Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Fire!

The situation was dire.

At least for Kiritsugu, he shouldn't be so passive.

He couldn't confirm the Servant's perception range or situation, and he didn't dare to act rashly.

Just a quick glance with his sniper scope had almost gotten him discovered.

"Maiya, be careful on your side."

"The new Servant is to the northeast."

Taking out his walkie-talkie and giving instructions to his partner, Kiritsugu pondered how to deal with this situation.

"Clang!"

"Clang clang!!"

The sound of clashing blades continuously came from the seaside, where Saber was battling Assassin on the beach.

(His swordsmanship is sharp and swift.)

(He also possesses such agility.)

(It's hard to believe this is Assassin.)

The more Saber fought him, the more she felt his superb swordsmanship.

If it weren't for her hidden Holy Sword, he might have fought even more aggressively.

"Hah!"

Blocking a jumping slash and pushing him back with force, Saber dared not be careless in the slightest.

(Saber is being suppressed?)

Irisviel's pupils trembled slightly, surprised by the scene before her.

It was well known that Saber was one of the best performing of the Seven Servants, and the only ones who could fight her head-on without falling behind were possibly the other two great Servants.

But Assassin, in the eyes of the world, should not be capable of such a feat.

Let alone suppressing Saber in swordsmanship.

It was fortunate that he was of the Assassin class; if he were a Saber, wouldn't he just take off directly?

"Who exactly is he?"

Such sharp swordsmanship couldn't be historically unknown. Judging by his attire and katana, he was clearly Japanese.

(The cross-shaped scar on his left cheek.)

(A local Heroic Spirit?)

Realizing this, Irisviel understood that he might have benefited from the so-called fame and territorial bonuses.

In that case, confronting Saber head-on was not impossible.

"Whoosh!"

The figure charging straight at her made Saber focus intently.

"Whoa!"

But just before he clashed with her, Assassin's figure suddenly moved to the side.

"Oh no!"

Realizing something, Saber spun around abruptly, her Holy Sword beginning to unleash astonishing wind pressure.

"Tsk."

Kenshin looked at the tip of his blade, which had grazed the other party's neck, and couldn't help but sigh in regret.

His body was then sent flying by the incoming wind pressure.

"Ugh."

Belatedly, Irisviel realized she had just had a close call with death.

The crimson bloodstain and subtle cut on her neck showed just how dangerous it had been.

"You bastard!"

Rushing to her side to protect her, Saber's beautiful face was filled with anger.

If she had reacted even a moment later, she would have lost her Master.

She never expected him to feign an attack, pretending to fight her fiercely, but actually looking for an opportunity to approach Irisviel.

"As expected... he has Instinct?"

Standing up from the ground, Kenshin silently recalled the situation just now, affirming his previous judgment.

If he had tried to ambush her earlier, she would have reacted immediately, leading to a futile effort...

"Kirei, it seems Assassin has displayed unexpected combat power."

"If he can confront Saber like this, then we have a chance."

Tokiomi Tohsaka and his disciple, Kirei Kotomine, were in the workshop observing the battle. Tokiomi was quite satisfied with Kenshin's performance.

This meant that by joining forces with Archer, Saber could be easily encircled and eliminated, thus removing a major enemy for them.

"Later, when we find an opportunity, we will ask the Hero King to act and annihilate them in one fell swoop!"

And while they were all calculating their moves, an object unimaginable to ordinary people was hidden high in the sky.

"Rider, are you really sure it's okay?"

Waver asked, trembling as he watched the scene below from inside the machine.

"Don't worry. With their perception, it's impossible for them to discover this machine."

Lelouch spoke with a confident smile, staring at the observation screen inside the machine.

Perhaps because he had become a Heroic Spirit, many of the things he possessed had changed.

This 'Gawain' should have been damaged long ago, but he was able to summon and use it.

Moreover, its performance and weapons had all been infused with magic, making its power far greater than 'in life'.

There were many benefits, but also a drawback: it required magic to drive it. However, this was not difficult for him and Waver.

"I didn't expect there to be three Servants here."

"Saber, Assassin, and what class is that guy in the golden armor?"

"Besides Saber's Master, who are the other two? Assassin's Master?"

After receiving a response, Waver didn't dwell on the previous question. Instead, he pointed to Maiya and Kiritsugu on the screen, looking puzzled.

With Rider's high-tech detection, the life signs below were instantly locked on.

This made him marvel at the power of technology, which was sometimes indeed much more convenient than so-called familiars and magic.

"It's almost time."

Lelouch suddenly spoke, watching the renewed confrontation on the screen.

"Ugh..."

Swallowing, Waver felt nervous about what was about to happen.

Rider had already told him in advance what he would do, so he watched his Servant preparing to act with some anticipation.

If Rider's plan succeeded, they might be able to eliminate one or two major enemies in one go.

That would immediately lighten their burden.

"Then... let this magnificent explosion announce our participation."

The button was activated, and purple energy began to charge in the machine's chest.

Then, a purple energy beam fiercely blasted downwards.

"Hmm?!"

"!!"

"!?"

At this moment, everyone below felt the threat from high in the sky.

Even without looking up, they knew what kind of danger filled the brightly illuminated night sky.

"By my Command Seal, I order you! Saber, come to my side!"

"No!"

At the critical moment, Kiritsugu, also noticing the unusual attack, unhesitatingly used the power of his Command Seal.

Saber's figure vanished from Irisviel's side, leaving her alone with Assassin.

And at this moment, the aerial bombardment fell to the ground, creating an unimaginable roar.

"Boom!!"

The purple glow illuminated the entire sea, and even the ground was shaken.

"Bang!"

Devastating destructive power swept across the coast. The city in the deep night vibrated, causing many people to wake up in alarm.

"What happened?"

"An earthquake?!"

The overly obvious shaking prompted bad conjectures.

"There's a fourth Servant?"

Even Tokiomi and Kirei, sitting in the workshop, had not anticipated such a result.

"Kirei, how is Assassin?"

As it concerned his side, Tokiomi had to ask about Kirei's condition.

"The contract hasn't been severed, but Assassin seems to have sustained very serious damage."

Feeling the magic slowly being drawn from his body, Kirei Kotomine frowned and replied.

"That's good."

The Hero King who went to observe would certainly be fine. It would be a huge loss to lose Assassin for nothing.

"Who exactly is it?"

The familiars sent to investigate were also caught in the blast and destroyed, making it impossible to know the situation on site.
