Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Five Become One

Day 50 - The ceremony

"This is excessive," I said, looking at the elaborate setup in the sacred grove.

"This is tradition," Ina corrected. "A white wolf with five mates completing all bonds? This hasn't happened in centuries. We're doing this properly."

The grove had been transformed. Silver ribbons hung from trees. Candles lined the Seventy-three, white and silver, covered every surface.

And at the center, under the full moon, an altar waited.

"Do I have to wear this?" I gestured to the ceremonial robe Grandmother Sari had insisted on.

"Yes," Ina said. "It's tradition."

"It's uncomfortable."

"Beauty requires sacrifice."

"I've done enough sacrificing, thanks."

She laughed. "Just wear the robe. You can take it off later."

"That's the plan."

My five mates were somewhere getting their own ceremonial preparations. Apparently we couldn't see each other before the ceremony.

Like a wedding. But with more biting and power sharing.

"You're nervous," Sahya observed.

"I'm not nervous."

"You're fidgeting."

"I'm adjusting the robe."

"You've adjusted it six times."

"It's very adjustment-worthy."

"You're nervous because this makes it official. Real. Permanent."

"It's already permanent. We've completed the bonds."

"This makes it public. Pack-recognized. Blessed by Mahina herself."

She was right. And yeah, that was terrifying.

Not the mates part. I wanted them. Loved them. Chose them.

But the ceremony. The attention. Everyone watching.

"You'll be fine," Ina said gently. "Just be yourself. The white wolf who told off an Alpha, fought ancient evil, and claimed five mates through sheer stubbornness."

"When you put it that way, I sound impressive."

"You are impressive."

Through the bonds, I felt my mates preparing. Their nervous excitement. Their love. Their anticipation.

"They're just as nervous as you," Sahya said.

"That's comforting and also concerning."

"Welcome to having five mates."

---

The ceremony began at moonrise.

The entire pack gathered in moonrise, hundreds of wolves bearing witness.

Ina stood at the altar, looking every bit the ancient Moon Speaker she was.

"We gather tonight," she began, her voice carrying across the silent crowd, "to witness something rare. Something precious. The formal claiming ceremony of the white wolf and her five mates."

Silver light filled the grove, not from candles, but from somewhere else.

Somewhere divine.

Mahina was here. Watching. Blessing.

My five mates entered from different directions, all wearing ceremonial robes that matched mine.

Elara from the east. Raka from the south. Rivan from the west. Tama from the north. Bima from above, he'd apparently climbed a tree for dramatic effect.

They converged at the altar where I waited.

"Ayla," Ina said. "Do you accept these five as your mates? Your partners? Your equals?"

"I do."

"Do you promise to share your power, your strength, your life with them?"

"I do."

"Do you claim them as yours, and yourself as theirs?"

"I do."

She turned to my mates. "And do you five accept Ayla as your mate? Your partner? Your equal?"

"We do," they said in unison.

"Do you promise to fight beside her, protect with her, love her?"

"We do."

"Do you claim her as yours, and yourselves as hers?"

"We do."

Ina smiled. "Then by the power of the Moon Goddess, by pack law and personal choice, I declare these bonds complete and blessed. You are mated. You are pack. You are one."

Silver light exploded outward from the altar, washing over all of us.

The bonds, all five of them, blazed with power.

And I felt Mahina's presence, warm and approving.

"Well done, child," her voice echoed in my mind. *You chose well. Love well. Live well.*

The light faded.

The pack erupted in celebration.

And my five mates surrounded me, all of them grinning like idiots.

"We're officially yours now," Elara said.

"You were already officially mine."

"Yes, but now it's got Mahina's seal of approval," Rivan added.

"That makes it extra official," Tama agreed.

"Super official," Bima said.

"Excessively official," Raka finished.

I laughed. "You're all ridiculous."

"We're your ridiculous," Elara corrected.

"Unfortunately accurate."

---

The pack celebrated long into the night.

Food, music, dancing, the first real joy since the Gerhana attack.

My mates stayed close, all of them tactile and possessive and absolutely shameless about showing everyone I was theirs.

"You're being excessive," I told Raka after the third time he kissed my shoulder in public.

"I'm being appropriately demonstrative."

"You're being a show-off."

"Same thing."

Eventually, Ina appeared. "The ceremony continues."

"There's more?" I asked.

"The private part. Mates only. In the sacred chamber."

She led us deeper into the grove to a structure I hadn't noticed before. Small, intimate, glowing with silver light.

Inside was one large space with soft floors and moonlight streaming through a glass ceiling.

"This is where mates finalize their bonds," Ina explained. "Complete the ceremony. Become truly one."

"All of us?" Bima asked. "Together?"

"Yes. The white wolf and her five mates. Together. As it should be."

She left, sealing the door behind her.

Silence fell.

"So," I said. "This is happening."

"Apparently," Elara agreed.

"All of us," Rivan added.

"Together," Tama finished.

"I'm not complaining," Bima said.

"Neither am I," Raka added, eyes dark with want.

Through the bonds, I felt their anticipation. Their desire. Their love.

All of them wanting me. All of them mine.

"Rules," I said.

They all looked at me.

"I'm in control. All of you follow my lead. You do what I say, when I say it, how I say it. Understood?"

"Yes," they said together.

"Good." I smiled. "Then let's complete this bond properly."

What followed was intense, intimate, and absolutely perfect.

Elara, tender and playful, making me laugh even as he worshipped every inch of me.

Raka, possessive and fierce, his dominance balanced by absolute obedience to my commands.

Rivan, worshipful and poetic, every touch deliberate and reverent.

Tama, structured and obedient, following my instructions perfectly, finding freedom in submission.

Bima, raw and powerful, his strength gentled but no less impressive.

All five of them serving me. Pleasing me. Loving me.

And through the bonds, power flowed. Not just physical pleasure, but something deeper.

Connection. Unity. Completion.

When it was over, much later, we lay tangled together, all of us marked and satisfied and absolutely content.

"That was..." Elara started.

"Perfect," Rivan finished.

"Intense," Tama added.

"Amazing," Bima said.

"Mine," Raka concluded.

"Ours," I corrected. "All of us. Together."

Through the bonds, I felt the pack connections solidify. Not just my mates, but everyone.

The entire pack glowed with shared power. Unified. Strong. Unbreakable.

"This is what you were meant for," Sahya said. "Not to be the strongest. To be the center. The heart. The connection that holds everything together."

"We did good."

"We did great."

I pulled my mates closer. "I love you. All of you."

"We know," they said together.

"But we love you too," Elara added.

"Obviously," Raka said.

"Eternally," Rivan promised.

"Completely," Tama agreed.

"Forever," Bima finished.

Through the bonds, mate bonds and pack bonds, I felt absolute certainty.

This was real. This was permanent. This was home.

Five mates. One pack. One heart.

Finally complete.

Seventy-three.
