Chapter 11 - 11

11: Chapter 11 Testing the Waters of the Warring States PeriodKizaru embellished the story that Wang Luffy had relayed to him and then told it to the two elderly people.

Garp nodded after listening, clearly satisfied with the explanation. But Sengoku, upon hearing it, felt his blood pressure spike and angrily retorted:

"I asked you to recount what happened, not to tell a science fiction story. What, that Shanks saw Roger's shadow in Luffy and cried and begged to help Luffy become the Pirate King again, and that the Rumble-Rumble Fruit was a tribute from Shanks to him?Can you be any more ridiculous?Anyone with a little common sense knows that this is fake."

After finishing speaking, Sengoku turned to look at Garp, his blood pressure, which hadn't gone down yet, rushing to his head.Upon seeing Garp, he was still grinning foolishly, muttering to himself, "Roger, I didn't expect you to be so polite, wanting to be my grandson. If you had said so earlier, I would have recognized you back in your past life, ahahahahaha."

Sengoku interrupted Garp's daydreams, saying, "Stop dreaming. This story was obviously made up by Kizaru.Your grandson is not Roger's reincarnation.Shanks was just passing through Windmill Village and saw that your grandson was somewhat extraordinary. He became interested in your grandson but didn't have any bad intentions."

But your grandson was so scared that he called Kizaru, and then, by some twist of fate, he managed to snatch your grandson and the Rumble-Rumble Fruit from Shanks.

After Sengoku finished speaking, he turned to Kizaru and continued, "Kizaru, this is how things should have happened, right?"

Kizaru replied with some surprise, "That's terrifying, Fleet Admiral. You were able to guess the general course of events just from my casual remark. That's right, the course of events is exactly as Fleet Admiral Sengoku described."

Hearing the two say that, Garp was a little disappointed and pouted, saying, "Huh?Roger isn't my grandson?"

Sengoku said, "Stop daydreaming, Garp. And you, Kizaru, judging from what you didn't finish saying earlier, there must be something else besides these, right?Hurry up and give us your report all at once."

Upon hearing this, Kizaru immediately said seriously, "After rescuing Luffy, on my way to my hometown, I passed a deserted island filled with garbage and saw a skinny boy.He had natural Observation Haki, so I rescued him as well and brought him back to the Marines."

Sengoku, who had just sat down, stood up again and said, "Natural Observation Haki?Another promising candidate for admiral.Well done, Kizaru, you've really done a great job on this trip.Quickly have someone bring him over so I can see just how good his natural Observation Haki is."

Kizaru then instructed a soldier to fetch his adjutant and Enel.Soon, Enel arrived at the Fleet Admiral's office.

Sengoku looked at the young man with large earlobes and began to sized him up.Just as he was nodding, he saw that Enel seemed a little lost, so Sengoku punched Enel in the stomach.

Enel didn't react in time, but his body involuntarily arched, like a shrimp.Sengoku's fist didn't hit Enel's stomach; it remained about 10cm away, and the distance didn't close as the curvature of his stomach increased.

Sengoku then withdrew his fist, nodded in satisfaction, and said, "Not bad, it's innate Observation Haki.Your eyes and mind can't keep up, but your body will instinctively react to danger.Besides, Enel, do you have any other sensory abilities besides this?"

Enel replied, "I can also sense people and events within a radius of one li (approximately 500 meters).Within this range, I can sense whatever anyone is doing."

Sengoku, with an expression of delighted surprise, said, "Very good.Enel, would you like to join the Navy?I hereby formally invite you to join our Navy."

Enel, seeing Sengoku's question, remembered Kizaru's earlier instructions and said somewhat grimly, "I can join the Marines, but do the Marines have to take orders from those damn Celestial Dragons?I have a blood feud with the Celestial Dragons, do you dare take me?"

Sengoku was startled upon hearing the words "Celestial Dragons" and immediately activated his Observation Haki to distract the others. He didn't want to ruin promising future talents of the Navy by discussing the Celestial Dragons. However, after hearing Enel's words, Sengoku still broke out in a cold sweat and said:

"Don't talk about the Celestial Dragons casually. The Navy has CP0 spies here.If I hadn't just used my Observation Haki to interfere, you would have been arrested as soon as you said those words."

Enel smiled indifferently and then said, "If the Navy has Celestial Dragons' spies everywhere, is it still the Navy? Why doesn't your Navy declare independence from the World Government?"

A strange look flashed in Sengoku's eyes as he warned, "Stop saying such treasonous things.I understand you have some resentment because you suffered at the hands of the Celestial Dragons, but that's no excuse for you to keep spouting nonsense."

You need to receive some serious naval training. If you say those things again, I'll kill you.

Enel remained somewhat emboldened after hearing this, glancing at Kizaru's gaze and saying, "What if I told you I have the Gold-Gold Fruit?"

"Gold-Gold Fruit?" Sengoku's expression shifted, but he quickly regained his composure and replied, "The Gold-Gold Fruit is indeed excellent, but the Celestial Dragons are equally inviolable.Don't make your possession of the Gold-Gold Fruit public.Go down and receive some ideological education from the Navy first, and then we'll discuss other matters."

After having his lieutenant Kizaru take Enel to the officers' training room, Sengoku still hadn't turned off his Observation Haki interference. He said to the two people in front of him, "Gold-Gold Fruit, what do you two think?"

Garp looked like he didn't understand, while Kizaru revealed his lewd smile and said, "Fleet Admiral, I knew I hadn't misjudged you.It seems you haven't become servile just because you've been enslaved by the Celestial Dragons for a few years."

Yes,Enel was arranged by Kizaru to test Sengoku's attitude towards the Celestial Dragons and the Navy's independence. The Gold-Gold Fruit has not yet appeared, so using this as a starting point can be comparable to the Golden Country, while not exposing the Golden Country.

Sengoku, upon hearing Kizaru's words, asked incredulously, "You arranged this with Enel?So the Gold-Gold Fruit is fake?Kizaru, what exactly are you trying to do?"

Kizaru then said with a hint of unease, "Actually, the three of us discovered the Golden City, which, if converted into Beli, could account for more than 20% of the world's wealth. With this wealth, the Navy would no longer need the World Government's military budget, which is decreasing year by year and which we have to grovel for."

Sengoku walked up to Kizaru, placed his hands on his shoulders, looked him straight in the eye, and said, "Are you serious?Answer me seriously this time."
