Chapter 128 - Chapter 128 Six Years Old Is Not Impossible

Shindai, Kakashi, and two others had been on missions together for over a month, mostly involving sneak attacks.

Shindai's team consisted of only four people, so it was impossible for them to engage in direct combat with the Sunagakure forces.

Moreover, Sunagakure wouldn't engage Konoha in direct combat either; they would attack when outnumbered and flee when outnumbered, as Sunagakure was currently in a chaotic battle with Konoha Ninja and Kirigakure, and they didn't have a numerical advantage.

Konoha, Hidden Sand Village, and Hidden Mist Village were in a complete chaotic melee along the border.

For example, if Sunagakure and Konoha Ninja were fighting, a squad of Hidden Mist Ninja might suddenly rush in and join the battle.

Shindai's four-person team had just completed a mission, having assassinated three Sunagakure Ninja, and were now back at their base, planning to submit the mission and rest before taking on another one.

However, just as he finished submitting the mission, Shindai overheard a conversation between some Ninja nearby.

"Have you heard? There's a Sunagakure Ninja who's good at using Fire Release, and he's been fighting fiercely with Kirigakure, killing a lot of Kirigakure Ninja. Kirigakure now hates this Sunagakure Ninja to the bone."

"What Fire Release? I heard it's a legendary Bloodline Limit, seems like Blaze Release."

"Oh right, it's something like..."

Shindai rushed over to the Ninja who were talking and anxiously asked, "Pakura of the Blaze Release, right?!"

"Ah, yes! That's the name!"

After receiving the confirmed answer, Shindai froze in place.

Kakashi and the other two walked over to Shindai, and Kakashi asked curiously, "What's wrong, Shindai? Do you know this person?"

Shindai snapped back to reality and nodded, "Yes, she was my only friend when I was in Hidden Sand Village."

Hearing Shindai say this, Kakashi, Obito, and Rin Nohara all fell silent.

His only friend had now become an enemy; Shindai must be feeling terrible.

Kakashi thought to himself that when they took on missions next, he would have to avoid Pakura.

However, Shindai suddenly said to Kakashi with a serious expression, "Kakashi, take a mission that will allow me to get close to Pakura."

Kakashi looked at Shindai, puzzled: "Why?"

Shindai explained, "It's been a long time since we last met, and I want to see her. I still have some things I want to tell her."

Obito tried to persuade Shindai, "Shindai, you are currently on opposing sides. If you meet, a battle might occur. Why don't you wait until the war ends? By then, meeting shouldn't cause any problems."

Shindai shook his head, "No, I need her help. If it's her, she should be able to do it!"

"Huh? Are you out of your mind?"

Obito couldn't hold back; he found it incredibly hard to believe that Shindai wanted help from an enemy.

Kakashi and Rin Nohara also felt that Shindai was crazy, and not just a little bit.

Shindai twitched his lips, "I'm perfectly sober, not crazy. I really need her help. If I try to do that thing alone, it will be very difficult, but with Pakura's help, it can be done!"

Rin Nohara asked curiously, "Shindai, what do you need her help with?"

Shindai roughly explained his plan.

Obito and the other two's eyes popped out in astonishment.

"Hey, isn't that too sinister?"

"Yeah, that's too dirty!"

"If she gets discovered, she won't be able to stay in Hidden Sand Village either. How could she possibly help you?!"

Shindai 'hmph'ed: "Is it not sinister for them to spread rumors about me? Is it not dirty? I'm just giving them a taste of their own medicine! And... never mind. Whether Pakura will help me, I'll only know after I meet her."

Anyway, Pakura would be ambushed later, and the harder Pakura fought Kirigakure now, the harder she would be backstabbed by Hidden Sand Village later.

So, he was just helping Pakura collect some interest now.

But Shindai had no idea whether Pakura would help him.

Even Shindai, who considered himself to have no feelings for Hidden Sand Village, had given Hidden Sand Village several chances.

And the current Pakura loved Hidden Sand Village deeply.

Kakashi frowned, pondering whether he should do as Shindai said.

As the current captain, he was responsible for the entire team, so he needed to think carefully.

Shindai said to Kakashi, "Kakashi, if Pakura is willing to help me, then that old hag Chiyo will definitely have no face to stay and command, which would be a great help to Konoha.

What's more, even if Pakura really wants to fight us, then we can just run. If a few of us want to run, as long as no abnormal Ninja like Minato-sama block us, it's quite easy for us to escape."

Obito also sided with Shindai at this point: "Kakashi, let's do it. It's clear Shindai is very serious this time."

Rin Nohara also chimed in, "That's right, she's Shindai's only friend. Shindai must miss her a lot too."

Obito and Rin Nohara had already started imagining things.

Obito said wistfully, "I can feel Shindai's eagerness to see that girl named Pakura. This feeling... I can relate."

Obito glanced sideways at Rin Nohara.

Rin Nohara didn't notice Obito's gaze and sighed, "Yes, Shindai must really like that girl. Otherwise, Shindai, who is afraid of danger, wouldn't be willing to take such a big risk to see her."

Obito sighed and slowly shook his head, "I hope that kind of tragedy doesn't happen, like two people who love each other being forced to fight because of their different positions."

Shindai was initially quite happy to hear Obito and Rin Nohara speak up for him.

But why did it start sounding more and more off?!

Shindai looked at Obito and Rin Nohara with a strange expression: "Are you two the ones who are crazy? Pakura and I have a purely platonic friendship. She's 6 years older than me, almost 18 now. While I treat her as a good friend, she sees me as her younger brother!"

Obito and Rin Nohara's expressions immediately turned awkward.

So, they had overthought it.

But Obito immediately twisted it again: "6 years, it's not impossible, you know. When you're 18, that Pakura will only be 24. That sounds much better, doesn't it! It's only a 6-year difference, not 60 years, so..."

Shindai unceremoniously slapped Obito on the head: "Get your romance-addled brain in check! Do you think everyone is like you?!"

Shindai looked at Kakashi, who was still deep in thought, and asked, "Kakashi, have you made up your mind?"

Kakashi pondered for a moment and then said, "6 years, huh… Ah, no, in that case, alright then. I'll take a mission that allows us to get close to Pakura."

Shindai's face was as black as coal. That damn tsundere Kakashi, he thought he was thinking about whether to agree to his mission, but he didn't expect him to have misinterpreted it just like Obito and Rin Nohara.
