Oakhaven , a town of sunshines and open hearts . It was 1981 , A time when the biggest worry of most parent was a sudden rainy weekend or a flat tire . The sun always seem to stay in a warm glow , reflecting off the chrome bumpers of the car . It was a place where you would never expect anything bad could happen , because it was truly peaceful
The Oakhaven Elementary school sat at the edge of the town . It was a school like all typical school in the '80s , where children from all across town would come and study . Behind the school there stand an old forest with a wall of thick , dark oak trees that seems very old
It was an afternoon like all other afternoon , the playground was full of kids , screaming and having fun . A group of boys were playing football on the open yard .
"Toby , I'll past you the ball , catch it ! " a boy name Leo shouted to his friend , then he kick the ball as hard as he could . Unfortunaly , he kick it too hard , the soccer ball fly across the yard , bouncing multiple time and eventually bounce past the fences and into the forest , disappeared into the dark shadows of the oak trees.
"I'm not getting it !" one boy yelled , looking through the fences into the wood " Its the forest , the teacher says we cant go their. "
"Oh come on , don't be a baby" Toby said , wiping the sweat from his forehead " I'll get it " .
The other boys watches as Toby climb through the fences and ran toward the woods . He dissapear into the shadow. His bright yellow shirt was the last thing they saw. Minutes passed .The other sound of the other childrens playing seems to grow smaller and smaller . Tony didn't come back
"TOBY !?" Leo shouted out . " Hurry up , the bell is going to ring soon." some more minutes pass , no awnsers
Suddenly , Toby's voice ripped through the forest . It wasn't a scream of pain , it was a scream of a panicking person calling out for help,
Leo imediatly jump through the fences and ran into the woods . There , he found Toby standing still , frozen , staring at a hollow log . Inside the log was a boy from their school , probally the same age as theirs . He looked like he was sleeping , but he was naked . Something or someone had cut open his body with a single and clean cut from the neck to the waist . There was no blood around . It looked like the body has been washed and clean up . Inside his chest , sitting in the place where his heart should be , was a small brass key It shined and dim like gold
Leo's scream, it was high and sharp, large enough to caught the attention of all the people at school
Miss Evelyn was the first one to reach them. She pushed through the thick brush, her floral dress snagging on the thorns of the oak trees. She stopped right behind Toby and looked down into the hollow log.
She froze. Her face went pale, and her eyes went wide with pure, honest terror. She was looking at a nightmare. She let out a choked gasp, her hands flying to her mouth to stifle a scream.
"Oh, God," she whispered, her voice trembling. She looked at the brass key and then back at the boy, her breath coming in short, panicked bursts. She looked like she was going to faint.
She quickly turned, grabbing Leo and Toby by their shoulders to shield their eyes. "Don't look! Get back! Run back to the school, now!" She was sobbing now, her body shaking with fear as she ushered the children away from the woods.
By sunset, the Sheriff and polices was at the school. The sheriff told the gathered parents it was a mountain lion a freak accident from the woods
