Chapter 3 - The True Value of Twenty Battle Power

The pterosaur was startled, then burst out laughing.

"You little runt—you dare threaten me?

Heh, guess I'll just eat you too!"

Before the words even finished, it lunged straight at Goku.

Goku leapt into the air and snapped out a whip-like kick that slammed into the creature's mouth.

Caught completely off guard, the pterosaur staggered backward, loosening its grip on Bulma.

In a flash, Goku darted forward, scooped Bulma into his arms, and set her safely behind him.

Bulma pressed a hand to her chest, still shaken.

"Goku… good thing you came so fast. That thing was about to eat me…"

Goku glanced at her. "You didn't wet yourself, did you?"

The question made Bulma flush bright red.

"W-What are you saying?! Of course I didn't!"

[Mission: Prevent her from wetting herself — Completed.

Reward: +10 battle power credited!]

In an instant, power surged through Goku once more.

Just completing two missions was already worth several years of brutal training.

Not bad at all.

If things kept going like this, doing missions really might be the way to go.

Way easier than training—and before long, he could probably beat King Piccolo with one hand.

Seeing Bulma taken from its grasp, the pterosaur flew into a rage.

"You little brat! You stole my food!

I'll show you what happens when you mess with me!"

Bulma quickly hid behind Goku, pointing at the monster.

"Goku, hit it!"

This was a dinosaur—bigger and stronger than that tiger.

Goku didn't waste words.

He pulled out his Power Pole and swung it with everything he had.

Only now did he realize something was different.

As the staff cut through the air, a violent gale roared outward.

Boom!

The pterosaur's massive body was split clean in two, blood and flesh spraying everywhere.

After tearing through the creature, the Power Pole slammed into the ground.

The earth couldn't withstand the force.

A bottomless fissure ripped open, stretching far into the distance.

Bulma's jaw nearly hit the floor.

"T-That's… incredible…

This kid's strength is way beyond anything I imagined…"

Goku stared at the massive crack in the ground as well, stunned.

All that from just twenty extra battle power…

The value of early power increases was insane.

Having been saved twice, Bulma felt nothing but gratitude.

If Goku hadn't come with her, she would've died long before collecting all seven Dragon Balls.

Without realizing it, his importance in her heart had risen sharply.

Bulma got back on her motorcycle, and Goku climbed on behind her.

Only then did she realize his arms were a little short—he couldn't quite reach the handholds.

Earlier, he'd ridden all the way down the mountain without holding onto anything, not even afraid of falling.

After a moment's thought, she gently placed his hands around her waist.

"Goku, hold on tighter. Don't fall off halfway."

Goku froze.

She smelled so nice…

"O-Okay…"

They rode on until the sun sank below the horizon.

Bulma stopped the bike and turned around.

"I'm hungry, and it's getting dark. Let's stop here for today."

"Okay," Goku nodded, hopping off.

Bulma quickly put away the motorcycle and took out a beautifully designed capsule house.

Even with two lifetimes of experience, Goku had never seen one before. He stared at it in fascination.

Bulma smiled proudly. "Pretty nice, right?"

"Yeah. It's really pretty."

"I know, right? And it's even more comfortable inside. Come on in!"

They stepped inside. The air was filled with a soft, girlish fragrance, and the pink walls made it feel warm and cozy.

As Bulma took off her jacket, she said casually, "We've been traveling all day and we're both sweaty.

Take off your clothes too—I'll wash them for you. There's a washing machine here."

Goku froze, then suddenly slapped his forehead.

"Oh no… I forgot. I didn't bring any spare clothes."

Bulma laughed. "That's fine. You can wear mine for tonight—I've got plenty.

By tomorrow, your clothes will be dry."

Goku frowned. "Let's not… I'll just buy new clothes when we pass a town and wash up then."

[In your previous life, Bulma hated that you never bathed and smelled bad.

Your life has restarted—leave her with a good impression.

Mission: Go take a bath and let Bulma scrub you.

Reward: Grow five centimeters within three days.]

Goku was stunned.

Ten battle power was already nice, but five centimeters of growth?

That was insanely generous.

Seeing him hesitate, Bulma covered her mouth and laughed.

"You're such a little kid and you're already this shy?

Relax, I'm not going to make you wear girl's clothes.

I've got a spare set—shorts and a shirt, unisex style. Never worn.

It's a bit big, but you can make do, okay?"

She pulled out a white set of clothes.

"Well… that works," Goku said, taking them and heading to the bathroom.

But as soon as he stripped, he stared up at the shower controls far above his head.

Just then, Bulma walked in holding a scrub brush.

"Come over to the tub. I'll help you wash.

It's a capsule house—we can't waste water."

Goku instantly turned around and covered himself.

Bulma giggled. "You're so shy."

Then she got to work, carefully scrubbing him.

[Mission: Bathe and let Bulma scrub you — Completed.

Reward: Five centimeters of growth within three days has been granted.]

Noticing his tail getting in the way, Bulma suggested, "Goku, let me take off your tail for now.

We can put it back once it's dry, okay?"

"No!" Goku shook his head hard.

"Why not? It's in the way."

"It's not an accessory—it's part of me."

"People don't grow tails. Don't try to fool me."

She tugged on it.

"Ow, Bulma, that hurts…"

Goku used his tail to grab the brush and started scrubbing his own back.

Bulma collapsed onto the floor in shock.

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to…

But… you really do have a tail?!"

That night, Goku fell asleep very late in Bulma's house.

But years of habit were hard to break.

He woke up early the next morning and, unable to sleep, went outside to do his usual morning training.

A large sea turtle appeared in front of him.

"Hello there, little guy.

Could you give me some water? I'm dying of thirst."

[In your previous life, you and Bulma went through life and death together,

yet never ended up together…

Your life has restarted.

If you want her to be yours this time, you can't let someone else take advantage of her.

Mission: Stop Bulma and Master Roshi from making an improper deal.

Reward: Flight.]
