"System, going by the usual transmigration novel rules, there should be a newbie gift pack, right? Let me see it!" Ash asked with full expectation.
Ding! Sorry, Host. This system has no newbie gift pack. However, as compensation, the system will automatically settle the achievement points from Host (the original Ash)'s Kanto journey and Johto journey as initial startup funds.
Ding! Calculating points…
Kanto journey: 8 Gym wins, 8,000 points; League Conference Top 16, 2,000 points; various side achievements, 13,000 points; total 23,000 points.
Johto journey: 8 Gym wins, 8,000 points; League Conference Top 8, 5,000 points; various side achievements, 12,000 points; total 25,000 points.
Combined total from both journeys: 48,000 points!
"Yes! Unbeatable!" Ash stared at the virtual panel in his mind showing 48,000 points and got so excited he almost jumped. Forty eight thousand points! That was a massive fortune, more than enough to trade for plenty of good stuff in the shop!
He forced down his excitement and looked at Pikachu on his shoulder, then silently ordered in his mind, "System, check Pikachu's info!"
Pokémon Name: Pikachu
Category: Mouse Pokémon
Type: Electric

Strength Level: Gym Peak
Moves Known: Thunder Shock, Thunderbolt, Quick Attack, Agility, Thunder, Iron Tail, Volt Tackle, Electroweb, Substitute, Knock Off…
Tera Type: Flying
Held Item: None
System Notice: Pokémon strength levels are divided into Normal, Elite, Gym, Pseudo Elite Four, Elite Four, Champion, Legendary, Divine, and Super Legendary. Each level is further split into Early, Mid, Late, and Peak stages.
"No wonder it's Pikachu," Ash marveled.
Gym Peak strength meant Pikachu already had the potential to challenge Pokémon at the Pseudo Elite Four tier, and its moveset was both deep and flexible. Offense, defense, and speed were all excellent.
What surprised him even more was Pikachu's Tera Type.
Flying.
When a Pokémon Terastallizes, its type becomes its Tera Type, and moves of that type get a big power boost. Pikachu was originally Electric, but with Flying as its Tera Type, that meant after Terastallization it could ignore Ground type attacks and even use Flying type moves for heavy damage. Its tactical options instantly became far more flexible.
As he walked, Ash impatiently opened the system shop to check what was inside. The shop interface was packed with items, neatly categorized, with prices clearly displayed.

Great Ball, 500 points each
Ultra Ball and special balls like Nest Ball and Quick Ball, 1,000 points each

Key Stone, 5,000 points each
50 Tera Shards, 10,000 points per bundle
Mega Stone, 10,000 points each
Signature Z-Crystal, 10,000 points each
System Notice: After obtaining a Tera Orb, the system will automatically refill its Tera energy. No extra points are required. Items exclusive to Legendary Pokémon (such as Arceus's Plates, Lugia's Feather, etc.) are not available for exchange at this time.
"The prices are pretty reasonable," Ash calculated silently. With 48,000 points, he could trade for plenty of practical items. For example, he could get Pikachu a Light Ball to massively boost its Electric type power, then pick up a Tera Orb and a Z-Ring to master Terastallization and Z-Moves early. That would be a huge advantage in Hoenn.
All the way there, Ash planned his point spending with growing excitement, and his pace unconsciously sped up.
Before long, a familiar landmark appeared ahead. A red, two story building with a massive windmill on the roof slowly turning in the breeze.
Professor Oak's lab.
Looking at the building that had appeared countless times in the anime, Ash felt both excited and strangely at home. He took a deep breath, walked up with Pikachu, and pressed the doorbell.
Ding dong.
The door opened quickly. A bespectacled boy in a white lab coat appeared in the doorway.
It was Tracey.
"Morning, Ash!" Tracey greeted him with a friendly smile. "What brings you here?"
"Morning, Tracey," Ash replied with a grin.
At that moment, an elderly man with gray hair and the same white lab coat walked out as well, smiling warmly.
Professor Oak.
"Good morning, Ash!" Professor Oak waved, his eyes landing on Pikachu. "And Pikachu looks full of energy too!"
"Good morning, Professor Oak," Ash said respectfully. He felt genuine admiration. Professor Oak was a giant in Pokémon research, and an important supporter on Ash's journey, always helping him when it mattered most.
"Ash, you came to see your Pokémon, right?" Professor Oak asked with a smile. He knew Ash well. Every time Ash returned from traveling, he always came straight to the lab to visit the Pokémon he had left here.
"Yeah!" Ash nodded hard, anticipation shining in his eyes. "I want to see Bulbasaur, Snorlax, and the others… and also get ready to pick a few Pokémon to take with me to Hoenn!"
"Oh? You're heading to Hoenn?" Professor Oak looked surprised for a moment, then nodded. "That's good. Hoenn has lots of unique Pokémon and brand new challenges. It'll be a great adventure for you. Come on, I'll take you to the backyard."
Professor Oak led Ash and Tracey toward the backyard.
When the back door opened, a wide grassy field came into view. The space was divided into different areas, some filled with thick plants, some with small ponds, and some with soft sand, clearly habitats designed for different types of Pokémon.
"Bulba!"
A crisp cry rang out as a green, frog like Pokémon hopped out of the grass. It had big eyes and a green seed on its back.
Bulbasaur.
Seeing Ash, Bulbasaur looked unbelievably excited. It leapt up and fired a dazzling Solar Beam straight into the sky, a golden blast cutting through the air before it landed firmly in front of Ash, rubbing its head against Ash's pant leg.
"Good morning, Bulbasaur!" Ash crouched down and gently patted Bulbasaur's head, smiling. "You're still as lively as ever!"
Bulbasaur called out happily, clearly thrilled to see him.
Then the ground began to tremble slightly.
A moment later, a crowd of Pokémon rushed toward Ash from different directions, all bursting with excitement.
In front was a Pokémon covered in green leaves, with a long neck and two big leaves on its head.
Bayleef.
The instant Bayleef reached Ash, it wrapped its long neck around his arm and rubbed against him nonstop, acting spoiled and clingy, clearly incredibly attached to him.
"Haha, Bayleef, I missed you so much!" Ash laughed, hugging Bayleef and feeling its enthusiasm.
After that, Snorlax, Heracross, Kingler, the leader Tauros, Noctowl, Muk, Totodile, Cyndaquil, Phanpy, and more all crowded in, each expressing their affection in their own way.
Snorlax's huge body gently bumped Ash as it let out a simple, honest "Snor."
Heracross swung its big horned arms and spun excitedly in place.
Totodile hopped in circles around Ash, shouting with nonstop energy.
Cyndaquil stayed close to Ash's feet, rubbing its head against his shoe, the flames on its back swaying softly, looking especially well behaved.
Ash patted them one by one, warmth flooding his chest. These Pokémon were not just partners, they were family. Every reunion made him genuinely happy.
At the same time, he didn't forget the system's function. He silently ordered, "System, check their info!"

After seeing all this information, Ash nodded quietly.
Snorlax, Bulbasaur, and Heracross were already at Gym level, the backbone of his team. Bayleef, Kingler, and the others were at Elite Peak, only one step away from breaking into Gym level. Muk, Totodile, and Cyndaquil were also strong Elite tier Pokémon, especially Cyndaquil, which was close to evolving. Once it evolved into Quilava, its strength would definitely reach Elite Late, and it might even push into Gym level.
As for Phanpy, it was only at Normal Late for now, but it had huge potential. With time and growth, it would surely become a powerful force.
"Professor Oak, for this Hoenn trip, I want to take Phanpy with me," Ash turned and said to Professor Oak, who was watching everything with a smile.
Phanpy was a Pokémon he caught in Johto. It wasn't very strong yet, but Ash really liked it. And its evolution, Donphan, was a very powerful Ground type Pokémon that could absolutely play a major role in Hoenn.
"Alright," Professor Oak nodded, then asked with a bit of confusion, "You're only taking that one? You're not choosing a few more? Hoenn won't be easy. Bringing more strong Pokémon would give you a better chance."
The moment Professor Oak finished speaking, Bayleef immediately sensed something was wrong.
It stopped clinging and looked at Ash with grievance. Its long neck drooped, and it let out a soft whimper, eyes full of reluctance and pleading.
It clearly heard that Ash only planned to take Phanpy and wasn't planning to take it, and it felt truly heartbroken.
