Chapter 101 - Not Nearly Done*

The warmth of her body seeped into my aching core, but my insides felt sticky and heavy, like ice cream left out to liquefy in the sun. Even when I tried to tense my muscles, a warm mixture of fluids leaked out, wetting the sheets beneath my entrance.

Despite the sheer intensity of what had happened, I wasn't hungry. Appetite felt like something from another lifetime. I just wanted to lie there, completely drained of every ounce of energy, a hollow shell of a person.

Sleep wouldn't come, though. The scent of snow emanating from Elara hadn't cooled, and the heat radiating from her lithe frame kept my senses on a high wire.

I turned my head slowly, looking around the room.

We had entered this bed in the pitch black of night, but now, the heavy yellow light of a late afternoon was bleeding through the gaps in the curtains.

I squinted at the clock, my brain struggling to process where the hour hand was pointing.

I blinked three times.

A whole day had already vanished.
