The two attendants stared at him for a heartbeat longer before their shock melted into wide smiles.
"You became even more charming," the first attendant said, her eyes sparkling as she tilted her head to examine his face from another angle.
"Yes," the second added quickly, stepping closer without hesitation, "more than before. You were handsome four years ago, but now… it feels different."
They both broke into soft laughter, the kind that carried warmth instead of mockery.
Cain blinked, unsure how to respond.
The first attendant suddenly leaned in and lightly tapped his nose with her finger.
"Boop," she said playfully.
The second gasped. "Ah, you did it first."
She followed without shame and tapped his nose as well, laughing. "Boop."
Cain froze, his mind blank for a second.
He did not pull away. He did not scold them. He simply allowed it.
They laughed again, their shoulders shaking, and the carriage filled with the sound of their joy.
