[3rd POV]
She thankfully ended up letting her go a few moments later, but not after fussing over her when Billie was literally gasping for air. She really needed to learn how to control her strength more, because damn is that woman a lot stronger than she looked.
"Jesus Gloria, you really need to remember that you are way stronger than you think" Billie said with a wheeze, as she held her ribs slightly. The hug genuinely hurt, not like to an agonizing level, but she squeezed way harder than what was comfortable.
"Oh no! I am so sorry Billie! I just get so excited and forget to control myself! I've always had a strong hug, even back when I was just a little girl. Nearly knocked my cousin unconscious from it" Gloria replied, giving her an apologetic look.
She had not meant to hurt her or anything. But she had never really bothered to control how tightly she hugs someone, because most of the time they were fine with it and didn't say anything about it.
But now she was realizing that they were not saying anything just to be nice. And most likely they had also been in some pain after how tightly she hugged them.
"It's fine Gloria, just make sure to keep in mind that you are scarily strong, like, way stronger than I think you realize" Billie replied, waving off her concern. The pain was already minimal so it wasn't a problem.
Billie assumed that Gloria was that strong physically due to her past and the things she has had to deal with over the decades. Growing up in Columbia and in an area in Columbia that was...not particularly safe. She remembered watching the show and all the batshit crazy stories that Gloria would have about her past.
And now they were all very real, and did happen. Which made her feel bad for the older woman, knowing she had suffered a lot to get to where she was today. She was easily the one that went through the most trauma in the family.
Not that it was a competition or anything.
"Still, I cannot help but feel bad that I may have injured you" Gloria responded, concern still clearly on her face. It was hard not to be concerned when she heard the open pain that the girl had been in, showing that the hug really was a lot stronger than she had thought.
"Gloria, seriously, I'm fine. Now, moving onto something that is not so dramatic. What sort of songs do you want to hear from me? I've got quite a few Spanish songs I can make, but their genres vary wildly" Billie asked, curious to hear her response.
She also just wanted to move onto...whatever that was. Because Gloria was taking it way too seriously when it was just a simple mistake and nothing more.
Gloria sighed at her trying to change the subject, and decided to let her.
"Hmm, well It matters on what sort of areas you wish to appeal to! Do you want to do romantic like a good salsa? Or do you want to do something more "Hip hop" and more clubbing or parties?" Gloria asked, getting a deadpan from Billie.
"Gloria, I am asking you which one I should do. As in, which one you think would be the most interesting or most popular" Billie replied, giving her the blankest look she could muster.
It felt like Gloria ignored what she had just said a few moments ago.
"Oh! Apologies. Well in that case I would say hip hop or more party vibes would be what you should go for. A good song for a salsa or weddings can be nice, but they are so...cliche, and are already very popular. Whereas it's hard to find decent club music in Spanish nowadays. All the best stuff is from the 80s and 90s" Gloria said after contemplating for a short while.
"That's what I kind of assumed, since I do know a bit about the music space in South America, but I just wanted to make sure. It also works out well since most of the music that I have prepped in Spanish is from that sort of area" Billie replied, knowing a lot of the music was indeed that sort.
Bad Bunny would be the main artist she would use the music of in this case. Since back in her past life he was (to her knowledge) by far the largest Spanish singing artist in the world (or at least the biggest that sang in almost entirely Spanish).
"How many songs have you made in other languages?" Gloria couldn't help but ask, growing increasingly curious the more she heard Billie speak in other languages and making music for them.
"Hmm. Last I checked? I've got like 40 songs in Spanish, 20 or so in French, a dozen or so in Italian, 50 or so in Japanese, and around the same amount in Korean" Billie replied after reviewing the numbers in her head.
She basically had songs for the most popular languages for songs, at least in the US.
"I also have a handful in German, Swedish, Greek, and Turkish" Billie added, knowing that she had only like 15 songs in total between those four languages. They were a lot harder to remember, and a lot harder to sing in general.
She imagined that she would do them eventually, but probably after doing some other languages in the future.
"Wow...you truly are a little genius, aren't you?" Gloria asked, staring at her in surpise. Knowing that many languages at the age of 18 was kind of crazy. She knew Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, German, Swedish, Greek, Turkish, and of course English.
Being fluent in that many languages at that age was well beyond the norm. And if what she believed about Billie was true, there was a very good chance that she will learn even more languages just to sing in them.
"Eh, I'm just good with languages and singing, not much beyond that" Billie replied with a shrug, not finding it that impressive. At least to her own opinion. She knew that realistically what she did was not normal, and was very impressive.
But she just didn't see it that way. Not when she had knowledge of her past life, which should make it far better and easier.
"Just good with languages and singing she says" Gloria said, throwing her hands up in exasperation. She realized that Billie genuinely did not understand how incredible what she did was.
She doubted she ever would.
Gloria wouldn't even bother with trying to persuade her otherwise, as she had a good feeling that Billie wouldn't listen to it. The girl was just like her girlfriend. Both her and Haley were damn stubborn when they wanted to be. And not even Claire, Jay, or herself could get either of them to stop when they wanted to do something, or thought about something.
Gloria was pretty sure that Billie was the only one that could get Haley to not be stubborn, and vice versa.
Either way, Gloria was very pleased to hear that Billie would eventually be making some music in Spanish.
And very excited to hear how it came out.
She just hoped it was as good as the rest of her music. Because if it wasn't...
Billie would probably not have much of a fan base in South America.
