Chapter 22 - Item Shopping

Deep into the market Sebas, Yue, and the old advisor were browsing at each of the stalls. None of them were very excited though. Ever since their master went unconscious they couldn't access their connection with her. It was as if they connection suddenly became one way. They could feel it was still there but they couldn't peer through it. Before the only thing stopping them from accessing their masters' memories and current thoughts was their loyalty, but now none of them had the mental fortitude to break past these new defenses. If they really thought about it they would realize that this actually started when she began relying on her instincts but they were all far too worried to be thinking about that.

Suddenly they felt an irresistible pull as a girl approached. She looked to be eight or nine years old but she looked a tad short for that age. She had skin as white as snow, red irises, and white hair with black highlights. She looked almost identical to their master after her growth spurt but without the tail and ears that made her so recognizable. She was wearing denim shorts and a black crop top. It looked as if her style reached adolescence before her physic did.

"What are you staring at so dumbly?" said Cynthia annoyed "You've got a lot to explain about your recent actions!". "I have no idea what you mean my lady!" said Sebas and Yue almost at the same time. "Not you!" replied Cynthia "You really know how to test my patience! As a former advisor you'd think you'd know how to not overstep your station, but you just keep finding ways to irritate, disrespect, and embarrass me!". "I did everything I thought was necessary!" said the ape. "Really? You didn't think clothing me was important before carrying me through the streets?" said Cynthia "and what about you telling those two that you knew they'd be rewarded and taking them window shopping to find something they like?". "Am I wrong that you would reward them?" said the zombie "and clothing you didn't come to mind because we are beasts!". The onlookers were now very confused because humanoid beasts always had differences in their physique that differentiated them from humans but the little girl seemed to have no beast characteristics.

"It's common sense!" said Cynthia angrily "even if you are a beast, you've been around humans enough to know that being dressed is important! Why do you think they don't walk around with nothing on? It's embarrassing and humiliating!". "Moreover on the reward issue, yes I was going to give them and you a reward, but it is certainly not your place as an advisor to say that to other subordinates!" continued Cynthia "you've gotten far too comfortable and I know it's because you don't view me as your superior. This is why instead of a reward like you were going to get, I'm going to give you a punishment instead.". "Yes, my lady." said the old advisor in resignation.

"Now, Sebas" said Cynthia with an unreadable expression. "Yes, my lady?" said Sebas, now very worried because he couldn't tell what his master was thinking. "You did an excellent job, and I am fully aware that you wish to be more useful to me," said Cynthia "I have a suggestion for your reward. There is an item here at the market that can give you a human form. It would give you a form capable of using weapons. Even if your legs are lethal weapons we can amputate one of them and regrow it so someone can refine it into an even deadlier weapon.". "That sounds excellent!" said Sebas. "Moreover it would put me more at ease to have someone who looks similar." said Cynthia "since you agree that's what we will do.". "My lady, may I request the same reward?" asked Yue. "Of course!" said Cynthia, "we will also commission some weapons using parts of your bodies."

the group of beasts and human made their way to an actual storefront instead of a stall. It was an open design which had a storefront, a workshop, and a smithy all within view. In the workshop was a delicate woman holding an antler of some sort. She was using the antler to break of pieces of a gemstone that looked to be obsidian but the aura it gave off was certainly not that of ordinary obsidian. Cynthia was the only one who could sense the attribute of the aura through her talent in mana manipulation. It had a strong aura of change and renewal. The crafter woman though seemed to be removing the aura of renewal with every chunk she broke off, effectively isolating the aura of change. Even though the auras were interwoven in the material in a chaotic tapestry it was as if the woman gently guided a string of a certain color out of a tangled knot with every swing of the antler. The mastery in manipulating auras was not exclusive to the crafter though, as the smith was just as adept with the auras involved in his craft. The smith looked to be a bald old man with a thick beard. What was even more unusual was his height and the shape of his ears. He couldn't be more than three feet tall and his ears were small and circular. Cynthia recognized this man as a race from fantasy stories all over earth. This man was a dwarf. Moreover now that Cynthia was paying attention she noticed the person standing behind a desk with an abacus on it as well as various trinkets with price tags. She was very tall, Well over six feet. She had a long angular face and a skinny build. Most notably were her ears. Her ears were long and pointed. She was definitely a type of elf.

The time it took Cynthia to view the scene and draw conclusions was frighteningly short. Even for a lord she took in the scene exceedingly quickly. "Haven't seen a xingxing around here in quite a long time!" said the shop keep "make sure you behave yourself in our shop I'll have you know that all three of us are retired adventurers who have fought and killed our fair share of beasts.". "I assure you, he's mild mannered with the exception of his loose tongue." said Cynthia "The body may be mostly xingxing, but the soul is a daft old spider.". "Well aren't you precious!" said the crafter lady looking up from her obsidian and antler "we don't get many children in our shop!". "Take a better look at her mana!" Said the dwarf smith "I'd say given her demeanor and the spiders and xingxing by her side as well as her huge amount of mana that she's that rumored little butcher!". "I haven't decided whether I like that name or not." said Cynthia now slightly frowning "I'll have you know that I was influenced by certain powers during that time.". "Oh please! You have a murderous aura about you right now!" said the smith "You may have lost your composure but the effects of this domain can't spur on nothing! At least not when the god and their worshipers aren't present.". "Now now Klein! Don't be rude!" said the crafter woman. "Julia is right." said the elf "there's no need to start problems with a potential customer.".

"My name is Nirvana" said the elf "How can I help you?". "We came here to buy two obsidian mirrors so that my two spider companions can attain a human form" said Cynthia "We'd also like to commission weapons made of their front legs for them to wield in human form.". "we can absolutely do that!" said Nirvana "What grade bloodline do they have?". "I'm told it's a legendary bloodline." said Cynthia. As the elf was using the abacus she suddenly dropped it as she heard the words that left Cynthia's mouth. The elf looked absolutely stunned as her mouth gaped. The crafter Julia and the smith Klein also stopped what they were doing and looked at the customers in stunned silence. "Will there be a problem?" asked Cynthia. The smith was the first to speak "Little lady, coming here to commission such an item is like tossing pearls before swine." said Klein "I doubt anyone in this entire city has the capabilities to manufacture a legendary tier weapon.". "Moreover" said the crafter "Legendary tier weapon either choose their owner or need to be dominated and forced Into submission as they have their own will.". "I'm confident the second won't be a problem as it is from their own bodies and even if it doesn't except them I am confident I can force them to submit." said Cynthia. "I understand that you are very powerful. Maybe even a fourth circle, but forcing a legendary weapon into submission is not such an easy task!" said Klein.

Cynthia pondered for a moment. "Would a divine bloodline be sufficient?" asked Cynthia after a few solid seconds. "Little lady if a divine bloodline were here to assist making the weapons and forcing them to submit would be simple! The difference between a divine bloodline and a legendary one is quite literally the difference between and god and a king!". Cynthia then transformed a bit. Her tail sprouted and flowed and lashed as if she was a cat who had spotted prey. Her ears grew atop her head as her human ears shrank and disappeared. Her new ears twitched and flicked in anticipation. "Nice to meet you, I am Cynthia of the Celestial White Tiger clan." said Cynthia in a very smug voice. It appeared as childish gloating which is exactly what it was. It looked very cute as pretty much any expression she had in this form looked cute. The only real indication that she was practically a force of nature was the murderous aura she gave off, but even that was fighting with the pure regal energy given off by her bloodline.
