Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: A Trip to the Nether

The Warp. A place where the concepts of time and space do not exist.

That is, until the appearance of a block. In the ever-formless Warp, this block seemed entirely out of place.

It was like a single, solitary note inserted into a chaotic symphony of dissonance.

The entity most adept at perceiving change was the first to notice this anomaly.

His visage flickered constantly; one moment he was a gentleman holding an ancient tome, the next a shapeless monstrosity covered in tentacles.

"Everything is going according to plan." His face finally settled on a sharp, avian beak—a beak that looked incomparably "stubborn."

More blocks appeared. The blocks formed a continuous crimson continent that kept extending outward, as if it had no end.

Magma began to flow through this continent, and flames ignited out of thin air upon the blocks, burning perpetually without being extinguished.

This scene of conflagration triggered a neighbor.

A figure sat upon a throne cast from molten brass. Beside the throne lay His favorite decoration: a mountain of skulls.

His eyes turned toward that red continent, then back to His own fortress. There were many differences between the two, but there were even more similarities.

Plagiarism. This was naked plagiarism!

In the Nether, various colors began to emerge, embellishing the monotonous continent.

Crimson Forests formed from crimson fungi appeared, along with Piglin Bastions inlaid with blocks of gold.

There was terrain, and there was color, yet it remained deadly silent, lacking a certain vitality. Ah, yes—life.

A squad of Piglins appeared out of thin air, wielding golden swords and crossbows as they walked across the ground.

Wither Skeletons spawned in the corners of Nether Fortresses, their bony frames making clack-clack sounds.

The appearance of life attracted more gazes.

A benevolent-looking, pot-bellied fat man, with rotting pus constantly dripping from his body, was leisurely stirring a large cauldron in front of him.

He watched as a Piglin fell from a high place and then vanished.

No rotting corpse left behind, no process of death. How tragic.

He let out a dissatisfied mumble. In His great cauldron, even the tiniest germ had its place.

In another place, a graceful figure, twisting constantly like a serpent, stretched out within a palace.

He/She noticed the longing for gold in a Piglin's eyes. That singular, pure desire was both charming and frustrating to Him/Her.

The gods all understood.

This world composed of blocks, though situated within the Warp, was a domain possessing its own rules.

Stepping into the Nether, the scene before Zeke was almost exactly the same as in the game.

With square objects everywhere, Zeke actually became the abnormal one.

The location he teleported to this time happened to be on the edge of a Soul Sand Valley.

Zeke made a brief observation of the surrounding environment.

He wasn't sure if the Nether generated inside the Warp, as he didn't know what the Warp actually looked like.

His body showed no adverse reactions, but given that he was a Block Person distinct from ordinary humans, Zeke couldn't jump to conclusions yet.

He returned through the Nether Portal and summoned Wolf Lord Bloodhowl.

He warned Bloodhowl to set up a perimeter around the portal and to ensure no ordinary soldiers approached it. Then, he mined a few dozen more blocks of obsidian and returned to the Nether.

Stepping into the valley, Zeke felt a pressure weighing on his mind.

On the surface of the Soul Sand were twisted white human faces, their mouths gaping as if screaming silently.

Too evil. Dragging his decelerated body, Zeke dug up a stack of Soul Sand with a look of disgust.

He had no choice; this was the stuff needed to grow Nether Wart.

Zeke continued forward and saw some Nether Fossils made of bone blocks.

Beneath one of the fossils, Zeke was lucky enough to find a Dehydrated Ghast. (TL/N: A Dried Ghast is a new, immobile block in Minecraft found near Nether fossils, representing a shriveled ghast that can be hydrated in water (in the Overworld) to grow into a rideable Happy Ghast)

It could be hatched into a Happy Ghast using water. They were gentle in nature and could be tamed as flying mounts.

Zeke imagined himself riding on the back of a Happy Ghast, drifting slowly through the hail of bullets in the Warhammer world.

Too big, too slow. The thing wasn't very useful; at best, he could lead it around with a lead like a balloon to scare ordinary people.

Despite thinking this, Zeke still stored the Dehydrated Ghast away. After all, who wouldn't want a cute Happy Ghast as a pet?

Zeke continued his exploration. In the Soul Sand Valley, he encountered several Zombified Piglins.

After getting used to the monsters with bizarre abilities in the Warhammer world, Zeke found dealing with these vanilla Minecraft Nether mobs to be a breeze.

As long as he managed his spacing, he could beat them with his bare hands.

Zeke headed in a chosen direction and traveled for a distance of four or five hundred blocks.

Along the way, he mined quite a bit of Nether Quartz Ore and Netherrack. The Nether Quartz even gave him a tiny bit of experience.

Netherrack was easy to mine, and once ignited, the fire would burn forever. It made for a good barbecue grill, and served as passable defensive measures.

Exploring deeper, Zeke found a Nether Fortress.

The monster density here was significantly higher. Zeke gripped his Diamond Sword and shield tightly, cutting a path through all obstacles and clearing out the entire Nether Fortress.

He looted all the chests he found along the way, obtaining plenty of useful spoils.

Gold Ingots, Saddles, Golden Armor, Nether Wart, and a Smithing Template.

On a platform in the central area of the fortress, surrounded by Nether Brick Fences, he found a spinning Blaze Spawner.

Zeke simply surrounded himself with blocks, leaving a gap for attacking, and began farming. He then collected a sufficient amount of Blaze Rods.

As these Blaze Rods were the core material for crafting a Brewing Stand.
