Chapter 27 - 27 - I Choose This Dungeoun

While Selena was preparing to report to her superiors about Blank refusing the invitation, Blank himself was still lying on his bed, casually opening the Reincarnation System interface, searching for the next dungeon to challenge.

That's right.

Although one had to physically enter the Reincarnation Space to challenge a dungeon, all information related to the Reincarnation Tower could be accessed in reality through the system interface.

After thirty years, the Reincarnation Space had become absurdly convenient.

"Hm?"

Arthur frowned slightly as he stared at his Reincarnation Tower panel.

Something was wrong.

"System… what's going on here?"

On his interface, four floors were lit up.

Floors one through four.

Did that mean they were all available to him?

Normally, climbing the Reincarnation Tower worked much like leveling up.

Each time a Reincarnator cleared a dungeon, they accumulated a certain amount of "experience" on their current floor. Once they reached the required threshold, they would advance to the next floor.

At the same time, the previous floor would be permanently locked.

It was a one-way path.

The purpose was simple: to prevent Reincarnators from deliberately staying on low-level floors to repeatedly farm easy rewards.

Yet no matter how Arthur thought about it, he had never heard of a case where multiple floors opened simultaneously.

Before he could think further, system messages appeared one after another.

[Reincarnation Tower System Notice: A Reincarnator's floor elevation is determined by achieving an "S-rank clear evaluation."]

[Clear evaluation rank conversion ratio: 3:1.]

[Evaluations above S-rank grant additional floor-jump privileges.]

[For every rank higher than S-rank, one additional floor will be unlocked.]

[Reincarnator Blank, your most recent clear evaluation was SSS.You are granted permission to skip three floors.]

[You may choose any floor between Floors 2–4 as your initial entry floor.Once a selection is made, all other floors will be sealed permanently.]

[Keep in mind that this will change starting from the 50th floor, where a different set of rules will be imposed.]

Arthur's eyes narrowed.

"So that's how it works…"

In the end, he could still only enter one floor.

The difference was that he was being given three options to choose from.

On the surface, it looked like an incredible benefit.

It would allow Arthur, who had entered the Reincarnation Tower far later than others, to rapidly catch up, perhaps even surpass the current vanguard of elite Reincarnators.

But therein lay the problem.

For someone like him, who extracted enormous rewards from every dungeon—skipping three floors at once meant drastically reducing the number of dungeons he could challenge.

Even if his gains per dungeon far exceeded those of others, the total rewards he could have accumulated would still be significantly reduced.

Arthur exhaled slowly.

He hadn't expected the system to be this ruthless.

An S-rank clear didn't just mean strength.

It meant being forced forward, whether you were ready or not.

Just as Arthur was weighing what to do about this unexpected development—

A smooth, warm hand slipped around his neck.

"Who were you talking to just now?"

Saeko Busujima leaned against his chest, tilting her head up to look at him. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity, a faint smile playing on her lips.

She had woken up midway through Arthur's video call.

But after seeing him hang up and continue focusing on something else, she had quietly chosen not to interrupt him.

Hearing Saeko's voice, a smile unconsciously appeared on Arthur's face.

A smile only she could ever draw out of him.

"Just someone trying to offer me a job," Arthur replied jokingly. "I even thought about accepting it, just so I could support you."

Saeko rolled her eyes. "Then why didn't you?"

"It sounded way too exhausting," he shrugged. "I think I'll leave that responsibility to you instead."

Saeko blinked, clearly surprised.

"You want me to support you?" she asked, then smiled mischievously."I could do that—but from today on, you'd have to call me husband. Come on, Arthur, say it. hus-band."

"What?" Arthur froze for a split second before grinning."Oh, you little brat. Watch how you talk to your husband."

That was all it took.

A tickle fight immediately broke out, ending—as expected—with Arthur emerging victorious.

---

Earlier, Arthur had already asked Blade about the Privilege Card.

As expected, experienced Reincarnators were on a completely different level.

According to her explanation, a Plot Privilege Card could be used before entering a dungeon, granting the user an identity of a corresponding level within that dungeon.

Simply put...

It was about importance.

Depending on the card's grade, there were two possible outcomes:

One, directly joining a crucial plot faction and becoming a significant member within it.

Or two, outright replacing an existing plot character.

However, as Blade explained, most Privilege Cards circulating on the market were only E to C grade. B-grade cards appeared rarely. A-grade ones were practically myths.

As for truly important plot characters?

Below B-grade, even obtaining a role qualified to participate in the plot was extremely difficult.

On top of that, most Reincarnators entered dungeons almost completely blind. Dungeon rotations were frequent, and without deep preparation, the card's usefulness dropped sharply.

Unless someone spent years focusing on a single dungeon, gathering information, challenging it repeatedly, memorizing its flow... the Privilege Card was little more than a flashy but underwhelming item.

It could slightly alter the plot, maybe even grant access to certain dungeon items…

But in practice?

For most Reincarnators, it was tasteless and useless.

But Arthur saw it differently.

For one simple reason.

This was an SSS-grade Privilege Card.

Theoretically, he could directly replace the protagonist of a dungeon.

If there were powerful weapons or rare items tied to the plot, he might be able to claim them outright.

As for troublesome plot points, hidden foreshadowing, or forced tragedies?

He could rewrite them.

Blatantly.

This wasn't a Privilege Card.

This was practically cheat authority.

Was this really not an administrator-level item?

Even so, Arthur had no intention of using something this valuable on low-level dungeons.

He had already analyzed his current situation.

While skipping floors did come with both advantages and disadvantages.

For him, doing so in the early stages was far more beneficial than harmful.

Low-level dungeons generally possessed shallow worldviews and weak power systems.

Although the Reincarnation Tower didn't strictly sort dungeons by combat strength—instead factoring in worldview scale, mystique, diversity, historical depth, and narrative complexity,

There was no doubt about one thing.

The lower the floor, the fewer meaningful benefits it offered.

Below the 20th floor, supernatural powers were exceedingly rare.

Around the 20-30th floor, however, dungeons involving ghosts, abilities, and supernatural phenomena began appearing in large numbers, with extraordinary powers gradually becoming the norm.

Of course, exceptions existed.

For example.

A completely ordinary modern world.

Except for one person who possessed supernatural abilities.

Such a dungeon wouldn't be placed on high floors, but rather classified as mid-to-low tier.

Even so, Arthur had already made his decision.

Before reaching at least the 20th floor, skipping floors and accelerating his progress was unquestionably the optimal choice.

And he would do so without hesitation.

"Let's see..."

After examining the dungeons on the second and third floors, Arthur quickly lost interest.

None of them were worth the risk, the time… or the effort.

With a quiet sigh, his gaze shifted upward.

"The fourth floor…" That was when he began reviewing the available dungeons on the 4th floor of the Reincarnation Tower.

At present, there were five dungeons open on that floor:

1.Phantom Requiem

2.School-Live!

3.Prison School

4.Hakuoki (I doubt anyone knows this one.)

5.BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.

"Now this is more like it" He muttered to himself.

If he was going to take his next step up the tower, this was where it would begin.
