Chapter 49 - The Scale

Azura's POV

The air in Genevieve's hidden room was thick, almost heavy, smelling intensely of dried sage and something sweet, like old honey. The golden light from the candles hung in the air, creating long, dancing shadows on the rough stone walls that seemed to stretch and twist like living things. It was a space filled with secrets, bottles of glowing liquids lining the shelves, and ancient, dusty books stacked haphazardly on the wooden table.

But none of that mattered to me right now.

What mattered was Liona, who was currently pressed hard against the far stone wall, staring at me like I was a wild animal that might bite at any moment. Her eyes were wide, her face pale, and I could tell she was analyzing every single breath I took.

"So..." Liona started, her voice shaking slightly as she pointed a trembling finger at me. "If you get angry again, you could, like... blow up the whole pack house? Just... poof? Gone?"
