Chapter 18 - Vol. 2 - Chapter 2 Heavenly Tribute

High above the sky, the massive Twin Goddesses plummeted under the force of gravity.

The two weren't particularly lucky. Everything had been going smoothly with their descent—until a massive upward sea current appeared out of nowhere.

Though both had awakened Observation Haki after five years of training—Enel's range, enhanced by the Goro Goro no Mi, far surpassed Yemu's—the sheer power of nature was overwhelming. From the moment they sensed something was off to when the rising current surged in front of them, only a dozen breaths had passed.

Even though they were quick to react and steer the ship, the massive current still caught the Twin Goddesses in its range, throwing it off course. The octopus balloon? Who knows where it ended up.

Still, the two standing by the rudder on deck didn't seem fazed.

In fact, they looked even more thrilled.

As the ship freefell, wind howled past their ears, and the two burst into laughter.

"Hahahahaha! This is insane!"

"This is what adventure's all about...!"

...

Of course, they weren't laughing because they were fools—it was because they had complete faith in the Twin Goddesses.

Not to mention, Yemu's flight abilities from the Mera Mera no Mi and Enel's teleportation with the Goro Goro no Mi meant they weren't the least bit afraid of falling.

Soon, after breaking through layer upon layer of clouds, a vast blue ocean came into view.

The breathtaking scene, a sea stretching out like the Milky Way, left them both in awe.

"So this is the Blue Sea? It's gorgeous!!!"

"A world like this is worth conquering!"

"Hahaha...!"

Even as they spoke in amazement, their hands moved without delay. Once the timing felt right, Yemu hit the flight power switch.

With a loud clack, about twenty cannon-like nozzles extended from the lower hull of the Twin Goddesses, and two sets of wooden wings unfolded on either side.

A visible blue shockwave burst out, and the powerful recoil instantly halted the descent. With the wings assisting, the ship glided smoothly across the sky in a graceful arc before landing steadily on the ocean surface.

"So beautiful..."

The view before Enel was unlike anything he'd ever seen. The endless expanse of ocean made all worries vanish, and for the first time, he truly felt the allure of the Blue Sea.

Yemu felt the same. In his previous world, he'd never really traveled—his trips had always been to inland cities. He'd never laid eyes on a sea like this.

But then, Enel suddenly asked a question that made Yemu's expression shift slightly.

"So, where are we heading next?"

He sounded eager, like he couldn't wait to conquer this new world.

Yemu froze for a moment—not because he didn't know where they were.

This was all within his expectations.

What stunned him was that he'd forgotten something very, very important:

The Log Pose.

In the Grand Line, the magnetic fields, weather patterns, ocean currents, and wind streams are all complete chaos. Even figuring out your own location is tough—let alone trying to find the next island.

Only the Log Pose and Eternal Pose can guide a navigator to the right island.

But right now, he had neither...

Enel's question still echoed in his ears. Yemu knew he couldn't let Enel, who had just arrived on the Grand Line, realize the embarrassing truth—that their captain and big brother hadn't even prepared the basics. So, he forced a calm expression and said,

"We're on the Grand Line now. We've just landed and haven't figured out our exact location yet. Once we find an island, we'll be able to determine where we are."

After speaking, Yemu looked out at the distant blue sea, though his thoughts were elsewhere.

"Looks like finding a navigator is top priority right now..."

Without one, and with his complete lack of sailing skills, he might not even make it to an enemy before the sea claimed him first.

He thought for a moment. He didn't know exactly what year it was, but judging from Enel's age, Nami had probably only just been born. So stealing the future Pirate King's navigator was out of the question. All he could do now was hope that fate would lead them to a reliable navigator.

The Twin Goddesses had been drifting at sea, but Yemu wasn't too worried. They had enough food on board to last at least a month, and with Sea Kings in the ocean, they had other resources if needed. Besides, even if the Age of Discovery hadn't fully started yet, he figured there would still be plenty of pirates on the Grand Line. Sooner or later, they were bound to run into someone.

Sure enough, after drifting for three days, Yemu finally encountered something...

...

On the deck of the Twin Goddesses.

The initial awe at the vast blue sea had worn off. Now, the two of them were feeling calm—maybe even a bit bored.

There was no helping it. The sea looked the same no matter where you were.

Luckily, the past three days had been smooth sailing. No storms, no extreme weather. If they'd run into something serious, they'd have been in deep trouble.

Unluckily, they hadn't seen a single island. Not even a ship.

Fortunately, they weren't the type to get bored easily. After all, ten years of relentless training had made their bodies used to repetition.

On deck, Yemu was deep squatting while holding a ten-ton barbell in each hand, while Enel was lifting another ten-ton barbell in a steady push-pull motion.

After about an hour, they finally stopped. They wheeled out a cart full of food and wine from the cabin and started feasting.

"We can't keep going like this. Looks like we'll have to start fishing. Wonder how Sea Kings from the Blue Sea taste compared to the ones on Skypiea..."

Yemu grumbled between mouthfuls, food stuffed into his cheeks.

Enel didn't even respond. He kept eating without pause.

It was no surprise—Yemu had always handled the food over the past ten years. Enel never had to worry about it and was long used to that arrangement.

But suddenly, Enel froze mid-bite. He turned his head toward the sea and wiped the red fruit juice from the corner of his mouth.

"What's up... Did you sense something?"

Yemu knew Enel wouldn't do that for no reason, so he stopped chewing and looked in the same direction.

The sea was calm. Just water as far as the eye could see.

But Yemu knew—Enel had either seen something... or sensed it.

Sure enough, Enel pointed and said,

"There's a ship approaching... Hmm... I can hear it. Sounds like it's transporting some kind of Heavenly Tribute..."
