Straw laid down beside Berryanna in their room, eyes wide open as she stared at Berryanna sleeping. This was the first time Straw had woken up to see Berryanna beside her. She did not move. She just watched.
The toys from last night were still on the bed, pressed between them and near Berryanna's chest. Berryanna cuddled one of them tightly, fingers curled into the soft fabric, sleeping peacefully like that was the most natural and cutest thing to do.
Her breathing was slow and steady. Straw shifted slightly onto her side. Careful. She reached out and gently removed the hair from Berryanna's face, tucking it behind her ear so she could have a proper view of her lovely, beautiful wife.
Berryanna did not stir, her lips were slightly parted. Her lashes rested softly against her cheeks. One arm was wrapped around the toy, the other stretched loosely toward Straw as if even in sleep she had reached for her.
