The concept of the Body Tempering Furnace lit a beacon in Sayo's mind, illuminating a path through the darkness of his own physical frailty. Yet, as with any great engineering feat, the brighter the vision, the more daunting the technical hurdles appeared. A grand blueprint required a cornerstone, and for Sayo, that cornerstone was the ability to refine raw, chaotic energy into a life-sustaining current.

Chakra was abundant, but in its raw form, it was an irritant. To achieve the "cellular baptism" he envisioned, he needed a way to strip Chakra of its "will"—the spiritual imprint of the caster—and transmute it into a neutral, Yang-heavy restorative energy. Traditional Medical Ninjutsu performed this conversion deep within the human tenketsu system, but Sayo needed to achieve this externally.

The Wall of Tradition

For weeks, Sayo haunted the Puppet Workshop's archives. He sketched dozens of conversion circuits, attempting to use sealing runes to filter and "rectify" the energy flow. But every simulation ended in failure. The efficiency was abysmal, and the energy dissipation was high. Any device he built using these designs would likely explode or, worse, inject "dirty" energy into his body, causing irreversible necrosis.

He realized the public archives were insufficient. To build a furnace, he needed to understand the bridge between wood and flesh. His thoughts turned to the only person in the village daring enough to blur those lines: Sasori.

Sayo approached Sasori's workshop with a simplified blueprint—a decoy designed to look like a high-efficiency power regulator for a combat puppet. Sasori didn't even stop his work as he glanced at the parchment.

"Stupid," Sasori muttered, his voice cold. "You're trying to reconcile different chakra attributes with a static pattern. Chakra is a manifestation of spirit; it is 'alive.' You cannot bind it with dead seals."

Sasori's critique, while harsh, provided the missing link. Chakra isn't dead. Sayo leaned in, his voice a respectful whisper. "Then, Senior... is there a core that can 'intelligently' process energy? One that can simulate vital activity to harmonize the flow?"

The "Discarded" Theory

A heavy silence fell over the workshop. Sasori's purple eyes locked onto Sayo's with a sudden, sharp appraisal. For a moment, the air felt thick with the weight of forbidden knowledge. Finally, Sasori reached into a dust-covered rack and tossed an ancient, frayed scroll at Sayo's feet.

"A garbage idea from a failed project," Sasori said, turning back to his bench. "Crude theories on maintaining energy vitality and mimicry cycles. Read it, destroy it, and stop wasting my time."

Sayo clutched the scroll. To Sasori, these were the discarded failures of his path toward the Human Puppet; to Sayo, they were the holy grail.

The Synthesis

Back in his hut, Sayo spread the scroll under the dim light of his lamp. The notes discussed a "mimicry cycle"—a way to create a core that didn't just store energy, but "breathed" it.

Inspiration erupted. Sayo began to cross-reference Sasori's "vitality maintenance" with the principles of Electrical Rectification and Transformers from his past life. He abandoned the idea of a forced filter. Instead, he designed a Resonance Field.

Inside this new core, he placed dual-loop circuits based on his Wind and Earth affinities. These loops would create a high-frequency vibration. When raw Chakra entered the core, it would be "shattered" by the resonance, neutralizing the original caster's spiritual imprint. This neutralized stream would then pass through a secondary "Yang-nurturing" chamber—a concept borrowed from the medical notes—until it became a gentle, bio-compatible life energy.

The brush flew across the paper. He annotated every stress point and calculated the energy-to-heat dissipation ratios. When the final stroke fell, the design was complete. It was a bridge between the precision of a machine and the fluidity of life.

He named it: The Puppet Core (Mark I).

It was only the first component of the furnace, but it was the most vital. He finally had a way to "clean" the fuel. Now, he just had to build it.
