Chapter 126 - Chapter 126: Not the Red Thirst, But the Milk Thirst (Bonus)

Even though we didn't quite reach the goal but since we crossed 2000 Powerstones for the first time, here's the bonus chapter.

Damn at this point I just want a reason to post a bonus chapter.

Keep Donating Powerstones! Hope we reach Top 3 next week.

It was unbelievable that Yuji was still alive.

His vision swam, and he endured agonizing pain. "No, please..."

His legs kicked feebly, like a lamb awaiting slaughter.

Yuji couldn't comprehend why the angels, who had just been fighting the Tyranids to protect them, had in the blink of an eye transformed into vampires more terrifying than the xenos.

Perhaps from the very beginning, these Knights of Blood hadn't kept them close for protection.

The Knight of Blood bared his fangs and bit into Yuji's neck, beginning to suck the delicious blood.

"You were quick; you grabbed a good one."

One of his companions hoisted Yuji's grandmother into the air, looking at the wrinkled, juiceless elderly human before him and complaining.

No, no, no... Yuji looked at his grandmother, tears of despair streaming down his face.

"Let that human go."

With a loud bang, the broken hatch of the Cadian ship went flying, the pervading bloody dust churned up by the air current.

With a powerful kick—like a soccer shot—Sicarius blasted the Cadian ship's broken door away.

Zeke and Sicarius were the first to step out from the breach, followed by a fully armed squad of Ultramarines.

There was no sun here; the morning was polluted by blood-like darkness.

Zeke had just been wondering where the ordinary Cadian soldiers had gone, as there were no corpses on the ship.

Now, seeing the scene of the Knights of Blood drinking blood, Zeke temporarily cast the question of the Cadian soldiers to the back of his mind.

An instinctive revulsion spread from the bottom of his heart. Setting aside the barbarism of drinking raw blood, wasn't this literally cannibalism?

This was even more outrageous than the Red Angel!

The Knight of Blood looked up, blood still staining the corners of his mouth, and stared in bewilderment at the blue giants suddenly pouring out of the crashed ship.

How were there so many Space Marines hiding inside this crashed vessel?

Seeing the blue livery, the Knight of Blood was certain this was not a Chapter that should be present on Baal Prime.

"Strangers, identify your Chapter and your intent." He licked the blood from his teeth. "Furthermore, please leave. I do not appreciate being disturbed while dining."

Sicarius glanced at his own blue Power Armor. Is the renown of the Ultramarines so small these days?

Sicarius took a step forward; he recognized this Chapter.

"The Knights of Blood. Officially declared Excommunicate Traitoris by the High Lords of Terra due to excessive and savage slaughter during a Penitent Crusade years ago."

He surveyed the corpses of the Tyranids destroyed by the Knights of Blood, as well as the Blood Angels successor iconography on their armor.

"Your participation in the defense of your homeworld proves that a shred of loyalty to your Gene-Father and your home remains in your hearts. But that can never be an excuse for treating Imperial citizens in such a manner! Cease your actions immediately."

The Knight of Blood sneered, turning a deaf ear to Sicarius's warning.

The Red Thirst deep within his genes washed away his already fragile sanity.

The red glow in his eyes intensified as he lowered his head once more, attempting to continue drawing blood from the wound on Yuji's neck.

The Red Thirst. Zeke looked at the negative debuff in the opponent's status bar.

This was the genetic flaw passed down through the Blood Angels line, a primitive craving for blood.

Before Sanguinius fell, the Great Angel used his personal charisma and discipline to restrain his sons' impulses.

After the Great Angel's fall, most Blood Angels successor chapters relied on iron will to combat this curse.

But fallen ones like the Knights of Blood viewed it as their nature, or even a privilege.

They believed mortals were merely cattle raised by the Imperium, while Space Marines were the shepherd dogs.

To better guard the majority of the herd, taking a small portion as food was considered perfectly normal.

If the Emperor heard this, what would He think? Today, I, Zeke, will enforce justice on behalf of the Emperor.

Zeke and Sicarius charged out, the Ultramarines behind them lunging at their respective opponents like tigers released from a cage.

Seeing the human charging at him beyond his depth, the Knight of Blood tossed Yuji aside and hefted his chainsword.

You just threw away your last hope. Zeke saw the Knight drop Yuji and no longer held back. He opened fire with full force, activating the [Endersoul Hand].

The prow of the Cadian ship, weighing several tons, was grabbed out of thin air. Carrying a howling wind pressure, it smashed toward the Knight of Blood.

Psychic power... The Knight of Blood only had time to raise his chainsword to block before being hit squarely by the terrifying projectile.

He crashed heavily into the ground, smashing out a deep crater, and sprayed out the blood he had just ingested.

He struggled to rise, holding his cracked chainsword across his chest.

Zeke arrived, the Manyullyn Chainsword in his hand running at full power, colliding with the Knight's damaged weapon.

Sparks flew. After a two-second stalemate, the Knight's damaged chainsword was cleaved in two by the Manyullyn blade.

The strike didn't lose momentum; it sliced through the shoulder pauldron of the Power Armor and embedded itself in the scapula beneath.

The Knight of Blood let out a wretched scream, the intense pain causing his final shred of sanity to collapse.

The curse of the Red Thirst seized the opportunity, completely dominating his brain.

A look of madness appeared on his face. He stuck out his tongue to lick the blood spurting from his own shoulder.

Gripping the broken half of his chainsword and disregarding all defense, he roared and pounced at Zeke once again.

When the Red Thirst develops to a severe degree, it causes one to lose all reason and become incredibly mad.

Once again, the Knight of Blood was sent flying by Zeke; the broken chainsword couldn't even leave a scratch on the Armor of Fate.

As the Knight charged again, Zeke pulled out a bucket of Milk and pressed it directly onto the Knight's face.

Slurp, slurp, slurp. Like a crying child finding a pacifier, the milk flowed into the Knight of Blood's mouth.

Huh?

This stuff... seems much tastier than blood.

As he drank the Milk, the Red Thirst debuff gradually vanished.

Clarity returned to the Knight of Blood's eyes. He hugged the unfinished bucket of milk, sucking greedily.

This is simply ambrosia!

It must be known that drinking blood only relieved the Red Thirst.

This milk directly cleared the Red Thirst debuff. To the Knight of Blood, this was ten thousand times better than blood which only offered temporary relief.

The Red Thirst had turned into a Milk Thirst!

The Knight of Blood regained some sanity, realizing his actions just now were indeed the blood controlling his brain.

He shamelessly asked Zeke, "Is there anymore of this Milk?"

His answer was a right hook infused with the effect of a Strength Potion, smashing solidly into his face.

Bang!

Left hook!

Bang!

Rapid jabs!

Zeke delivered a clean, crisp combination, knocking the Knight of Blood—who was still savoring the aftertaste of the milk—unconscious on the ground, shutting him up completely.

"Tie him up!" Zeke said, clearly annoyed.

On the other side, Sicarius's battle was already over.

The Knight of Blood who had held Yuji's grandmother had been hammered to the ground with a Power Fist, his joints dislocated and weapon seized, now pinned firmly by two Ultramarines.

The remaining Knights of Blood were also knocked down and subdued under the tacit cooperation of the Ultramarines.

Zeke pulled out a Regeneration Potion and poured it down the throat of Yuji, whose neck was twisted to the right.

"This is going to hurt a bit."

Controlling his strength, Zeke grabbed Yuji's head and twisted it back into place.
