Chapter 25 - Chapter 25

Britannia Mansion, Proud Grandfather Mode

The Britannia mansion was calm, elegant, and filled with the quiet confidence of old nobility.

Cornelia and Euphemia had just stepped inside when a deep, familiar voice greeted them.

"How was your day?"

An elderly man with sharp eyes and a relaxed posture sat by the window, sipping tea.

Charles Li Britannia.

Former Pokémon Champion of the Aetherfall Kingdom.

Their grandfather.

"It was good," Euphemia replied.

"Very good," Cornelia added.

Charles raised an eyebrow.

"Oh? Then tell me—what Pokémon did you choose?"

Both girls released their Poké Balls.

A flash of light.

"Shinx!"

"Bulbasaur!"

Charles nodded slowly, eyes gleaming with approval.

"Good choices."

Then he noticed something else.

Their expressions.

Too bright.

Too… happy.

Charles leaned back.

"…What happened?"

Euphemia blinked.

"How can you tell we're happy?"

Charles snorted.

"I'm your grandfather. I know you better than you think."

He paused, then added smugly:

"And don't forget—I was once the Pokémon Champion of Aetherfall."

Both girls scoffed at the same time.

"Show-off."

"Always bragging."

Charles clutched his chest dramatically.

"…So cruel."

A Familiar Name

Euphemia sat down and began recounting the events at school—

the dungeon trial,

Leon's challenge,

and Alex's victory.

Cornelia filled in the details with far too much enthusiasm.

When they finished, Charles fell silent.

Then he smiled.

"…Looks like my old friend's grandson finally changed."

He nodded slowly.

"Victor's boy was always smart… just blind."

Cornelia stiffened.

"…Grandpa."

Charles chuckled.

Then—casually, like he was asking about dinner—

"So. When are you two planning to propose to Alex?"

Instant chaos.

"G-GRANDPA?!"

Cornelia's face turned crimson.

Euphemia covered her cheeks, steam practically rising.

"We're still in school!"

Charles laughed heartily.

"Relax, relax. I'm just teasing."

But his eyes were gentle.

"I'm happy," he said quietly.

"That boy… I watched him grow up."

He stared out the window, memories flickering.

"It's good to see him walking forward again."

Cornelia and Euphemia exchanged a glance.

Both smiled.

Charles took a sip of tea and muttered:

"…Looks like the future will be lively."
