Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 Super Training Stake and the Second Blue Skill

"Ding! You've won! The final score is SS!"

"Rewards: Training Pile ×5, Super Training Pile ×2, Energy Drink ×3, Medical Bandage ×1, Blue Fragments ×20!"

"Super Training Pile: Skip training today and you'll become a cut cock tomorrow! Within one hour, the training effect is increased tenfold! (Effects cannot be stacked)."

"Ding! You consumed 20 Blue Fragments and unlocked the Blue Player-Level Skill: Pull the Ball Behind Your Foot."

Pull the Ball Behind Your Foot: Pull the ball back and make it roll from behind the supporting foot to the other side. There's a chance the opponent will be tricked into stretching his foot. After completing the move, explosive power is slightly increased for three seconds.

Kai was stunned.

First, a critical hit on Blue Fragments—under normal circumstances, you can't get this many at once.

Second, he finally unlocked a technical skill!

He was finally a little closer to being a real technical player.

Look at the previous skills: Hunting, Tackling…

Is the system trying to turn him into the next Kante?

World's number one defensive midfielder sounds fancy, sure. But Chelsea isn't handing out contracts to Kante clones here.

Let's be honest: no matter how good a defensive player is, it's not as sexy as slick ball control and flashy dribbles.

Strength is temporary; style is forever!

Defensive skills? Rubbish.

Black Panther Hunting: ???

Fierce Tackle: And then? I leave?

Ahem.

The back-foot pull is actually a standard ball control move. Anyone can try it. Compared with moves like the Cow's Tail, Marseille Slalom, or even the Chain Bicycle, the back-heel pass and shot are less flashy.

But the action itself doesn't matter. That three-second explosive power bonus? Holy hell, that's insane.

Avoid a challenge, then explode.

What do you think the system wants Kai to do?

Drive forward! Enter the penalty area! Be an attacking midfielder!

Add the previous two skills, and Kai can live in the frontcourt and never look back.

The Super Training Pile? Also ridiculous. Ten times the training effect. Too cruel. Kai always felt uneasy if he didn't use it immediately.

"Cristiano Ronaldo, come practice with me some more!" Kai jumped up, full of energy.

"I just came back!" Ronaldo groaned, exhausted.

"Haha, I knew you'd be weak. You're no match for me in training," Kai said, shaking his head mockingly.

"Let's go! If I don't train you into the ground, I'll drive you crazy!"

Ronaldo couldn't resist a simple taunt.

As the two kids carried the football out, Kai's mother and father commented over the newspaper:

"Come back early. Don't overtrain—think about your body's limits."

After they left, Kai's mother stuck the newspaper clipping in her notebook, smiling:

"We Chinese reporters are still kind. Look how well she writes! Our son might one day become a midfielder in Europe's top five leagues!"

Father Deng agreed.

But at this moment, the reporter faced a huge problem.

The manuscript she sent to China had all been rejected.

That's why she posted some opinion pieces on other platforms.

Jiang Yunzhu had been following Kai since the Diamond Generation Invitational Tournament.

But after the tournament, Kai was ignored in the transfer market, looked down on by superstars like Jardel, and questioned by many European fans.

Publishing articles about him in China was risky.

Jiang Yunzhu waited for the right moment.

She wanted to deliver sensational news and see Kai have a perfect debut in China.

Otherwise, Kai could easily be treated like he didn't exist.

After joining Sporting Lisbon's youth team, Kai quickly had a feud with Andoua.

Kai's talent made him stand out, showing his unsuitability for U15 mediocrity.

Waiting for the king's return, Jiang Yunzhu felt the moment had come.

She wanted to show domestic fans a new Chinese football genius, titling her article: "I Come, I See, I Conquer!"

Her headquarters rejected it.

The email made it clear:

"Your opinion isn't important right now. The domestic market is in fierce competition with 'Football.'

'Football' has partnered with the Jianlibao team, using European football info to strike back, even receiving support from the Football Association.

We are contacting top young players to capture the U15 market ignored by Jianlibao, form a U15 team, and compete against Europe's youth teams. This project is in preparation and may take players to Europe around Chinese New Year. Your Europe-based reporters must find a cooperating club—preferably a wealthy one!"

This task kept all Sports Weekly reporters in Europe busy.

Jiang Yunzhu flew to Italy that day but couldn't even meet the wealthy clubs. She had to drop her original focus and devote energy to this mission.

October 26th.

The new league round began.

As the previous round's top playmaker, Kai drew huge attention.

For the first time, he received applause from the sidelines before entering the stadium.

His lightning long-range goal had even been featured in last week's "Highlights of Europe's Top Leagues."

"Hey, did you hear?" Ronaldo whispered mysteriously. "Andoua can't play football anymore."

Kai shook his head, uninterested.

"His brother was arrested after a fight outside the stadium. Police investigated his gang and found gambling and drug use. Andoua had used his brother's position to influence games," Ronaldo explained.

"The police determined that Andoua committed a crime by using his player status to gamble for profit. Under the Law on the Protection of Minors, he won't face more than compulsory labor."

"But Qatar Sports fired him. No youth team will touch him with that record. His football career is over."

Kai was stunned.

Over?

Andoua… only fourteen. He had performed well in the U15 league and appeared on the rising star list last month.

A professional contract by eighteen and youth national team call-ups? That would've been doable.

But one wrong step—just one. His brother ruined everything.

Kai looked at Ronaldo: "A bad relative can ruin the whole family. Cristiano, I remember you said something about your brother…"

Ronaldo's expression darkened.

Andoua really was unlucky. Many in his family bought football opportunities—but his brother got arrested, had a gang background, and this coincided with Sporting Lisbon's spotlighted defeat. The media attention amplified the impact.

Ronaldo's own family also had issues. His older brother helped raise him but contracted bad habits along the way.

"Yeah…" Ronaldo hesitated, unsure what to say.

"You just play football well. Don't betray your family's trust," Kai said. "When the time comes, he'll understand. And he'll be grateful for the sacrifices made for you. It's all worth it."

Ronaldo nodded solemnly.
