"Come back here!" Delfina yelled at the little boy who ran around the house, giggling uncontrollably. Every time she got close to catching him, he swerved out of her reach, nearly causing her to trip. "Gabriele," she called again before finally giving up and sinking onto the couch to rest after all the running she had done that day.
"Mummy, catch me!" The little boy screamed as he ran off, laughter spilling from his lips.
Delfina huffed but stayed seated.
"You need to eat," she said firmly, but the boy only shook his head with a wide grin, clearly enjoying the game.
It was obvious he was having the time of his life, and Delfina could only sigh.
She stood up once more, grabbed the bowl of cereal, and chased after her son as he attempted to run faster on his short legs. Just as she was about to catch him, Gabriele crashed straight into someone solid.
It was his great grandfather.
