Chapter 8 - Bonds of First Trial

The clearing had quieted, but Lin Feng's heartbeat remained fast. Etherion's first trial was complete, yet he knew it was only the beginning.

Lunaria floated beside him, her drones hovering gently. "You handled yourself well. But the real challenge isn't just survival—it's learning to rely on others."

Lin Feng nodded. "I know. I've learned from my past lives… strength alone isn't enough."

Nyx appeared from the shadows, crossing her arms with a faint smirk. "I have to admit, you were better than I expected. But don't let that go to your head. You'll need more than instinct to survive the next trials."

The three of them walked toward the edge of the forest. The glowing trees cast long shadows, and Lin Feng could sense the faint energy signatures of other challengers preparing for their own trials.

"This trial…" Lunaria began, "was designed to measure not only power but trust. You have shown coordination, but the next stage will test emotions and teamwork. You will need to anticipate each other's moves, not just react."

Lin Feng glanced at Nyx. The dark-haired elf had a confident aura, but he could see her curiosity and slight admiration hidden beneath it. He realized then that his companions weren't just allies—they were individuals who would grow alongside him.

"Lunaria, Nyx," Lin Feng said firmly, "we've survived the first challenge together. From now on, we'll face every trial as a team. I won't fail, and I won't let either of you fail."

Lunaria's soft smile showed a flicker of warmth. "Good. That determination will carry you further than raw power."

Nyx tilted her head, a shadow of a smile on her lips. "You're not bad at inspiring loyalty. Maybe this team will survive longer than I expected."

For Lin Feng, the first trial had been about survival. The second would be about understanding, strategy, and bonds—the real strength behind champions.

Etherion watched, the forest glowing faintly around them, and a new challenge awaited.

Lin Feng clenched his fists, feeling the energy surge inside him. "No matter what comes, we'll face it together. This is just the beginning."

And with that, the path to the championship stretched out before them, more dangerous and more thrilling than ever.
