Minako threatened to report Rika to the authorities. And hearing it, Yumemi snapped angrily.
"What the hell is wrong with you?! Are you insane?! That's your own sister!"
"If anything, that's exactly why I should act," she replied coldly. "I'm preventing a mistake before it becomes irreversible."
"A mistake?!" Yumemi's voice cracked with rage. "That's a child! That's family! And you… Fuck you!"
Yumemi stormed off, her footsteps echoing loudly through the house as she slammed her room's door with enough force to make the walls tremble.
"Yumemi, wait…" Tomoko called after her, instinctively taking a step forward.
"Leave her," Minako interrupted smoothly.
Tomoko hesitated mid-step. Her body stiffened, but she obeyed. Minako's lips curled faintly. Everything had been just as expected.
Of the two sisters, Yumemi had always been the problematic one, at least from Minako's perspective.
