~Jade's POV~
"Xavier."
His eyes briefly changed to their lovely blue before turning red again.
My feet betrayed me. I did not know where the confidence came from, but seeing Xavier, the most composed of the Alpha Triplets, attack a student, I rushed forward.
"Xavier, please stop." I pulled him back. His jaw clenched. "Look at me," I said firmly.
For a moment, he did not. Then slowly, he did.
The fury in his eyes softened just slightly. "Jade," he said, and even through the anger, my name sounded strained.
"What happened?" I asked softly, but when I got no response, I hollered. "Xavier, what's going on? Why did you attack him?"
"He…" he fell silent. His lips trembled as though he was holding back from speaking the truth.
On the other hand, the boy swallowed hard. "I… I didn't do anything wrong. I was joking."
My stomach twisted. "Joking about what?" I demanded.
