Chapter 73 - In which he was from Vernola

Vernola as a country did not understand the theme or symbolic value of Christmas but adored it. 

In fact, Christmas was elaborately celebrated. So much that one would have thought they murdered Christ and felt guilty for his death hence the over celebration. Though he did not party, he attended. Honoured invitations and most times enjoyed the meals.

To ward off talks from the citizens, his mother had decided to celebrate it. Sending gifts to acquaintances, friends and common citizens. Yet, at their first family Christmas, Sullivan's anger had been riled. Enough for him to leave a dead meal in the middle of the ball room. A tradition that was quick to follow each time they celebrated. 

It wasn't that Sullivan hated Christmas. No. He detested all forms of party but the celebration was tolerable. Especially because she enjoyed and looked forward to it. He merely grew off it as soon as it started because Stephen Doningman in his cunningness had found a way to ruin it for him.
