It wasn't that she disliked it. And no, she definitely didn't like it either. She had simply grown so used to it that she no longer paid it any mind.
The reason she was sitting in this particular café was simple: it was close to the university where her younger sibling studied. Her half-sister—since they didn't share the same father.
Her mother had been quite young when Elara's father died. People had pressured her to remarry, but Elara's presence was becoming a complication. As if waiting for the perfect opportunity, the main household had contacted her mother to adopt Elara. Her mother had agreed, but only after Elara herself told her it was fine.
Elara was only five years old at the time, but as an Alpha, she had matured early.
