~Alistair's POV~
It was a small, private celebration of peace. Alex's father sat back with a satisfied smile, watching his children finally at ease. Alex pulled me close to his side, his arm heavy and protective around my shoulders. For the first time, I saw his mother look at us, and then at his sister, with genuine acceptance.
In that moment on the rooftop, surrounded by the quiet luxury of the Montclair name and the newfound warmth between them, it felt like the reunion we had all been longing for.
For the first time, everything was at peace.
And the family… was finally whole again.
The happiness on the rooftop was overwhelming, so much so that Alex's mother couldn't keep her excitement to herself. She turned to Alex's father, her eyes shining with a rare, unguarded spark of joy.
"Honey," Alex's mother said, "I have something to share with you."
Alex's father looked at her, curious. "What is it, sweetheart?"
Her eyes lit up slightly as she spoke.
