Chapter 17 - Your Bones Are Very Hard

Seeing Leo could lightly dodge his own sneaky attack, Michael didn't slow down one bit. He recklessly charged through the layer of dust, closed his eyes and threw a punch toward his opponent.

The force was decent but his posture was extremely terrible. You could say this punch was a gamble. If it didn't hit its mark, Michael would definitely fall.

This simple movement was no different from a joke in Leo's eyes. Just by lightly shifting his body, all of Michael's attacks turned into nothing but a light breeze brushing past him.

"In a fight, never let the enemy leave your sight."

Leo lectured while fighting, conveniently including a practical example. He used his foot to kick hard at Michael's calf, causing Michael to tumble down once again.

With the experience from the last fall, Michael reacted much more quickly this time. Though he still fell, at least he managed to cover his face with his hands in time.

Suddenly, a memory from long ago rushed back. He recalled a video about how professional parkour practitioners dispersed force when landing.

He didn't know if it was because his current body was extraordinary, or because his innate talent was just good, but he felt he could use that move immediately.

He first touched his hands to the ground, then timed it right to exert force. Using the existing momentum, he rolled a few times on the ground and immediately sprang up. Aside from being covered in a bit of dust, he didn't have any new wounds on his body now.

"This... How... how'd you get good so suddenly?"

Leo's eyes widened in surprise. He wasn't unfamiliar with that move, but he never had a chance to use it because someone like him was rarely shoved down so clumsily like that.

The strange thing was, since when were Michael's limbs so nimble? Suddenly thinking of Michael's ability to learn underwater made him feel everything still made sense.

"As expected of someone who dares call himself a god, he can't be an ordinary person. Even without abilities, he must at least have potential."

Leo smirked and muttered to himself. Next, he thought he should also use more strength to squeeze dry the potential of this young god.

Michael stood tall, looking straight into Leo's eyes, lightly rubbing the tip of his nose to show that the last hit was nothing more than a scratch.

"Putting on the act of a master with only that much real skill? You disappoint me too much."

This kind of arrogant talk made Leo roll his eyes. His real skill? When had he ever used his real skill?

He had only moved a few times and could already knock Michael down, he wasn't serious at all. Moreover, from the start he had never taken the initiative to attack, always letting Michael strike first.

"3."

"Huh???" Michael frowned, unable to see through Leo's intention.

"2."

"1."

As soon as the count ended, Michael was stunned and then suddenly widened his eyes. In front of him, a fist had appeared without him knowing when. Clearly Leo's fist was small, but in Michael's eyes right now the fist was so big he couldn't possibly dodge it.

As for how Leo moved to in front of him, Michael had no clue at all. He had just blinked unintentionally and the result before his eyes was already a fist.

---

"Ah!"

Michael screamed, startled awake. Suddenly he felt the surrounding space was a bit dark, looking carefully he saw the sun was about to set.

"I... what happened to me?"

He held his forehead and muttered, feeling his head was still a bit sore. He remembered it seemed like a fist appeared in front of him, and after that he wasn't clear about anything.

"Aside from being punched unconscious by me, what else could it be?"

A voice suddenly sounded from behind. Only now did Michael notice there was something slightly burnt in the air.

Leo's cooking ability was truly hard to describe. He could grill anything, it's just that the outside was always burned, not just a little burned but burned completely black.

"You're really something. In just one day of training you nearly died twice, fell three times, were unconscious twice. The time you were actually conscious wasn't much at all but luckily you learned a few things. At least you won't have to worry about accidentally falling in water and drowning later." Leo said while eating.

Urk~

Even though the burnt smell wasn't great, Michael felt very hungry right now. The strange thing was, the amount of meat he ate in one meal yesterday was more than he used to eat in a week, yet he got hungry this fast.

Michael didn't ask for permission, nor did he care about Leo's attitude, and directly took a fish and took a really big bite. So what if it's burnt? This special body of his wasn't afraid of that little bit of burnt.

"You still dare to say that? Isn't it all thanks to you? Who on earth trains a newbie like that? If it were a few actual three-year-old kids, you'd have probably killed at least a few of them today."

Michael couldn't help but curse. This training method was clearly asking for his life. It completely disregarded his safety.

"Ha ha, but I have good news for you. Want to hear it?"

"Good news? What good news could there be?" Michael frowned. He had just arrived on this continent not long ago, hadn't done anything, how could there be good news?

"Of course there is. Earlier when I punched your forehead, even though you were knocked out, my hand really hurt too."

Leo said while raising his fist and pointing to the faint bruise on his hand. It didn't look like a serious injury at all, if compared, it was on par with a few mosquito bites.

Michael's face immediately twisted. The already terrible grilled fish now became impossible to swallow, making him spit it all out.

"Listen to what you just said again? Is this human language?"

Does this world really have someone who hits a person and then complains because his face was too hard, making their fist hurt?

"Don't scowl like a little-old-man like that, think about it from a positive angle. Clearly my physique is better than yours, yet you could give me a bruise." Leo answered seriously.

Michael touched his forehead, a lump that was both big and round and also painful made him grimace. Compared to this, what was the bruise on Leo's hand?

"Clearly I'm the one more injured."

"True, you are more injured, but your bones are fine. Logically speaking, that punch should have been enough to slightly crack a skull. This proves your bones are incredibly hard."

"Having slightly harder bones counts as good news?"

The corner of Michael's mouth twitched, he really wanted to hit someone right now. But thinking about the vast difference in strength, he had to swallow it. He didn't want to get punched again anyway.
