The world is known as Aetherion. It is a cursed place, within a Nexus reality. Tiemlines overlap, existences fade in this place. Many planets, galaxies, even parts of universe are in a single world. It is unimaginably large. There are several world like this, but none as stable and dangerous as this world.
People inhabiting this world are utterly powerful. It is a heaven for few, hell for most.
There exists a power system, one which allows people to transcend the limits of their being by unlocking the layers of their existence. With each unlock, an ability is also unlocked, which increases as the number of layers increase.
For example, a person who has unlocked his soul has one ability while the person who has unlocked his Sea of Consciousness has three.
There is one more, more accursed. It is called Anomalic Corruption. It involves sacrificing of someone's sanity, self for power, incredibly potent power. It is incredibly risky.
There is a huge threat known as the the Displaced. They are people of unknown orgins, one thing is clear, they don't belong to this timeline.
The displaced inhabit this world. They are maggots feeding on this world's energy.
There are natural monsters inhabiting the world too. They are much less dangerous as compared to the Displaced.
There exist an advanced technological power system too. Bit it won't be covered here. It will be slowly explained.
