Chapter 69 - In which she wasn't so ladylike

Sullivan had been quick to leave and she was left with the thought of whatever made her fall deeply asleep. Like he said, the philandering couple weren't worth her tears or time. As difficult as it was, Anna swept them to the back of her mind. Sullivan had taken the flowers Coyl gave to her with him. His reason being; 

"I find it uncomfortable that someone else is trying to steal the companionship I have with you." 

Coyl in some sly manner had indicated she was a plain Jane compared to Sullivan who he called distinct. What if he had placed something in between the flowers? 

But what for? 

As she worked over the documents and blushed at how she cried in his chest yet he didn't make it awkward by asking her why, she realised the relationship she had with Sullivan was getting far closer than she would have expected. In such a fast manner at that too. 

Who would have thought? Her and Sullivan?
