed in.

The air—

too heavy.

Ji-Ah closed her eyes.

"I…"

And then—

BANG.

The doors exploded open.

Every head turned.

Standing there—

breathing hard—

drenched in rain—

Ha-Joon.

His hair messy.

Black t-shirt clinging slightly from the rain, sleeves rolled up.

Black jeans.

Water dripping from him onto the polished floor—

but somehow—

he looked like the only real thing in the room.

His eyes—

locked on her.

"Let her go."

Silence shattered.

Min-Soo laughed.

"You're late."

Ha-Joon stepped forward.

Slow.

Dangerous.

"I said," his voice dropped—

cold enough to cut—

"Let her go."

Min-Soo's smile twisted.

"Or what?"

That was enough.

Ha-Joon moved.

Fast.

His fist connected first—

sharp.

Clean.

Min-Soo stumbled back.

Chaos erupted.

Guards rushed in—

Ha-Joon didn't stop.

One came at him—

he blocked—

turned—

struck—

another down.

The room dissolved into noise—

shouting—

chairs scraping—

glass breaking somewhere in the back.

Min-Soo lunged—

They collided.

Fists.

Force.

Anger.

"You think you can take her?" Min-Soo spat.

Ha-Joon didn't answer—

just hit him again.

Harder.

Across the room—

Mrs. Min rushed toward Ji-Ah.

"You ungrateful girl—!"

She grabbed her—

Ji-Ah reacted instantly.

Twisted.

Pulled free—

then—

crack.

Mrs. Min cried out—

stumbling back, clutching her wrist.

Ji-Ah didn't wait.

She ran.

Straight into Ha-Joon—

He caught her immediately.

One arm pulling her behind him.

"It's okay," he said quickly, breath uneven. "I'm here."

Her grip tightened on his shirt.

"I knew you'd come…"

Behind them—

Min-Soo struggled up again.

Rage burning.

"This isn't over!"

Ha-Joon didn't even look at him.

"It is."

Meanwhile — Kim Residence

Lights.

Cameras.

Voices overlapping like a storm.

Press flooded the entrance.

"Is it true—?"

"Mr. Ha-Joon left his own engagement party—?"

"Was he seen rescuing another woman?"

At the center—

Min-Ji.

Perfect.

Still.

But her eyes—

not calm.

"Miss Min-Ji!" a reporter pushed forward. "Is it true your fiancé left to save another woman?"

Silence.

Another voice—

"Is she just an employee?"

"And what does that say about your relationship?"

Cameras flashed.

Madam stood nearby—

expression tight.

Halmoni watched—

quiet.

Observing everything.

Min-Ji finally spoke.

"…I have nothing to say."

But the damage—

already done.

Because somewhere—

in a rain-soaked hotel—

The perfect story—

had just been rewritten.

Rain turned the hotel into an island.

Water hammered the glass, ran in silver sheets down the walls, drowned out the last whispers of guests fleeing the wreck of a wedding.

Inside—

it wasn't over.

Min-Soo staggered back to his feet, blood at the corner of his mouth, eyes blazing like a storm that refused to end.

"You think this ends here?" he spat.

Ha-Joon didn't move.

Ji-Ah still behind him.

Safe.

For now.

"It already did," Ha-Joon replied, voice low.

Min-Soo laughed—sharp, broken.

"Guards!"

Two men rushed forward again—

but this time—

sirens.

Distant at first.

Then louder.

Closer.

Min-Soo's expression flickered.

Police burst in.

Commands shouted.

Hands grabbed.

Within minutes—

it was over.

Min-Soo restrained.

Still struggling.

Still shouting—

"This isn't finished, Ha-Joon!"

His voice echoed as they dragged him away.

Mrs. Min followed, clutching her wrist, glaring like she would curse them all if given five more seconds.

The hall emptied.

Guests gone.

Lights still glowing like they didn't get the memo.

Silence.

Just rain.

Ji-Ah slowly stepped out from behind Ha-Joon.

Her dress dragged slightly across the floor.

Her hair messy.

Her eyes still shining from everything that had just happened.

She looked at him.

"…Why did you come?"

He turned.

"There's a party," she continued, voice uneven but trying to sound annoyed. "Your engagement. Your perfect night."

A small, crooked smile tugged at her lips.

"You should've stayed."

Ha-Joon looked at her for a long second.

Then—

exhaled.

"You're loud," he said.

She blinked.

"…What?"

"You're reckless. Chaotic. You don't listen."

Her brows furrowed.

"And somehow," he continued, stepping closer, "you still expect me to sit calmly while you disappear?"

She opened her mouth—

closed it again.

"I didn't expect—"

"You did," he cut in quietly.

A beat.

Then, softer—

"And you were right."

That hit.

Harder than anything else tonight.

Ji-Ah looked away quickly.

"…You're annoying," she muttered.

"I know."

She tried to walk.

One step—

two—

Her legs gave out.

"Ah—!"

She dropped—

dramatically—

hands flailing slightly.

"I can't walk!" she declared, half whining, half serious. "My legs are gone! They resigned!"

Ha-Joon stared at her.

"…Resigned?"

"Yes! Without notice!"

Despite everything—

his lips twitched.

Just slightly.

"…Get up."

"No."

"…Ji-Ah."

"No," she repeated, pointing weakly at her legs. "They betrayed me."

A pause.

Then—

he sighed.

And bent down.

"Wait—what are you—"

He picked her up.

Clean.

Effortless.

She froze.

"…Oh."

Rain echoed around them.

"Today," he said, walking toward the exit, "we're not going back."

She blinked.

"Too far," he added. "We're going to your apartment."

She nodded slowly.

"…Okay."

Then after a second—

"…Don't drop me."

"I won't."

"…If you do, I will haunt you."

"I believe you."

And just like that—

they stepped into the rain.

Meanwhile — Kim Residence

The storm had followed them home.

Cameras still flashing.

Reporters still shouting.

Inside—

chaos wore silk.

Min-Ji sat on the couch—

crying.

Soft.

Controlled.

But very visible.

Madam sat beside her, patting her hand.

"It's alright," Madam murmured. "We will handle this."

Hae-In stood nearby, arms crossed.

"This is outrageous."

Mrs. Kang nodded, frowning deeply.

Across the room—

Arisoo paced.

Back and forth.

Back and forth.

Seo-Yeon followed her with worried eyes.

"Do you think she's okay?"

Min-Hyuk stood still for once.

Tense.

Even Halmoni had gone quiet.

Watching.

Waiting.

Then—

Arisoo's phone rang.

She froze.

Looked down.

"…It's him."

Everyone moved closer instantly.

She picked up.

"Ha-Joon?"

Silence.

Then—

relief flooded her face.

"You found her?"

Everyone leaned in.

"She's okay," Arisoo repeated. "Okay—okay—"

She listened—

then frowned slightly.

"You're not coming back?"

A pause.

"…It's raining?"

She nodded slowly.

"Okay… come tomorrow."

She ended the call.

"They found her," she announced quickly. "She's safe. They're staying at her apartment tonight."

Relief rippled—

but not everywhere.

Madam's expression hardened.

"What about the party?" she demanded.

Halmoni scoffed.

"You're lucky it wasn't the wedding," she said bluntly.

Madam turned sharply.

"This is not the time—"

"Oh, it is exactly the time," Halmoni shot back. "A girl was kidnapped under your nose."

Min-Ji wiped her tears softly—

then spoke.

"This is because of her."

The room stilled.

"She's always causing trouble," Min-Ji continued quietly. "From the beginning."

Mrs. Kang nodded.

"I said the same thing."

Hae-In added sharply, "She doesn't know her place."

Madam exhaled, clearly irritated.

"If she hadn't—"

"No."

Min-Hyuk cut in.

All eyes turned to him.

"She was kidnapped," he said flatly. "Let's not pretend that's her fault."

Seo-Yeon nodded immediately.

"Exactly."

Arisoo stopped pacing.

"She didn't ask for this."

Tension built.

Voices rising—

Then—

clap.

Slow.

Sharp.

Mocking.

Everyone turned.

At the entrance—

Yoo-Na stood.

Smirking.

"Well," she said lightly, stepping in. "What a show I missed."

Madam frowned.

"Yoo-Na—"

"I came as fast as I could," Yoo-Na continued, glancing around. "Didn't expect the entertainment to start without me."

Her gaze landed on Min-Ji.

"…Rough night?"

Min-Ji stiffened.

Yoo-Na smiled sweetly.

Too sweet.

"Imagine losing your fiancé," she added, "on your engagement night."

"Yoo-Na," Mrs. Kang warned.

But she didn't stop.

"Oh no, don't mind me," she waved lightly. "I just find it fascinating."

A pause.

Then—

"That the 'problematic girl' everyone keeps blaming…"

Her eyes flicked around the room.

"…is the only one worth running through a storm for."

Silence.

Min-Ji's jaw tightened.

Yoo-Na's smile widened slightly.

"Funny, isn't it?"

Halmoni leaned back.

Watching.

Amused again.

Because the storm outside—

had finally found its way in.
