At the center of the battlefield, the air was so heavy it felt suffocating. Gold Dust and lightning glared at each other, carving out two utterly different worlds.
On one side stood Rasa. The desert beneath his feet had turned into a golden sea; the massive Gold Dust flowed around him like a living thing, forming one unbreakable rampart after another. His face was cold, his gaze locked on the enemy. His Magnet Release differed from the Third Kazekage's Iron Sand—it was significantly denser. Gold, with an atomic weight of roughly 196.97 u, is much heavier than iron (55.84 u). While it required more chakra to move, its sheer inertia made it the ultimate tool for reshaping the terrain and absorbing high-velocity impacts.
On the other side loomed the famous A-B Combination. The future Fourth Raikage—A—was a vision of blue destruction. Lightning crackled across his skin in a violent Lightning Release Chakra Mode, boosting his synaptic response and physical strength to superhuman levels. Beside him, Killer B struck a series of odd poses, yet the Eight-Tails (Gyūki) chakra radiating from him was as deep and frightening as an abyss.
"Oh yeah! Golden sand, shiny-bright! But you're still way too light, to block Big Bro 'n' me—ya damn, clown!" B rhymed, his chakra-ink beginning to swirl.
"Shut it, B! Focus!" A snarled. "Lightning Release: Lariat!"
A vanished, turning into a blue bolt that tore toward Rasa faster than the eye could track. The air ripped apart with a sonic boom.
"Magnet Release: Gold Dust Shield Wall!"
Rasa slammed his hands together. A tide of gold rose, compacting into a thick, metallic rampart.
BOOM!!!
A's arm slammed into the gold. Wild electricity sprayed in every direction as the metal acted as a massive grounding wire. The wall shuddered, fine cracks racing across its face, yet it held, stopping the thunderous strike cold. The recoil forced A back; fury flashed across his face.
"Magnet Release: Gold Dust Spears!"
Rasa countered instantly. From the shield, dozens of razor-edged gold projectiles formed, screeching through the air.
"Yo~! Check this, Ink Flush jutsu!" B intervened, spewing a cloud of chakra-laced ink that scrambled sensory perception. The spears plunged into the darkness, missing their mark or being slapped aside by phantom octopus tentacles.
"Lightning Release: Guillotine Drop!"
Using the ink as cover, A vaulted sky-high, concentrating lightning into his leg like the axe of a thunder god, chopping down toward Rasa. Rasa didn't flinch.
"Magnet Release: Gold Dust Burial!"
The sea of gold roared upward like a tidal wave. Blue lightning and heavy gold collided head-first.
BOOOOM—!!!
A shockwave of sand and gold scoured the battlefield bare. As the smoke cleared, Rasa was breathing hard, his chakra reserves taxed by the constant manipulation of such a heavy medium. A landed beside B, his face dark. His strikes were being absorbed by a "clumsy" yet brutally effective defense.
Rasa's Gold Dust lacked the speed of the Raikage, but its overwhelming density and terrain-altering power provided a perfect counter to A's straight-line style. This stalemate bought Suna's other elites—Pakura, Baki, and Karura—the time they needed to push back the Cloud vanguards.
Suddenly, the ground trembled. A steady clack-clack echoed from the direction of the village. Hundreds of puppets appeared on the horizon—a cold, mechanical army of slaughter. At their head stood Elder Chiyo and Ebizo.
"Kumogakure rats! Daring to invade our Suna!" Chiyo's voice boomed. "Puppet Squad—attack!"
Poison needles, kunai, and flame-jets poured from the puppet army, crashing into the Cloud's flank. A smashed an onrushing puppet with a single punch but realized the momentum had shifted. Suna reinforcements were pouring in, and his long supply line was beginning to fray.
"Big bro, this is bad! The sand crone is here; a drawn-out fight ain't good for us~ yo!" B warned.
A roared in frustration but made the rational call. "All Kumo forces—retreat!"
The Cloud ninja pulled back with practiced discipline, vanishing into the desert haze. Chiyo halted the pursuit, knowing the danger of chasing the A-B Combination into the open.
Rasa let his gold disperse, sweat dripping from his brow. He had held the line. Standing at the edge of the field, Sayo watched the gold sink back into the sand. The sheer scale of Rasa's Magnet Release had left a permanent mark on his mind. The Cloud had been repelled, but the Third Great Ninja War was just beginning.
