Finally, morning came and everyone was awake. Straw, as always, was happy. The closer she got to Berryanna, the more she got to know her. She might not know her fully, but she was learning every day. With every open page, she got to know her wife a little more. The thought alone made her lips curve. She tried to hide it by lowering her head to her plate, but the smile stayed, stubborn and warm.
"Wow, you look too happy today, sister-in-law," Apple said, bringing Straw out of her daydreaming.
Her spoon paused halfway to her mouth. She blinked once, then twice, before setting it down carefully. She cleared her throat, straightened her back, and looked at him like she had not just been smiling at nothing.
