Seeing this, Roy nodded in satisfaction. He was about to get out of bed, but the moment he moved, his injuries made his face turn deathly pale, and he sucked in a sharp breath.
"Shu, come over and treat Roy-sama," White Fang ordered without turning around, his brows tightly furrowed.
"Yes, sir!" One of the masked members immediately stepped toward Roy.
"Oh? You can treat my injuries?" Roy asked, his face still pale as he looked at the approaching man.
"Yes, Roy-sama. Our unit often carries out high risk missions, so we have members like me who specialize in medical techniques." Shu walked up to Roy, lowered his head politely, and spoke in a gentle voice. "Roy-sama, please lie face down on the bed so I can treat you."
"Alright, I'll be in your care." Roy followed the instruction and lay down on the bed.
"Being of service to you is the mission of our unit." Shu bowed again, then carefully lifted Roy's shirt and removed the bandages.
After examining the horrifying blade wound, he assessed calmly, "This injury isn't too deep. It didn't reach anything vital. Please wait a moment, Roy-sama. I'll treat it immediately."
With that, Shu formed hand signs quickly. A blue glow gathered in his right palm, then he gently pressed that power over Roy's wound.
"This feels amazing."
Roy's pale expression eased at once. The pain receded like a tide, and a soft light spread over the wound, bringing a tingling sensation that was strangely soothing.
About ten minutes later, Shu slowly withdrew his hand and said softly, "Roy-sama, the treatment is complete."
"It's done already?" Roy froze for a moment, then moved his body. Sure enough, there was no pain at all.
He turned to look at his back. The vicious wound was gone without a trace, leaving only a faint pale mark.
"Incredible, incredible. This is great!"
Roy jumped off the bed, stretching limbs that had been stiff for far too long. His gaze swept over the hundred plus masked figures in the room, and his face lit up with undisguised joy.
With such an elite force, what was there to fear from pirates?
And the Gambino family?
Even if the kingdom faced annihilation, how could it shake him at all?
Roy was brimming with confidence. In his mind, even White Fang alone was enough to resolve these crises.
"You all"
"Bad news, Roy-sama! The Gambino family has barged in!"
Before Roy could speak, the door was suddenly thrown open. The same young maid who had changed his medicine earlier rushed in, panicked, her once gentle face now filled with anxiety.
But before she could even take in what was inside the room, two masked members appeared behind her like ghosts. A strong hand clamped down on her shoulder.
The maid felt an overwhelming force surge in, her vision spinning, and in the next instant she was slammed to the floor. Her arms were twisted behind her back, pain making her eyes sting.
Yet when she finally saw what was in front of her, the tears of fear were forced back as her face turned a frightening shade of pale.
Roy-sama's room was packed with over a hundred mysterious people in black, all wearing masks.
Two of them had somehow appeared behind her and pinned her down. Two short blades, cold with killing intent, were crossed at her throat.
"Who, who are you people?" The maid had never seen anything like this. She immediately started shaking all over.
Only then did Roy realize what had happened.
"She's my maid. Let her go," Roy said to the two members, a fierce desire flashing in his eyes at the thought of unlocking the exclusive lottery.
"Yes, Roy-sama." The two members released her at once.
The maid staggered up, staring blankly at Roy and the countless masked figures. With her limited understanding, she could not comprehend what she had just witnessed.
"You all, withdraw. When you don't need to show yourselves, hide near me," Roy said, rubbing at a headache as he glanced at the maid who looked frozen in shock. He gave the order to White Fang.
"Yes, Roy-sama." White Fang nodded. He lifted a hand, and with a single whoosh, every member vanished without a trace.
Their speed was so extreme that it even kicked up a small gust inside the room.
"So fast, I couldn't catch even a hint of their presence," Roy couldn't help murmuring.
After that sigh of amazement, Roy turned his eyes to the maid still standing there in a daze.
He walked over, gently patted her head, and curled his lips into a faint smile. "They're already gone. What are you still staring at?"
"Ah, Roy-sama!" The maid snapped back to her senses. Realizing Roy's hand was on her head, her cheeks instantly reddened. She yelped and hurriedly took a step back.
But then she seemed to notice something else. She stared at Roy in disbelief, her voice rising. "Roy-sama, your wound, what happened?"
"Oh, it's fine now." Roy smiled, then stepped toward the door, speaking without looking back. "Let's go."
The maid quickly jogged after him.
"Roy-sama, where are you going?" she asked curiously.
"Heh. Didn't you say the Gambino family came? Of course I'm going to meet them," Roy replied with a smile.
"Then Roy-sama, those people just now" the maid pressed on.
"You'll understand in a bit." Roy gave her a mysterious smile and didn't answer directly.
