With his physical foundation mended and his Chakra reserves stabilized at the Genin level, Sayo felt a rebirth of spirit. He knew this journey was not his alone; it was supported by the silent pillars of those who had believed in him.

His first stop was Elder Chiyo's study. Amidst the scent of ancient parchment and medicinal herbs, Sayo didn't boast of his "Body Tempering Furnace." He simply stood before her, his posture straight, and informed her that his health had improved to the point where Chakra extraction was no longer an obstacle.

Chiyo set down her brush and looked at him. Her sharp eyes, weathered by decades of war, saw through the surface. She saw the genuine color in his cheeks and the calm, grounded confidence in his gaze.

"Good," she said, a rare, genuine smile softening her features. "You have found your own path. But remember, Sayo: the root of strength is internal. Never let the tool become the master of the hand." Sayo bowed solemnly, grateful for her unspoken understanding.

The Grudging Respect of Genius

Next, he returned to Sasori's workshop. "Senior Sasori," Sayo said, "my body is better. My Chakra is sufficient for more advanced work."

Sasori didn't stop his hands, which were currently assembling a complex ocular sensor. His purple eyes swept over Sayo, noting the stable energy fluctuations. "Hmph. At least you don't look like you'll shatter if a breeze hits you anymore," Sasori remarked. "Perhaps I can waste a bit more material on your questions now. If you're done staring, leave." He flicked a scroll toward Sayo—a set of notes on joint load optimization that was far more advanced than anything Sayo had seen. It was Sasori's silent way of acknowledging that Sayo was now "worth" teaching.

Finally, he visited the Temple. Bunpuku beamed with a sun-like warmth, chanting "Amitabha" in pure joy. Even Shukaku's growl lacked its usual bite: [Finally, you don't look like a walking corpse. Now you might actually survive a few more of my insults without falling over!]

From Theory to Impact

With the "paper shackles" of his body removed, Sayo's cultivation exploded. He was no longer a strategist without a sword. He mastered the Earth Release: Headhunter Jutsu to the point where moving through the soil felt as natural as walking on sand.

Then, he turned to the Wind Release scrolls. He chose the D-rank Wind Release: Gale Palm (Reppūshō). This technique requires compressing Chakra in the palms to create a high-pressure burst of air.

For an ordinary Genin, the difficulty lies in the timing—compress too little, and the wind is a breeze; compress too much without control, and you rupture the tenketsu in your hands.

But Sayo's control was surgical. He treated his palms like high-pressure chambers. On his third attempt, he guided the flow into a miniature eye of a storm between his hands.

"Buzz!"

A translucent shockwave erupted, sent with enough force to kick up a cloud of dust and send a stone tumbling a meter away. He had mastered a new element in less than forty-eight hours.

During the day, he was the model apprentice in the Production Department, his hands moving with mechanical precision. At night, he lay in the Body Tempering Furnace, feeling his cells knit together and his Chakra reservoir slowly deepen. Sayo's life was now a high-velocity gear, spinning faster and faster as he finally began to close the gap between himself and the prodigies of the world.
